Chapter 2 Love triangle

2

Abby wasn't always like that -Perfect. Before the whole mean glammed up.Back in middle school she was one of the many I grew up with. She was the biggest joke in middle school. The punchline of the class. With her braces and her funnily twisted pony tail hair. She was alone and everyone was in some kind of unspoken competition to get rid of the little smile she had on her face.

Then she lost her dad,and her mother got married to Mr Lumberman. The wealthiest man in Burryton. He was one of those few men who did practically nothing but a bit of everything. Politics,Investment, charity.

And after her mum got married to him, Abby vanished for about a year. Coming back, toned, curvy, and a whole new brand of attitude as the damsel we all know her to be now.

And beside her were her two minions, Meridith and Meg. Meridith was Asian American. She was like her leader, pretty. Like an upcoming Japanese music idol. One of the few idols with a generous bust though. But, she was a real short figure.Maybe that's why she was a lot meaner than Stacy or maybe it was just Stacy rubbing off on her.

And Meg; Meg was dark skinned. With her afro hair decorated with all sorts of hair clips. And her mouth was always doing wonders with a bubble gum.Sometimes she just blew the gum to put out more emphasis on what Stacy said.

She was always on her phone, Always. How she never ran into a pole or tripped over something is still a mystery even to me.She never said much and even when she did it was just one of the magic words. And like her cabal, she was pretty. And dare I say, prettiest.

They are the perfect trio of my set.Somedays it was a competition of cleavages, other days it was just a collaboration. But everyday it was a show.

Abby made her way into the middle of the hall while her squad walked behind her. When she needed everyone's attention, all she had to do was just walk across the hallway with a fake practiced look on her face, stepping with an epitome of magnificence and pride and that was it. She became the center of attraction.

"Good Morning, ladies" She yelled on top of her voice, disrespectfully calling the whole hallway to her attention. The one she solely already had.

"How was your weekend? Not that I care what you all do with your lives really, but I have a very very important announcement to make and I'm going to need your whole attention please." She pouted her lip.

"I ,Abby Lumberman have a very important announcement to make this afternoon in the cafeteria by lunch today so bring your asses around then. And try not to ponder on what its going to be,okay? Thank you all for your few minutes of worthless time, Toodles." she wiggled her fingers as she made her way through the crowd of anticipated teenagers.

She grabbed one of the bystanders by the shirt and winked at him. It was her ex, Adam Downey. The captain of the Rowdy bulls. The school's customary basketball team captain.

And unlike what you would expect,he was rude or cocky. He was the total opposite. Guess he was what some will call 'raised right'. He was cool, calm and to some extent free and accessible.

Maybe it was all for show,I would never know. I wasn't the kind to get close to someone as public as he was. There was one thing we heard, as the name of the captain was involved,it was prone to the ears of everyone.

He had issues. The anger type of issues.Over the summer, new gossip arouse from nowhere about his acts of burst and outraged. Beating up harmless people and violence in public spaces.

One way or another he always got himself in trouble for his outrage and the news always seem to spread. But it didn't ruin the love the students of burryton had for him.In fact it gave him more room for fear and respect. Maybe that's why he was loved,or feared.

But Abby was in love with him as they've shown at many illegitimate public events before. No one ever knew why he ended things with her but she clearly still wanted him back and she wasn't ashamed to show it.

Any sane person would have given anything he had to be with Abby and she would have to be with Adam again.

Triangle of life right?

They used to be Burryton's power couple, kissing at every public scene possible and for some reason Adam didn't want the school's most pricey chick anymore. What really happened, no one knows. No one cared to know, she was open and that's all that mattered.

"I'd love to see you there Adam" She whispered as she slowly let go of his shirt.

He shook his head, like he was disappointed and tried smoothening his clothing with his hands. As he looked up to walk to his own locker,he got rallied by the pair, right on the spot-- Todd and JJ. He would have given a tooth to have himself rescued.

"What's up man?" Todd said with a forced laughter.

He tried walking away from them but they followed right behind him.

"So what will it take a man like myself to get between the legs of Abby? I mean you've been there before, so you must know what it must have felt like, right"? He added.

" Yeah bro,we just want some insight on the course at hand" JJ added.

"Now is not really a good time Todd" Adam said as he shrugged his hands through his locker looking for what not, trying to cut them off his tail.

He slammed his locker and made way towards the classroom corridor while trying to accommodate his pests.

"Listen man, all we want is just a good advice from one good friend to another. Just a helping hand" Todd continued.

"We are not friends" Adam took a quick brake just to emphasize his point to his new followers. He picked up his pace even faster, towards his destination, knowing he has made his point to them.

"Well we could be! And really good ones at that!" Todd yelled from behind him and JJ found it appropriate to snort loudly while laughing.

Disgusting.

The first bell sounded within the premises of the school. It was the ice breaker to what ever activity was going on in the school premises. A reminder that the school was common ground and neither rich or weird it didn't matter where we were coming from.

The sound of the bell was above all. Both teacher and students. Reminded some of the purpose of why they were here and irritated most who had rescinded why they were there.

"I have to get to French class don't want anyone taking my blind spot" Vic said while he walked away.

"There's no blind spot in a classroom" I voiced out loud so it hopefully could sink in his ears.

As I looked back I saw Glenn pulling Adam out of the class he entered earlier. They both had wide smiles filled with giggles all over their face.

As she pulled him from his dispersed classroom corridor, I took my already concentrated focus on the display before me and walked into the classroom right in front of me and traced my seat.

It was Mr Blanc's class. The maths class. The most hated school subject.

Everybody got to their seat, while exchanging pleasantries or banters. All of which was just a sham.I sat at the last seat on the middle row between two people, whose names I haven't bothered to take seriously. I didn't deem it necessary to know their names, killing every seed of familiarity whatsoever that was bound to grow.

Mr Blanc walked in to the class room without apologizing for his few minutes of being tardy and the whole classroom fell silent. He was Spanish. Or looked it to me at least. He dropped his bag on the table and looked around. Spreading his intimidating stare into the hearts of hardened kids, saying a hundred words with his glance.

He paused,looked at me and asked;

"Where is Ms Stacy?" he said gesturing to the seat immediately in front of me.It was unoccupied and it belonged to Glenn.

"Do you know of her whereabouts Mr McCarthy?" he asked again while approaching me slowly, very slowly.

"I...I..uhmmm...I don't know where she is" I replied while trying to avoid contact between our eyes.

He got right beside and looked me dead in the eye. Like as if he was trying to read my mind.My body went cold. I felt my feet tapping, even though I wanted it to stop, my body didn't listen.

"But she resumed today with us,correct?" He added.

I felt the atmosphere around me get heavier. Every breath I took in was measured gently.

"I don't think I've seen Glenn around Sir" I forced out, trying to loosen up a bit.He let out a warm breath through his nostrils gently, put a smirk on his face and his palm on my table.

"When you do see her, tell her to report to my office McCarthy, will you?" He asked while I looked down on my table feeling guilty.

"Where were we?" He asked the class generally without giving me a chance for reply and making his way to the front of the class with more strides he used when coming to my desk.

He took out his books from his bag and the whole class opened theirs.

The bell rung again after its usual intervals.
