Chapter 5 THE PAST

Luna's heart was filled with thought as she sat in the wood. If not for her aunt, she would've died just like that. And the unfortunate thing is that she can't take her mind off him.

It is hard for her to bear whenever she reads his mind and all his thoughts is about her, (Ava). And she clearly believe that he's fallen for her, (Ava).

" How will I win his heart? How can I turn it away from her?" She thought.

"Why is it so impossible for you to love me? I have different ways to help you." She said it out.

" You can't fight this battle alone. You need me by your side. But what did you do? You reject me and open your heart to a stranger. A girl who can die in a minute if Logan lays his hand on her. What is so special about her?"

" Luna!" She heard a voice behind her and turn to behold her aunt.

" Aunt!" She said in a sad way.

" You worry too much." Said her aunt.

" I have reasons to." Luna said. " There's something I want to find out from you Aunt." She turned to her fully.

" What is that?" Asked her Aunt in surprise.

" When I visited Arthur, he said that my mother betrayed his father. How did that happen?" She asked.

" Hmmm." Her aunt grunt. " It's really a long story." She added.

" I'm ready to listen." Luna said and support her chin with her hand, looking at her aunt's face. " I can't be left in the dark." She added.

There's silence for a while as her aunt looked ahead of them. She fold her hands and began. " Many years ago. Your mother and I were maids in King Alistair's palace.

The king found pleasure in your mother's eyes, but she was in love with someone else, a young king." She paused and continued.

" One day, her lover sent her on a mission against the King, but I warned her about it. Since she's blinded by love, or a spell he used on her, your mother disobeyed me and carry out the plan.

King Alistair loved her so much and wasn't expecting such danger from her, though he knew that it will happen.

She betrayed his trust and killed him with De'rel'la!"

" De'rel'la!" Luna repeated in surprise. She hasn't heard sure thing before.

"Yes!" Her Aunt said. " It's the only sword that can destroy Alistair." She added.

" Only for him? Can it be used on someone else?" Luna asked.

" Yes. It's for the most powerful people." Her Aunt replied. " But the sword is hidden. I don't know where it is. But I heard that it's in the hands of a little girl."

" A little girl?" Luna raised her brow.

" Yes." The woman replied and continued. " That's what your mother lover asked her to do.

After Killing Alistair, your mother ran to tell her lover. And when she did...." She paused and there's silence for some minutes before she continued again.

" He rejected her and pushed her away. Your mother ran to me in tears.

Before King Alistair died, he made a pronouncement that our family should be wipe out.

He also told his friend lord Uriel the little secret he had. No one knew that he had a son, not until the day Uriel presented him to the Kingdom. The mark on his wrist made everyone to believe. Nobody has such mark except born of Alistair.

Everyone were happy, but we were sad on our part. In order to save our lives, we ran away from the Kingdom.

Months later, I found out that your mother was pregnant."

" Hmmm." Luna grunt.

" Yes!" Said her Aunt. " And that child is you."

" Really?" Luna interrupted again and her Aunt sighed.

" When I asked her who impregnated her, she told me that it's her lover, the young King.

And that young king is King Emmitt." She concluded.

" Wait Aunt." Said Luna blinking her eyes repeatedly, trying to understand what she meant.

" King Emmitt, Logan's father or.....?"Asked Luna.

" Yes! Logan's father." Replied her Aunt.

" You mean...." Luna drawled. " Logan is my brother?"

"Logan is your half brother Luna." Her Aunt replied.

" What?" Luna exclaimed.

" But he doesn't know that you're his child." Her Aunt said.

" Then how did Arthur knew? Did you tell him?" Asked Luna.

" Arthur doesn't know that you're King Emmitt's daughter. He only knows that you're my sister's daughter." Her Aunt replied.

" No wonder I feel royal." Said Luna.

" You're from a Royal family." Her Aunt said.

" Hmmm." Luna grunt. " It doesn't change anything though. I didn't send my mother to do that. I love Arthur and I'll do anything possible to win his heart." Luna said.

" Your brother wants to kill him, and if you get involved, you'll die as well." Said her Aunt.

" He can't kill me, I'm more powerful than him. I'll fight him and his men." Said Luna. " If only Arthur will accept me." She added.

" And what if he doesn't? Will you join your brother to fight him?" Her aunt asked.
