Chapter 4 The Fated fight

William, Courtney and John looked at each other simultaneously as their eyes glowed red. "Let's fight in half form first without changing into full," William said. William closed his eyes for a moment meditating on summoning werewolves nearby to come to his mansion to fight against Diana. While Courtney charged first and fast with her super speed towards Diana.

Diana used her right hand to punch Courtney to the ground with her super strength. In a moment she sensed something more werewolves on their way. She saw that they were hundreds of them. She remembered the words of her Mom saying that she had just a mission to target the royals only for the meantime till her next instructions from Gerald from the afterlife.

Diana knew if she had to fully obey that instruction she has to be quick with what she came to do. Immediately William who had moved to Diana's back with super speed bit her shoulder while Diana in pain shrugged him off sending him flying in the air and landing on the ground. The lounge room was already in ruins as Courtney and John charged together at Diana.

Diana's bitten shoulder healed immediately as she dropped her sword to the ground and caught Courtney and John with both hands. Courtney on her right hand and John on her left. William rose from the ground and used his super speed to run towards where Diana's sword is and picked it up. William smiled signalling at John and Courtney who were still held by Diana.

William thought about the moment that it was time to avenge his family by slaying the slayer with her weapon. William's joy turned to pain as the sword burned his hands. "Arrrrrh!" William screamed in pain. Diana on hearing and knowing what happened, threw Courtney and John sending them crashing the walls of the lounge room left side and facing William.

William was on the floor still in pain and a little bit paralyzed. The scurrier had done much damage to him. Diana thought about what her Mom said from the afterlife about how Gerald created the scurrier not to be held by a werewolf talkless of a royal alpha unless it would be dangerous for it. William knew the only way he could overcome the pain temporary was to transform into a full werewolf, but he was too late as Diana sent the scurrier through his heart.

John and Courtney who were powerless through the time William was attacked and killed finally got their strength. Courtney rose and charged towards the side of Diana and William but was caught by John. "He is gone we have to leave we will return, let's leave and return for revenge or William's death would be for nothing," John said as he and Courtney transformed into werewolves.

John and Courtney's transformation was very fast as they came out in werewolf forms from their clothes and escaped through the back door. Diana saw this and attempted to charge with the super speed at both John and Courtney until she sensed the werewolves' presence in the surrounding. "They are already here," Diana thought to herself as she touched her red cloak with her right hand and disappeared.

Courtney and John returned to the mansion to meet the werewolves some of them had transformed into human forms. Courtney in anger killed five of the werewolves removing their hearts from their place. "Courtney don't," William said spitting out blood, his face was bruised and he was generally in bad shape. Courtney was shocked to discover William was still alive.

Courtney charged forward to where William was kneeling beside him and raised his head and rested it on her lap. "Stay with me William, we could still save you," Courtney said amidst tears in her eyes. "I could try healing you," John said facing William. "No it's too late, there is no cure for the scurrier when it pierces a royal's heart," William said. "You have to regroup, with this amount of werewolves, you would need them the next time you go against Diana so don't murder them please," William said.

"It's been an honour knowing you Sir William," John said shedding tears. "Same here John," William said shaking John's hands. "The fate of our family rests on you now Courtney, so since you are the last Royal alpha of the Adams family your powers would manifest soon, " William said. "Take care you both," William said as he closed his eyes and gave up the ghost.

Courtney was blinded by the massive amount of tears she shed even though she was comforted by John. She couldn't control herself with the grief. "William please wake up!" She said. "He is gone Courtney, he is gone. It remains two of us now to regroup, I will inform my family in Lincoln city so we could move there till we plan to avenge your family,". John said as he hugged Courtney who was weak from mourning her dead brother.

"Werewolves, after we bury my brother, we shall all move together to Lincoln city to plan and regroup to destroy Diana," Courtney said as she carried William in her arms. John volunteered to carry William in her stead but Courtney refused. "It would be last time with him let me use it all even though he is gone," Courtney said facing John who agreed and they all exited the mansion one after the other with Courtney and John still carrying William.

Diana returned to her inn in a black coat and black trousers. She remembered what her family told her from the afterlife and swore to only put on the red cloak when she is facing werewolves, especially a royal alpha. Diana went straight to her room. Kept the bags containing her red cloak, scurrier and her other weapons near her bedside.

Diana turned back to the bag's direction when it glowed a red light and picked it up. "Mom!" Diana said with elation. "Hello dear, I see you have killed their royal leader," Rosemary said as she appeared on Diana's scurrier. "Yes I did, but I still failed I wasn't able to kill Courtney who is now the last Royal werewolf," Diana said.

"I know dear, but you did do well I'm your first mission, am so proud," Rosemary said. "Thanks, Mom," Diana said. "Your Aunt Viola would be giving instructions from Gerald next," Rosemary said her appearance disappearing from the scurrier and Viola's appearance showing on the scurrier. "Aunt Viola!" Diana said with excitement. "Hello sweet Diana," Viola said with elation.

"I see you have been doing well, and all of us here in the afterlife are proud of you but you have just started your destiny as the last Whitefield werewolf slayer towards an unknown fate," Viola said. "So since you would be facing your first last werewolf Royal alpha of a family you have to be ready remember your training and let your instincts lead. Also, don't forget to use the power of the scurrier and let it feed into your hunger for the deaths of werewolves leading you directly unto victory against the werewolves" Viola said. " Yes Aunt Viola," Diana said.

"Take care Diana, your Mom still wants to speak with you," Viola said her face exiting the scurrier and Rosemary's appearance showing on the scurrier. "Dear, there is something you should know about a message from Gerald," Rosemary said. "What is it, Mom?" Diana asked curiously. "During your mission, while you would be journeying across the cities of Nebraska state, you would finally meet your true love. You would meet someone new you had never loved so much before," Rosemary said.

"I know James was your first love and you are still mourning him, but this message is meant to inspire hope that you would meet another love during your mission," Rosemary said. "What difference does it makes," Diana so indifferently. "Would he be a werewolf like James also?" Diana added. "Gerald didn't tell me," Rosemary said. "He only told me to tell you that on your way to your destiny that is meant to be your fate, to fall in love again deeply," Rosemary added. "Alright Mom I have heard you I love you Mom," Diana said. "I love you too dear, take care and good luck," Rosemary said as she disappeared from the scurrier.

Diana lay on her bed and thought about James. She thought about how his family members used him against her and she hated his family for that. James would still have been alive if his family members hadn't done what they did. She swore to kill them all and she had almost accomplished the task. Just one more to go she thought to herself.

The next night Diana ran with super speed across the woods towards Courtney's house. The anger and hunger to kill her filled her up as she super jumped to where the Adams mansion was. She broke the locked gates with a single blow sending and opened the gates. She then went towards the entrance of the lounge room and kicked open the locked door with her super strength. She couldn't smell or send any werewolf or Royal alpha around or any sign of Courtney around.

Diana went forward towards a note that had her name written boldly on it. She opened the letter and read its contents. It read: " Diana you have taken everything from me and since you don't have anyone I can make you feel the same way I felt. I promise to give you a lifetime of suffering and misery before you finally die. I promise it would be a slow death and I will always hunt you even if it takes hundreds of years for me to finally destroy you, Courtney," Diana read the contents and tore the letter into pieces. "Bring it on," Diana said to herself as she left the Adams mansion.

Present Day Lincoln City

"What difference does it make if your sword glows and everywhere turns red," Courtney said facing Diana. The bodies of the fallen werewolves she had under her command littered the ground area. They were still in the woods at the night. Courtney was able to wisely summon just one hundred werewolves for the time being even if she could summon more, but she felt sad because the werewolves that came to her aid were the same she that she went away with one hundred years with John to Lincoln City altogether.

Courtney thought about the times they spent together and hated Diana more. "The difference is the general prophecy that on the day the last werewolf of a royal family face off a last royal alpha of the family everywhere would turn red and the eyes of the royal alpha would sparkle with electricity in its eyes," Diana said.

"Still, I promised you a lifetime of misery and pain, and it's about to begin," Courtney said as she transformed into a huge werewolf bigger and taller than Diana and her eyes sparkled with white electricity. "Behold, the powers of the last royal werewolf of the Adams family," Courtney said using the connection. Diana heard it using the connection too.

Diana charged toward Courtney in her werewolf form who growled so loud sending Diana flying across the air and landing destroying five huge trees at the same time. Courtney had changed back into a human and worn her clothes and was now charging toward Diana who rose from the ground.

Diana remembered what her Mom told her about Royals who have equal strength and powers in their half-werewolf state same as their full-werewolf state. Courtney came close to her with super speed laying several punches and sending her flying across the air again this time smashing a wall. Courtney picked up the scurrier from the ground and went closer to Diana who was surprised that she wasn't hurt.

"Surprised?" Courtney said facing Diana as she pointed the sword towards Diana who rose gradually from the smashed wall. "I guessed your ancestors didn't tell you from their afterlife about the last royal alpha being able to hold the sword of the royal werewolf slayer only," Courtney said smiling. "Well, mine told me," Courtney said charging toward Diana.

Diana rose cleaning the blood that came out of a cut on the side of her mouth. She remembered how William was almost paralyzed after holding the scurrier. She remembered that her Mom said something similar to the last royal werewolf being able to handle the scurrier but she didn't believe it then. She suddenly threw three magical boomerang knives at Courtney.

Courtney on seeing the knives used her swords to block one of the knives with super speed and hit the second one making it pass her by. She then caught the third one and smiled at Diana. "Is this all you have got?" Courtney said still holding the knife that was struggling to return to Diana. "No, I still have one more," Diana said. "What!" Courtney said confused not knowing the second knife she had hit to pass her by had reached her back and stabbed her behind.

Courtney felt a sharp immense pain as she knelt with one knee letting go of the knife as it returned to Diana. Diana also controlled the knife from Courtney's back as it returned to Diana with Courtney's blood splashing across the ground. "Arrrrrh!" Courtney screamed in pain as she managed to rise but was caught by a hit from Diana who charged at her with super speed and strength sending her flying in the air and crushing seven trees at the same time.

Diana charged forward to where Courtney was to finish her off until a figure came in to pick Courtney up and used super speed to carry her away from the scene. Diana discovered that it was John Courtney's lover. Diana threw the boomerang knife and it came back to her without any blood. "Arrrrrrgh! Courtney!!!" Diana said as she pursued them.
