Chapter 5 5

Ramos

I loved Evelyn more than my own life and my own soul, and I was willing to die for her. However, after I had killed the alpha, I started to feel like I actually was dead. Because she was my true mate, I will never feel any guilt for rescuing her from the clutches of the alpha, but I never in a million years imagined that I would become a rogue or a killer! Never once in my entire life have I entertained the thought of intentionally killing or hurting another person.

I wasn't meant to be a fighter or a killer; I was born to be compassionate, watchful, and of service to others.

I was unable to forget the blood that was all around the alpha, nor was I able to forget the way the alpha breathed for the very last time.

I had some difficulty with it.

Plus, I felt like a wanted criminal and had to hide out in the shadows. No one would believe me in the pack ever. In order for them to believe me, I need to tell them everything that took place, even if it tarnishes Evelyn's reputation in the process. People in the pack would never even consider the possibility that Evelyn's brother sold her to the Alpha, and even if they did, the Alpha's luna would never allow Evelyn and me to live for more than a short period of time if they believed that to be the case. Because of this, the only option I had was to get away quickly.

It was the worst thing that could have happened to me, but she was fragile, and she wouldn't be able to stand living in another unknown territory. My fate and destination were both unknown to me, and leaving her behind was the worst thing that could have happened to me.

I had no choice but to stop her from following me, despite the fact that I didn't know for sure if her f***ing brother would sell her body again or not. However, I did give some money to my uncle so that he could assist her in living on her own until a later time.

Since we lived so close to the border of the pack's territory already, I intended to make my way through the forest on my way to the next nearest pack.

Because this pack was so well-known for producing wine, they frequently sought out new farmers and workers to join their workforce. I had heard a lot of good things about this pack. It was the most famous wine in the world, and the green warrior's pack was so big that it would be extremely difficult for anyone to locate me in there.

But before I could get into my car, I heard Evelyn yelling my name and saying, "Ramos! Stop. I would appreciate it if you could wait for me."

I was under the impression that it was an illusion and that she wouldn't be able to follow me. I requested that my uncle secure the door behind her and lock her inside the house. And I had no doubt in my mind that he would make every effort to keep her away from me for her own good.

I turned my head to look and saw her crying while running at full speed towards me as it was getting darker and it was almost after midnight already. Her voice had gotten louder again, and she was coming closer to me as she ran.

"Evelyn! Could it be you? " I let out a gasp. I had the uncomfortable sensation of my heart pounding in my chest. I wanted to embrace her and take her with me, but as her mate, it was my responsibility to keep her safe. I had to fight the urge to do both of those things.

So I didn't move an inch, wiped the tears that were welling up in my eyes, and said in a clear voice, "I told you to stay in the pack. What gives you the idea that you should follow me?

She was already my true mate; she was able to read my mind. Despite how much I wanted to act angry, and despite the fact that it was physically impossible for me to do so, I could not.

She threw her body against mine and sobbed as she clung to my shirt while saying, "you love me, and I love you. I can't let you go alone. I will accompany you wherever you go."

My heart was pounding so hard in my chest that it felt like hammers were being thrown at it with every word that came out of her charming mouth. I took a deep breath and looked into her eyes, which were as red as blood already. "But, I can't please understand me," I pleaded. " I solemnly swear that I will find a way to rescue you.

The word "no" came out of her mouth in a shrill voice. " I don't believe you. I am not going to let you go. Are you listening to what I'm saying?"

I made an effort to ease her away from me, but she cupped my cheeks and firmly stated, "If you left me now, I would kill myself." Despite my efforts, she remained firmly attached to me.

Her words appeared to be serious, and I was aware of the degree to which we both had an obsession with the other.

After taking a few slow, deep breaths, I nodded and said, "okay. Then let's go ahead and do it together, shall we?"

After giving her a passionate kiss, I pulled away and looked around; I was relieved to see that she appeared to have settled into a comfortable position. When she was ready, I opened the car door for her and said, "Okay, let's get in then."

But thank God she was there to help me; she quickly analyzed the situation and responded that "no, we cannot use your car. The traces can then be found more easily. We have no choice but to make our way through the forest, but before we do so, it is imperative that we cover our tracks."

I looked at her, perplexed because there was only one way to change the smell of our bodies, and that was to make love to each other. Because I had made a promise to her that we would not do it until after the official mating ceremony, the answer is that we had never done it before.

She glared at me for a while, and I was still considering it while I was staring at her. "what? Ramos? We have already decided to be each other's soul mates, and we have pledged to cohabitate for the rest of our lives. Therefore, why shouldn't we? It is something that we are able to do in the woods. But we can't afford to waste any more time."

The only question I could think to ask was, "Are you sure?" because that was all I could think to say.

I was very concerned that she would make a mess of her life as a result of what we had been through.

She nodded, shut the car door, pulled me deep into the forest, and then stopped behind one of the trees and said, "I am very sure. Unless you have changed your mind and no longer want to be with me. Because you gave up your chances of a successful future in order to safeguard mine, this is the very best I can do for you."

I sighed; there was no time; I looked around; my vision was so sharp, so I located a small cottage in the forest and said, "we can do it there. But we can't afford to linger here any longer. Let me ask you again, are you sure? There is still a chance for you to keep up with the rest of the pack and continue living your life."

Then, as she whispered in between her short breaths, "I am very sure," she gently rubbed her own lips against mine as she gave me an affectionate, lovely kiss that brought our spirits closer together. "I will always be yours, and you will always be mine."
