Chapter 2 Even killing the man in your heart

She riddled the single silver back plate with knife marks. Blood covered Shirina Louis. Kaytlyn Louis was afraid of blood flowing into the baby's body, so she quickly reached out and pulled it out. Kaytlyn Louis's face was very calm, without fear after the murder.

Shirina Louis hugged her baby so tightly that Kaytlyn Louis couldn't take the baby. She angrily squeezed the baby's tiny arm, gritting her teeth.

"Dead still bothering others. Disgusting stepchildren!"

The watch on Kaytlyn Louis' wrist was hooked to Shirina Louis' heirloom necklace. The stone slipped from the rope, falling into a pool of fresh blood on the floor. With the naked eye, we can see that the stone sucks blood around on the floor into it at a dizzying speed.

"What the hell..." Kaytlyn Louis jerked her hand away in panic, falling backwards.

The yellow light that shot out from the stone covered the entire room, spreading rapidly throughout the hospital and sending out a loud explosion that shook the entire city.

An explosion resounded at the same time Shirina Louis' consciousness regained consciousness. She stood in a quiet yellow light. Behind, in front and around, there was no sound.

It took her a few seconds to remember what had happened.

"Where is my child? Give me back my baby!" The first thing she thought of was her baby boy. She ran forward like crazy, crying and screaming in pain.

Shirina Louis ran straight ahead. The path was unobstructed but filled with fragments of memories as small as the black and white screens projected in front of her.

She begged Kaytlyn Louis. "Sister! Carl Charles loves you very much. Don't play with his feelings, okay?"

"What if he loves me so much? Do you think an orphan like him is worthy of me?"

"Carl Charles is an orphan, but he always tries his best to study. He also graduated from the best medical university in the country with you..."

"Only bastards born of prostitutes value poor orphans. I know you love him. It's a pity he doesn't want to be mean like you."

Kaytlyn Louis discovered that Shirina Louis had a crush on Carl Charles, so she often mocked and lashed out at her.

Kaytlyn Louis's sarcastic laughter extended to the sight of Shirina Louis waking up naked. Sitting next to him was the icy back of Carl Charles. Shirina Louis is heartbroken when she discovers her sister sees her and Carl Charles as entertainment. She lowers the drug and sets a trap that causes the two to have a relationship. She would never forget the cold, disgusted look of Carl Charles that day.

Carl Charles slapped her and said.

"Skittish! Turns out this is your way of love? Dare to drop drugs to crawl on my bed! Disgusting!"

Shirina Louis was born to a prostitute. Her ugly identity made her suffer all kinds of abuses and injustices. Carl Charles doesn't believe her. Kaytlyn Louis mocks her.

"No need to thank me for helping you crawl into Carl Charles's bed. The orphan and the prostitute, it's a good match. You're just like your mother, just a girl for men to play with. Ha ha ha."

The scene is constantly changing. Carl Charles is a responsible man, so he agrees to marry her.

On the wedding night, Shirina Louis sat alone, crying all night. Her husband went to the bar to drink alcohol to relax. Carl Charles took all the blame on Shirina Louis. Because she traps him, Kaytlyn Louis angrily leaves the country. He did not know all but the cruel tricks of Kaytlyn Louis.

Kaytlyn Louis was always a good light in Carl Charles' eyes. Shirina Louis in his eyes was just dirty, lying.

When Kaytlyn Louis returned home, Carl Charles immediately divorced Shirina Louis, offering her son as a test subject.

This broke Shirina Louis's heart. The painful marriage wasn't as important as her son, which didn't stop her from running forward. Shirina Louis ran until her body was exhausted, collapsing to the ground. She clutched her chest, panting, her eyes red and swollen from crying too much.

"Do you want to save your son?" Suddenly, a voice rang in Shirina Louis' ears. She looked around in horror. She was sure someone trapped her in the yellow light, unable to escape.

"Who? Why do you know my child?"

"Do you want to save your son?" Mechanical voice, no emotion repeated a second time.

"What must I do to save my son?" Shirina Louis shouted without thinking. She didn't need to know if this was real or a dream. What she cares about is her son's life.

The mechanical sound of laughter. The laugh was hoarse, like the voice of an old man who had not opened his mouth to speak for a long time. It sounds mournful.

"You're already dead. Your sister killed you. This is the truth."

Shirina Louis knows sounds don't lie. She died under dozens of cruel knives.

"They took your son as a test subject. It died on the first test."

Shirina Louis clenched her hands into fists. She gradually stopped crying, a light of determination flashed quickly. She spoke with her throat torn from crying.

"Please tell me how to save my son. I will do anything."

"Even killing the man in your heart?"

The image of a knife stuck in Carl Charles' left chest passed over Shirina Louis's head. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. As soon as she opened her eyes, she crumpled the pain and hurt deep into the depths of her eyes. She raised her head to answer.

"Right."

The old laughter rang out again. "You'll probably die before you can save your son."

Shirina Louis furrowed her brows curiously about the method of saving her son.. The lower eyelids obscured the emotion in her eyes. For someone with the ability to save her son's life, Shirina Louis didn't intend to hide her thoughts. She emphasized every word, so tenacious.

"My son is my lifeline. The baby's life is more important than mine."

"Okay. After we sign the spirit contract, I'll help you save your son."

"Sign how?"

Shirina Louis had just finished speaking when a knife appeared in front of her. Intuition made her know what she needed to do. She slashed her palm, blood trickling to the ground along the blade. Before it hit the ground, the yellow light swallowed the blood. The wound in the hand's palm quickly closed. The pain made Shirina Louis know this wasn't a dream.

The mechanical sound continued.

"I am the soul of the Louis family heirloom stone. Her blood activated the energy in me. One activation is one time protection of the owner's life. My energy brought her back to life. I could save your son's life with enough energy."

"How can I replenish enough energy for... sir?" Shirina Louis asked excitedly.

"The universe contains many parallel worlds, including Earth. "Black Star" is the source of energy that sustains the world. Her mission is to go to other worlds to capture the Black Star. Find enough Black Star, you will activate me. You have three seconds to start the Dark Star harvesting quest."

"What does blackness look like?"

"Three seconds countdown begins."

"How many Black Stars does it take to recharge?"

"Three."

"How do I return to the real world when I find the Dark Star?"

"Two."

"Hey, answer me!"

"One."

At the end of the dry count, all the surrounding yellow light was absorbed into Shirina Louis' body. The speed at which the body devoured the light was as fast as the blink of an eye. Shirina Louis did not regain her spirit when the heirloom stone threw her to a strange place.

"Careful!" The deafening roar pierced her brain, causing Shirina Louis to turn her head in surprise.

A three meter tall chimpanzee charged towards Shirina Louis. It opened its mouth full of sharp teeth as if it wanted to bite off her head.
