THIRD PERSON POV.
" Relax, I'm not into naive girls," he said, breaking the silence.
" You are really something," she muttered, throwing the rest of the glass pieces. " Continue like this and you could end up single," she added, storming out.
She heads to the bathroom, placing her palms on her chest, steadying her beating.
" Mind what you put in my head, dear brain," she said." Maybe a shower would calm me down," she thought to herself, taking off her clothes, walking to the shower.
Few minutes later, she comes out, dressing in the bathroom to avoid being cut and head downstairs as she hasn't heard from him since.
She finds him prepping the dinner table. " Food is ready," he says. " You cook?" She asked, surprised by what was presented in front of her.
" Well I do, but this I ordered," he admitted as she laughed. " Come on, you know you don't have any of this," he says pointing at the food.
"I heard you, Mr supposed chef," she teased, sitting down to eat. " I placed the bill in your name," he says, sitting down.
Ignoring her gazes as he could feel her eyes on him. She scoffs, grabbing her chair and seating down.
" For someone injured, you do have a lot of mind," she says, as she begins to eat.
" For someone I took a bullet for, you do complain," he says. " How long do you plan on using that line?" She asked.
" Till my injury heals," he replied. Jessica brought out her fingers, calculating the day's.
" Well, three days have passed, so you have four days," she informs.
" Then I will use it till the four days elapses," he says. She rolled her eyes, resuming her food.
" Well, I'm going to complain till the fourth day," she says. " Like for example, you should have left the food in the disposable plates, not in the ceramics, giving me work," she complains.
" Your gender just has a backup for everything, you know begging me not to, would have stopped me," he says.
" My pride won't let me," she says, with her head high and her fingers up, illustrating her pride, as he shook his head.
They finished the food in a comfortable silence, glancing at each other for a long time.
" Bedtime," she says, placing her plate in the kitchen. " What about the plates?" He asked.
"There is tomorrow," she answered, placing his plate on the sink and dragging him out of the kitchen.
" I can help with that," he offered. " I know and you will watch it tomorrow," she says.
" My sleep is really important to me and you mister have put a scary movie in my head," she informs, shutting the bedroom window.
" Don't tell me that you are still scared," he asked as she didn't answer, causing him to laugh.
" I would sleep on the couch," he offered. " I'm good on the a,"qq1q a.
àe didn't let you sleep because of your shoulder," she went on. As she laid on the couch, covering herself.
Reluctantly, he headed to the bed, laying on it as he stared at the ceiling.
" You're still up," Jessica had asked minute's later. " Can't fall asleep?" He questioned.
" I can't get those images off my head," she replied. " Should I cuddle you," he asked.
" Don't worry, I don't bite," he mocks. " Have you cuddled anyone before?" She questioned, unsure why she had asked.
" No, you would be my first," he honestly replied. His words followed with a couple of silence, till Jessica stood up and joined him on the bed.
He spread out his arm, as she lay on it, trying to keep a distance between their bodies.
Damon laughed, as he pulled her to his chest, using his hand to keep her from leaving.
" Relax and enjoy being the first girl and only girl to be cuddled by me," he says in a prideful tone.
She smiled, her cheek turning red, as she closed her eyes, opening them after a failed attempt of trying to fall asleep.
" I still can't sleep," she admitted. " Close your eyes and breath, counting anytime you exhale," he instructed.
"1, 2,3....," Her voice tone reduces the higher she goes and finally dozing off before she could reach ten.
Damon hugged her tighter, kissing her forehead, as he closed his eyes, falling asleep.
Two days gone and the pair got closer, having a similar routine of waking up, eating, having fun and cuddling at night..
Although Jessica had gotten over her fear, she didn't want to lose the licences of sleeping in his hands, and so she still pretended to be scared.
This morning, the door bell had gotten them out of bed earlier than usual.
She heads down and opens the door to find Jane, waiting in her door. Her eyes immediately change, the feeling of rage coming instantly.
" How did you find me?" She questioned in an annoyed tone. " A little tracing, a food was delivered here with your card name," she replied.
" Then why are you here?" She question. " Your hospital called me, they think we are still close, and wanted me to check up on you," she replied.
" Look, Jess, can we talk," Jane requested.. " Fine," she replied. Stepping out of the house.
"I can't believe a little betrayal put you in this condition," Jane said.
" A little," Jessica repeated. " Come on Jessica, you are way too soft, pretending to be innocent, pretending to be pure and you go everywhere, making everyone like you," she went on.
" Was that why you slept with him?" Jessica question. " No, a lot more. I just couldn't understand why being an orphan would be a privilege," she replied.
" You know I took you in as a friend out of pity, but you just couldn't stay in your place, you just couldn't maintain your lane as an unfortunate being,"
" You made my parents like you, I have been trying to get my father's love for years and you came, taking it within a month. In return I took something you treasure," she added.
" Unfortunate," Jessica mumbled, tears rolling down her cheek. " Yes unfortunate," Jane confirmed.
" However, I plan on being nice, I would give George back to you, I know you see him as your world. However, I would do this, only if you beg me. I want you to kneel down in front of the public, licking my shoes," Jane requested.
" You have no one backing you, unlike me who has a wealthy father, when you get your answer, come and find me," she finishes, walking to her car.
Jessica got back in, to find Damon standing in front of the door. " How long have you been there?" She weakly asked.
" Just long enough to hear her rubbish," he replied.
" What do you plan on doing?" He questioned.
" Do I have a choice, compared to her parents, I'm a nobody," she muttered.
" Or you can be somebody, I can make you powerful, giving you a mighty title, one everyone ever wanted," he offers.
" And what would that post be," she questioned, out of curiosity.
" You being my woman," he replied. " Be my woman and you won't experience pain," he says.
" Is either that or I walked out of here, what would that be," he questioned.
