Chapter 10 MY NAME IS EDEN RUPERT

"I'll do the deal but it has to add some conditions." I firmly said.

I'm not impulsive like her, my grandmother's life is still in danger, and I can't risk it. But at least, I don't want to be a puppet for her to control.

"First and foremost, you must treat my grandma extremely well over the duration of the agreement, and you must do all possible to ensure that it goes well. Every day, I will actively contact the doctor to follow her recuperation progress. Second, once the contract expires, my grandma and I will go discreetly. We will no longer be linked. I shall have no contact with Rupert's relatives."

"If I do not satisfy the above two requirements, I will not be able to execute this work, and your kid will have no other options. I am a very private and trustworthy person, and I will not breach the contract on my own."

That's right, it must be completed as soon as possible. Otherwise, when she gets her conscious, she'll realize she's the one who holds the true power; all she has to do is wave her hand, and my life might not be much better than the punished servant's. I have nothing to threaten her save the fact that I am not worth a dime. It was an uneven battle since I was hazy about it myself.

She promptly accepted my demands, as I expected.

Documents and procedures are provided. The agreement has been updated and signed.

Finally, the hilt belongs to me. That is sufficient. Now all I have to do is live quietly as young master Eden for a long time.

"The task has been completed. You are free to leave. You will start school the next week and complete all of the tasks we have assigned to you. Goodbye." Butler Smith bowed and said.

"Get out of the way, little demon. I pray I don't see your face again in this house." The woman was still irritated.

I nodded slightly. After taking two steps, I suddenly turned around, smiled, and said:

"Do you know, Lady Rupert-"

"Actually, the place we were only passing through."

"There's no such thing as a portrait."

What... Lady Rupert sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Also, Mr. Smith, can you arrange someone to take me home?"

"You still have a thick face to request that we take you home..." She was enraged.

"Now that we're business partners, let me walk alone at night because if something awful occurs, you won't lose."

"You... you..."

In less than an hour, the lady was repeatedly irritated to the point of choking. The butler groaned, this little miss really has the ability to make people admire. He also wanted to get this narrative over with as soon as possible, so he caved:

"Please have a rest, my lady; I will make the necessary arrangements and take care of the rest."

And so the black carriage slowly brought me back to my old house. But unlike in fairy tales, the princess Cinderella did not turn into a princess, but rather into a handsome prince.

It was almost morning. I gently pulled the curtains. The early morning sun shines on the door frame, signaling a very beautiful morning. Too many things fall on the shoulders of a 17-year-old girl. No one can imagine what I went through last night.

I hold in my hand a file on a man named Eden Rupert. According to the file, he was originally diagnosed by a doctor that he was in very poor health and would not live long. Why would a person who lives happily like him have some kind of illness ironically, I really don't know what he's going through. A creepy thought suddenly popped into my head. Will I be like him? I dreaded the thought that we were somehow related, after all. The rest of the information provided on this page seems to be a lot, but in fact, there is nothing at all. In addition to basic information such as height, weight, and blood type, there is no personality, hobby, or habit. Are they trying to make it difficult for me? How can I live his life when I don't understand his personality well. Did they not want to tell me or did they really not know? But I also had to comply with their wishes, for the good future of my grandmother and me.

Years ago, when I decided to move out of my uncle and aunt's house and live a completely independent life, I sketched out the future I envisioned a thousand times in my head. I rubbed my brow to remind myself. For many years, my life objective has been to graduate effortlessly, acquire a job, and enjoy a single life without having to worry about anything. Everything appeared to be going smoothly, monotonously, and as planned, but ever since then, the comparatively flawless future that no one can make stray from its orbit has been determined by fate.

After I finished reading, I placed the file on the table and went for the scissors. The only tenderness and delicacy I got from my mother was her long, lustrous brown hair, silky as silk.

"Snip, snip." The snipped curls slid brutally to the ground.

I look myself in the mirror and stroke my choppy haircut. It's peculiar. But I'll have to grow used to it. It seemed I was ready to live a new life, studying in a new school under a new identity.

And now...

Welcome to my new identity, Eden Rupert.
