Chapter 4 Comfort zone

Garry walked in drunk when he saw Lidia sleeping comfortably on the couch he was angry she made him unhappy so she didn't have the right to sleep so soundly so he walked closer and shook her awake.

"Garry, you are back?" She said while rubbing her eyes

"Yes I am, were you expecting me not to return to my own house?" He asked her.

"You smell like a brewery why did you drink that much? Is something bothering you?" She asked with concern written all over her face.

"Yes, you are why don't you leave my life? I knew you will be waiting for me at home so I had to go to the bar directly from work that is how much your presence repulses me, Lidia"

"You disgusts me, you repulse me Lidia you and your daughter do".

"I know, you keep telling me all the time so I know already Garry," she said with hands akimbo

" That is good then now get out of my way," he said as he pushed her out of the way.

"Garry?" She rushed to his aid as she saw him stumble down.

"Do not touch me Lidia your touch repulses me" he glared at her furiously.

"But I just wanted to help," she said in defeat

"I will like it if you allow me to fall then you help me," Garry said

"Ok then," she said as she removed her hands and watched him fall on the tiled floor.

"How could you Lidia?"

"You told me to let you go didn't you?" She replied puzzled.

"I did but that didn't mean you will push me down" he responded

"I didn't Garry" she answered.

"Whatever" he replied as he stumbled up the stairs toward his room.

Although they were a couple they slept separately, the only time they slept together was when Garry was so drunk and he came to Lidia's room where he slept with her.

Lidia wondered if he will do the same today seeing he was drunk again and wished he would.

She walked toward her room shutting the door gently.

Lilith heaved a sigh of relief seeing things weren't being thrown, she could remember the last time it happened and wished it never happened again as it left her traumatized.

Garry walked and slumped directly on his bed.

He woke up the next morning with a bad headache.

He was sitting down in the dining room drinking his morning coffee and reading the morning paper when he saw Lilith walk down the stairs.

He examined her outfits and knew she was going to lectures.

Lilith frowned seeing he was already at the table and walked into the kitchen, few minutes later she was on her way out with a Thermo flask and a bag.

"Young lady? Since when did you become blind?" Garry asked her

"Good morning Dad'' she greeted

"Morning, you may go" Garry answered and watched as she walked out.

"Josephine?"

"Yes master"

"What did your little miss take with her?"

"Her breakfast sir"

"Breakfast?"

"Yes, sir she said she was late and couldn't sit for breakfast anymore".

"Okay then, you may leave."

Lilith ran as fast as her leg could carry her so she will catch up with the school bus which will take her to the lecture.

Her school was for the wealthy and most of her classmates had personal drivers who dropped them.

She didn't have that privilege even though her dad had drivers at home, She wasn't allowed to use them the first time it happened she was cautioned by her father and so she stopped taking them.

She entered the bus immediately stopped and sat down.

"Good morning Lilith" Toni greeted her.

"Wow, this is rare Toni what are you doing here?" She questioned.

Toni's parents had drivers and Toni had one just for him so seeing him here was surprising to Lilith since it was his first time.

"I missed you, Lilith, I kept calling you why didn't you pick up?"

"You called me? Why?"

"Seriously Lilith? I was checking up on you"

"Ooo I can't remember where I placed my phone last night I am sorry I didn't pick up" she apologized sincerely.

"It is okay, so what is in your Thermo flask?"

"Pancakes and orange juice, do you want?"

"Of course yes I do" Toni answered.

"Here then"

She handed a portion over to Toni and watched as he ate quickly.

"So how were you able to escape your mum and dad?'' Lilith asked with her mouth full of food.

"Simple, I told them I needed to see you''

"Just that?" Lilith asked doubting him

"Yes, they miss you a lot tho they said I should ask when next you will be coming so when next?" Tino stared at her as she looked outside.

He wondered what was interesting in the landscape she was looking at right now but he knew how much she loved looking at the trees that decorated the road, he was watching her while she was watching the trees, such a painful sight.

"I don't know yet Tino, you know I hardly have that time anymore especially since I started working part-time after school" Lilith turned to him and answered.

"You can always make out time Lilith" he urged her.

"I will try Tino but I am not promising you" Lilith smiled while looking at him.

"Okay then, I hope it will be soon tho, thanks for the meal Lilith"

"I hope this will be the only time you get on this bus Toni, I am not worth it you should stop"

" Lilith I___"

"Let me speak Toni I know you love me" she watched Toni frown and looked at her.

"But I won't reciprocate, I am broken, and being with someone like me will hurt you beyond repair so kill whatever you think you have toward me"

"Lilith, I can't you know I can't"

"Toni gets over it or we will stop being friends." She deadpanned

"Lilith, I know you are broken but let me fix you I can please let me in your life, I know your parent's situation traumatized you but I can help"

"Don't talk to me ever again Toni, I won't pick up your calls and I am blocking you straight up" she picked up her Thermo flask and her bag and ran out of the bus that had just parked.

"Lilith, stop please" she heard Toni screaming for her to stop but she didn't stop.

She continued running to where was her comfort zone.
