Chapter 4 KNOWING YOU

Few days after he received the test results from the Doctor, Arthur decided to visit Ava. On arrival, he met her sleeping peacefully on the bed. He sat down beside her and remove the strains of hair which covered her face.

Ava felt the touch and woke up. " Oh! It's morning already." She said as she saw the glimpse of light from the window. " Damn! I sleep a lot." She muttered and sat up, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand.

The moment she stood up from the bed, their eyes clocked and her heart skipped a bit. " Sir!" Ava blurt out, shaking in fear.

" Are you alright?" Author asked observing her closely.

" Yes sir." She replied and glanced at herself. " Oh my gosh! What?" She exclaimed as she realized that she's only on pant and bra.

" I'm..... I'm just...." She stuttered and smiled faintly, feeling nervous.

" Do what you wanna do, I'm not gonna bite you." Arthur said calmly and she nodded.

" Let me...." She point at the bathroom and scratched her hair as she began to move.

Arthur was watching her actions, but didn't say a word. She glanced at him again, pushed the door open and went in as quickly as possible.

Ava shut the door and lean on it, trying to catch her breath. " Damn! I'm so nervous. What's wrong with me? Hope he won't be mad at me?" She said to herself.

" I didn't even know he's here! Gosh!" She opened the door slightly and look out.

There sat Arthur, still gazing at her direction. " Oh my gosh!" Ava shut the door quickly. " He's still there. Well, I have to mind my business. But is that possible?"

Arthur wasn't surprise because everyone seem to act that way anytime they set their eyes on him.

He began to wonder about his looks and decided to check himself on the mirror. He stood up and walk over to it. " Still normal." He muttered.

" Good morning sir." Elisa greeted as she entered the room. Arthur turned to her instantly. " How do I look?"

Elisa was surprised, but she dare not waste her time to answer the question. " You......" She drawled. " You look good sir." She concluded, wondering why he asked her such a question.

" Hmmm." Arthur muttered and walk towards the table. He pulled a chair and sat down. " Tell the maids that I want to have my breakfast here."

" Yes sir." Elisa said and walked out through the door.

When she returned, Ava was already in the room, probably searching for a dress to put on. Elisa decided to help her out and walked towards her.

" This one will do." Said Elisa handing the dress to her.

" Thank you." Ava said and collected the dress from her. She glanced at Arthur, but quickly averted her eyes as their eyes met.

" Let me...." She drawled. " Let me change up." She said to Elisa and head to the bathroom. After changing up, she came out with a smile on her face. The dress really look beautiful on her.

Arthur bites his lips and avert his eyes. While Ava stared at the maids who came to serve him food, in surprise. " So there are other girls here?" She said within.

Her eyes moved to the table and she opened her mouth in awe. They're many food on the table and she began to wonder if they're expecting some visitors.

She drew closer to Elisa and whispered into her ears, " Seems like we're expecting some visitors?"

" No Miss. He just want to have a breakfast with you." Elisa replied.

" With me alone?" Asked Ava widening her eyes in shock.

" Yes!" Elisa replied. " Don't be afraid, he won't harm you. But be careful, don't provoke him." Elisa advised and walked out, following the other maids.

" Come over!" His deep voice echoed in the room, and Elisa's words played in her head repeatedly.

Reluctantly, she walked to him, pulled a chair and sat down. Focusing her eyes on the table, in order to avoid his gaze.

" Let's eat." Arthur said and picked up a spoon. He filled their plate with food and urge her to eat.

Ava was not feeling comfortable sitting with him, but in order not to get him upset, she picked a spoon and began to eat.

After a while he called slowly, " Ava!" Almost like a whisper.

" Sir." Ava replied and glanced at him.

" I wanna know you, and I expect you to be truthful to me." Said Arthur.

" Yes sir." She replied and glanced at him again.

" How old are you?" He asked.

" I'm.....I'm 22." She stuttered.

" What took you to the club?" He asked.

" Huh!" Ava blurt out. She didn't get the question.

Arthur drank a glass of water and said, " You look innocent and fragile. What took you to the club?"

" I...I've been in the club since childhood. My aunt owns the club house sir." She replied, after some difficulty.

" My parents are.....my parents died some years ago. I was a kid then. My aunt has been the one taking care of me." She replied.

Arthur realized that she wasn't eating anymore and urge her to eat. " Eat, all these is for you."

" What about you sir, you've not touch your food." Ava said in surprise.

" Don't worry about me, I'm okay." He replied.

" All these for me? I won't finish it, it's too much." She said with a frown, but Arthur didn't say a word to that.

Instead he asked, " why were you scared? Do I look like a monster?" He asked.

" No Sir actually erm....." She was interrupted.

" I expect the truth." He reminded her and his eyes flashed blue, but she didn't see it.

" Yes sir. Actually the truth is that this place looks strange, and it's my first time of living with a stranger. I've been in the club house all day, i don't associate with people." She replied.

" I'm I the first person you sign a contract with?" He asked.

" A contract?" Ava thought in surprise." Yes sir." She replied and there's silence afterwards.

" We're going out today. When you're done, Elisa will bring you downstairs." Arthur said and walked out.

" Going to where exactly? Is he taking me back to my aunt?"
