Chapter 5 DUMB ME

ANNA JACKSON

Shit!

Shit!

Shit!

Five minutes are remaining. I should not have gone to speak with the homeowner just now. I'm hoping to get to work on time.

Oh, Sweet Jesus, please assist me just this once.

I was sprinting so quickly that all of the security outside the estate was gazing at me, amused. I then checked my watch.

Shit!

Two minutes.

I walked inside the home and sighed as I approached the living room.

"FINALLY!" I exclaimed. I had a triumphant grin on my face. I was panting severely. I immediately glanced at myself and saw two pairs of eyes looking at me to say, 'Are you crazy?'

Oh my God! He has returned home. But why is he back? He's supposed to be at his office right now.

"Hello to both of you," I said, sighing.

Mr. Parker shook his head, and Ryan turned away from me to gaze at his Daddy dear. Mr. Parker then rose from his seat, holding Ryan in his arms, and approached me, standing in front of me. He then checked his watch.

"I'm on time; you can't fire me," I said without waiting for him to respond.

"I get what you mean, but do you regularly crash at work like this?"

Crash?

"Oh, I was rushing late, so I came dashing in, and then I noticed the door open, so I rushed in," I apologized, looking down.

"Maria," he said. Maria emerged from the kitchen and took a seat near me. He then removed Ryan from his arms. Then he stood there with his hands in his pockets, saying, "I hope you've already met Miss Jackson."

Maria nodded.

When he began giving her directions, I had the opportunity to look at him.

He's so fucking blazing hot, dude. Anyone may be caught in those sea-colored eyes, then sliding down to his gorgeous nose, his lips are so pink, No Anna halt. Shu Shu.50 Dirty thoughts

I have no recollection of that night, whether I kissed him or not.

Okay, I understand. I understand. I'm a total pervert.

I began to imagine how it would feel if he kissed me right now. Pulling me by the waist in front of everyone standing here, then our lips met. Our lips brushed against one other softly. His grip on my waist tightened, drawing me closer to him, my hands flitting over his wide back, his hands-

"Anna," a familiar voice interrupted my reverie. I turned to find Maria beckoning me and motioning for me to face Mr. Parker. When I turned around, I saw him sigh.

"Huh?" I said, perplexed.

"Stop spacing out; I don't like it," he remarked angrily.

"Sorry."

I need to quit thinking about such filthy things. He has a child, for God's sake.

He is, however, single.

No. No. No. Stop. I should quit listening to Nanny.

"Take care of him since I'm going."

I agreed by nodding. He then knelt in front of Ryan and kissed his brow.

"Dad will be there shortly; take care."

Ryan nodded like a good little boy.

Aww. He's adorable.

Mr. Parker then began to make his way towards the exit. Suddenly, a notion occurred to me.

I'll have to question him about it. Otherwise, I'll keep thinking about it.

"WAIT!" I exclaimed. He paused.

The ladies cleaning the home came to a halt and glanced at me. Ryan and Maria were both staring at me with wide eyes. With my hand, I slapped my mouth. Mr. Parker bowed his head, his brow furrowed.

What am I going to do with you? Who in their right mind yells at their boss?

"Umm... sorry," I murmured, nervously laughing. "I really wanted to ask you a question."

"What?" he asked angrily.

"Could we please chat in private?"

"No, we can't. Just repeat it."

"You don't get it. It's a private matter, and I won't take long."

"No, Miss Jackson; say it here."

"But-"

"Can you do it quickly? I don't have all day for you."

"It's a private party, Mr. Parker."

"Say it, Miss Jackson."

If he wants me to ask him in front of everyone, that's OK.

"Did we have any sex that night?" I inquired. Finally!

His pupils dilated. He looked at me with disbelief. All the servants and Maria staring at me horrifiedly switched their gaze to Mr. Parker. Ryan, too, gave Mr. Parker a puzzled look. I'm waiting for his response. He clenched his teeth and peered around the room, then at mine.

I smiled innocently at him.

I warned him, but he ignored me.

I can see he was attempting to keep his cool. "No, Miss Jackson, we didn't have sex that night," he eventually responded.

Batman, Batman, Batman! That implies that I am still a virgin.

Hell yeah!

Yass!

Yass!

Yass!

"OH MY GOD! YASSSSSSSSSIn annoyance, he closed his eyes. I grabbed Ryan, standing next to me, and swirled with him. "Did you hear that? We didn't have sex that night. Jesus! I still can't believe it. Yass!!"

I said to him as I twirled around with him.

As though he comprehends everything.

Then, when the place went quiet, I returned to my senses.

Oh my God!

I immediately cleared my throat, set Ryan down, and stood tall in front of Mr. Parker. He fixed his gaze on me. I instantly lowered my gaze. He then walked away without saying anything.

I laughed.

Ryan gave me a strange look. I averted my gaze, disregarding all of his stares. He dashed back to his room.

Jesus, I adore you. Thank you a lot. I am still unmarried.

Wait. That indicates he didn't kiss me on that particular night.

It made me feel slightly melancholy. But why is that? I brushed my thoughts aside and walked to Ryan's room, where I found him sitting on his bed, deep in meditation.

What exactly is he thinking?

I approached him and sat next to him.

"Hey, I know we've met before, but let's introduce ourselves again and see if we can be friends."

He glanced at me.

Come on, kid. Keep going; you're doing great.

"Do you enjoy cookies?" I inquired.

He didn't stop glancing at me. Then I got a box from which Nanny had placed some cookies for me and handed it to him.

He took a long look at the cookies before saying, "Thank you, Miss Jackson, but Dad told me not to accept anything from strangers."

Stranger? Me? Did he just refer to me as a stranger?

"I'm not a stranger; I'm your babysitter; take them."

His head trembled.

Daddy's little boy.

"Okay, if you don't want them, I'll just have them," I said, taking a mouthful and muttering. "Mmm... this is delicious."

He stared at me again, then at the cookies. "Let me tell you, my Nanny prepares the tastiest cookies globally; your bad luck if you refuse them."

He then sprang out of bed and raced out of the room.

Why can't he simply say something? He still has such an exquisite voice.

I despise obstinate children!

Anyway, if he doesn't want them, I should eat them. "Mmm... Nanny, you are the finest," I said as I took another piece.

I spent the whole day investigating the home. This proved one thing: this place is incredible. This mansion screamed riches from every angle.

But I adore one location in the home: the rooftop, complete with a swimming pool and the most excellent view.

I was going to depart at 7 p.m. when I saw a room.

What's inside? Mr. Parker's room and office are also upstairs. I don't believe this room has anything to do with Mr. Parker.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I couldn't stop myself. I walked inside the room and knocked many times but received no response. I twisted the latch and was ready to enter the door when a voice behind me interrupted me.

"Curiosity killed Miss Jackson' cat."

My body tensed. I turned slowly around to find Mr. Parker standing in front of me, hands in his pants pockets. I bit my lower lip. I expected him to be furious when I glanced at him. His expression was emotionless. He then began heading toward me, and I stepped back. This continued until my back collided with the door. Then he put one hand on my side.

"What was rule number three, Miss Jackson?" His face was so near mine that my breath caught in my throat. Why couldn't I answer his question? Because I was more concerned with the space between us.

"I asked you something again, Miss Jackson," he continued.

"T-that t-there are forbidden spots i-in the home where I shouldn't g-go."

"It seems you recall the regulations; this chamber is one of those restricted regions, so think twice before getting in trouble."

I simply gazed at him. I became caught in those sea-colored eyes. Mr. Parker is the only man who has ever had such an impact on me. I feel anxious when I'm near him. I'm not sure what this emotion is, but it's distinct. I've never felt this way about anyone.

"Understood?" he inquired once more.

I agreed by nodding. "Yes."

"Good." He eventually steps back when he realizes how near we are. "I believe you should leave Miss Jackson," he added, clearing his throat.

I agreed by nodding.

"Please be on time tomorrow."

Tomorrow? Shit! I forgot about the home relocation.

Tomorrow is Sunday, by the way. Today is my day off.

"Umm... Mr. Parker, tomorrow is Sunday, and it's my day off."

He raised his brows at me and nodded, signaling me to depart. I was ready to leave when a thought occurred to me.

Not ever again.

This time it's for real.

"Mr. Parker, I just wanted to ask you a question."

He nodded as if asking me to keep going.

"Umm... I know it's none of my concern, but could you just explain why Ryan is acting this way?"

"Like what?" he inquired, perplexed.

"Like he's always alone. No friends, nothing. I've tried to speak to him many times, but he answers my queries with a nod or more than that 'No Miss Jackson' and 'Thank you, Miss Jackson.' And hate to complain Mr. Parker, but you've taught him some pretty awful manners."

He furrowed his brow.

"Today, I gave him cookies, but he answered, 'Thank you, Miss Jackson, but Dad has told me not to accept anything from strangers,'" I said, mimicking Ryan's words.

"So, what's the problem with that?" he inquired.

"What's wrong? Everything is wrong. I am not a stranger. I am his babysitter, and he could've eaten those cookies, and I know he wanted to eat them, but since you taught him that, he refused the cookie and ran out of the room."

"OK, I'll tell him now that you are no stranger," he rolled his eyes, "anything else?"

"Yeah, what's with him being so quiet?"

"I don't know. He's happy when I'm around. And Miss Jackson, don't worry about these things. I know how to take care of my kid. You can go now." He glanced at his watch and stated, "My driver will be dropping you off. It's late."

"No problem, I can handle anything."

"I wasn't asking; he'll let you go."

I nodded and sighed.

He then walked upstairs, leaving me behind.

Rude!

Arrogant!

Jerk!
