Chapter Five

I sat down quietly in the car with my mind running wild, I kept on wondering what this devil want from me and what he is scheming, what he said kept on playing on my mind and sending cold shiver down my spines.

"Where are you taking me".

He looked at me with a smirk on his face and didn't say a word, l was scared of what awaits me and the challenges I am going to face in my new Masters hand. The limousine made a turn and stopped, the door was flung open and we came out of the car, the mansion staring back at me was indeed magnificent, surrounded with beautiful flowers, before I could take a good look at the house a hand pushed me from behind.

"Move" he said.

I didn't wait to be told the second time..........I sprinted towards him as we made way to his sitting room.

"Take her to one of the rooms".

His men grabbed me and was about taking me forceful inside the room when he told them to stop

"Behave Matilda or I will end pitiful existence and your family".

Those words kept ringing in my head, I looked at his cold and mean demeanor and I knew I just had to play along for my family's sake.

"Go to your room and do as your told, if you ever try to escape I will hunt you down like an animal and kill you".

I was taken away to one of the rooms in the mansion. He shut the door after me and I was all alone. I threw myself on the floor as I cried my eyes out, I could not believe this was happening to me, it is just a dream, I said as I shut my eyes really tight, hoping and praying I will open my eyes to see my dad. I opened my eyes to the emptiness of the room. I thought about mom and how dad was going to cope without me, I knew it would not be easy since it is our first time apart but then again, I could not let the bastard kill my dad. It actually dawned on me that, this is now my life and it is now me against the this bastard and his cartel but then again what is his plans for me, I can't just tell. I cried till I dozed off to sleep. I woke with a splitting headache and a bang on the door, before I could say jack the door fling open and a man walked in

"You really look like shit".

I looked at him bewildered and not saying a word.

"I am Raymond castilo but you call me Ray".

I was still wondering where the conversation was heading to.

"I was told your name is Matilda Hoult, you can actually say something if your want to though".

He seemed a bit warm but then again I dont trust anyone here.

"It's ok if u don't want to say anything, but go freshen up and come eat breakfast".

I took one look at myself and I knew I had to take my bath, I was exhausted and tired to the bone from the crying and fighting of yesterday.

"You should put this on when you are done".

"Thanks", was all I could muster up to say.

"wow, finally she speaks".

I went to the bathroom without even saying a word, I came out of the room to only hear people arguing about something, I heard someone call my name then more argument, I stood there without moving an inch. The argument continued and that was when I heard Mace Hunter's voice and he said something about me joining the others.

Just then I heard My name, looked up only to see Ray looking at me.

"How long have been standing there".

"Just got out of my room, I don't know my way around".

"Get down here, and eat your breakfast" Mace thundered

I turned to tell him"Take your breakfast and shove it up your ass," when my tummy revolted.

I went down and sat beside Ray to eat.

"Here" , he handed me a plate of freshly baked pan cake, I heard you didn't eat anything last night.

I ate my meal quietly, I looked up, only to see those cold eyes circling me like a hawk.

I gathered up courage to ask him

"What will you do with me sir," he smiled.

"Ray will get you ready".

I turned to look at Ray and he is still busy with his meal.

I resented everyone in that house, but Ray seems a little bit warm with a human heart. After the breakfast I was told to go back to my room. I was in the room thinking about dad and Grace, I was imagining how they are taking this whole situation especially my Dad, I Wished there was a way to tell him that I am holding up and he should stop worrying about me. The door flew open and Ray entered.

"Matilda hope you are comfortable and you like the room".

"Really?"

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound unreasonable but even in the midst of the chaos you still need to be comfortable".

"What's his plans for me?"

"You shouldn't be concerned about that now".

"What does he mean by joining the others?"

"Where did you hear that from?"

"It doesn't matter Ray what does he want, is he going to sell me off to get his money back?"

"Matilda calm down".

"How can i be calm when I don't know my fate".

"He wouldn't throw me into prostitution right?"

"I'm sorry this is happening to you but that is entirely up to the capo to decide".

I fell right back into the bed in despair, who was going to save me, tears rolled down my cheeks.

"It's alright Matilda you will be fine".

I looked into his grey eyes and for the first time since I came to this horrible house, my nightmare, I felt safe.

"You don't belong here Ray?"

He smiled, "Why do you say that?"

"Your are warm and comforting unlike someone I know".

He smiled, " you don't know me or what your talking about besides The boss is nice and he is not always like that, you might just love him, if you get to know him".

"I would rather die than love him".

"Never say never Matilda".

Just the thought of me all lovey dovey with Mace Hunter after the horrible experience I had with him,made me want to puke my guts out.

He isn't that bad you know".

"He is Ray, could you change the topic because this one is making me really sick".

"Wow, alright if you say so".

We were still discussing, when we heard a knock on the door, then the door opened I was a bit relieved when it was not Mace who entered.

"The boss said, you should get her ready to move", said the man that walked in.

I was frantic, I looked at Ray immediately to get answers from him.

" What is he talking about? Move to where exactly Ray?"

"Calm down Matilda, its nothing, we just need to introduce you to others, since you are new that's all".

I dont know why I felt that Ray didn't want me to freak out, but I knew something was not right though. But for the fact that Ray wasnt saying anything threw me off.
