Chapter 5 Hurt and guilt

"It's ok mum, I love my school." I said.

"You know you can tell me the truth right? If you really do not feel comfortable in that school, then tell me. We'll take you to another school." She said. I didn't want her to know what was happening in my school, else she'll take me to another school and everyone would think that I'm a coward. I held her hands.

"Trust me mum, I'm fine with this school, it's just that the school uniform makes us look like clowns." I said and she laughed.

"Really?" she asked.

"Yes. Other than that, I'm fine with it. And I can take care of myself if that guy intimidates me. I won't make him think I'm a coward by going to another school." I said and she sighed.

"Ok, I've heard you... But if it's unbearable just tell me ok?" She said and fondled my cheeks.

"I will mum." I said.

~~~NEXT DAY~~~

Mum drove us to school and informed us that the driver would be the one to pick us up. I saw Daisy to her class and watched as her friends ran to her. I walked to my class and was puzzled as all eyes were on me. I didn't see the jerk and his minions, but the eyes of the students were fierce. I was a bit scared but I walked to my seat anyway. They continue glaring at me, some where whispering to themselves. What's going on? Am I in any sort of trouble?

The jerk came in with his minions. He didn't spare me a glance, he just walked pass me to his seat. One of the guys with him secretly squeezed a piece of paper in my hand and walked to his seat. I turned to him but his head was buried in his phone. I took the piece of paper under my desk and read it. It was written in bold letters.

"GET OUT OF THE CLASS RIGHT NOW."

Why is he asking me to leave the class? I slowly turned to him and he motioned with his hands secretly for me to leave. I looked at the students faces and gulped hard. I quickly took my bag and left the class. I hurried to the female restroom. I shut the door, panting for air. I just realized that I was running.

"What were they going to do to me?" I asked myself with my hand on my chest. It was beating so fast. I'm sure this was Jeremy's doing. He is really a jerk . What am I going to do now? I don't think I'll be able to go back to class right now. Why did his friend help me? Was it part of their plans? Oh jeez.

JEREMY'S P.O.V

Why did the bitch go out? Who told her about our plans? I'm so gonna deal with the snitch that told her about this.

"What happened J?" Violet asked.

"I seriously don't know." I said.

"Maybe she knew about it?" Crystal said.

"But how?" Violet asked. I stood up.

"Hey class, listen up. Who was the snitch that told the bitch about our plan? Huh?" I asked but no one responded. "No one?" I asked. "Well if I find out who did this, he or she will pay dearly for it." I said and sat down angrily.

"Don't worry, we'll think of another way to get her." Violet said.

"Yeah, whatever." I said.

KYLA'S P.O.V

I couldn't muster any courage to go back to class so I remained in the restroom till it was lunch break. I came out of the restroom.

"There's no way they'll be able to do anything to me... at least not now." I said to myself and walked out. I met Daisy and bought her snacks, then she went to play with her friends on the swing. I didn't want to sit at the cafeteria so I walked to the field. I saw the guy who alerted me to leave the class earlier. I surveyed everywhere and saw that he was alone, reading a book. I walked to him.

"Hi." I said to him and he looked up at me. He looked around, probably to see if his friends were around.

"Hi, how are you doing?" He asked.

"Fine." I said and sat beside him. He went back to his book. "Um.. Why did you ask me to leave the class earlier? Was there a plot against me?" I asked. He looked around and back at me.

"Yes." He said.

"What would have happened if I remained in the class?" I asked.

"You would have been beaten up." He said.

"Really? They'll all gather to beat up a girl?" I asked in astonishment. He smiled at me.

"Yes, they would... As long as J asks them to." He said.

"JeREMY, I know it." I said.

"I'll advice you to stay away from him and his troubles." He said. I looked at him.

"Why did you help me out?" I asked.

"Because you don't deserve it." He said.

"So if I deserved it you would have allowed them to beat me up?" I asked.

"What can I say? They are my friends, so yes." He said.

"Really?" I asked.

"I'm just kidding." He said with a smile, but the smile changed soon enough. I looked at the direction he was looking at. It was his friends. He quickly stood up.

"Gotta go?" I asked.

"Yes, I'm Brian by the way." He said and left immediately. How can Jeremy be so cruel?

"Hey." I turned to see Regina walking to me.

"Hi." I said and she sat beside me.

"I'm so sorry, I should have told you about their plans. If Jeremy had found out that I did, he would have..."

"I understand." I said and looked at them. They walked to a bench and the students there stood up for them and they occupied the bench. What nerves.

"Stop staring at them." Regina said.

"Why?" I asked and looked at her.

"They'll pick an offence. And you're not off the hook yet, so just let them be." She said.

"Seriously? You all just do as they say?" I asked.

"Pretty much.." She said and I scoffed.

"Who's the girl close to him?" I asked curiously.

"Just a friend, most people think she's his girlfriend but she isn't. She's just trying everything she can to make him date her but he doesn't budge." She said and I laughed shortly.

"What about the others?" I asked.

"That's Mitchell..." She said about the guy I saw with the jerk at the mall. "And that's Crystal, Mitchell's girlfriend." Regina said, referring to the girl with a short blonde hair.

"Hmm.. Interesting." I said staring at them.

"And.. Brian... I don't see him anywhere" She said looking around. "He's actually my favourite. I have a crush on him." She said and giggled. I smiled.

~~~NEXT DAY~~~

I wore a track suit, that was what we were to wear on Wednesdays. Mine was blue with white Sneakers.

I escorted Daisy to her class and head back to my class. I saw Violet and Crystal standing at a side of the mini bridge. They glanced at me and continued chatting. Crystal was on a pink tracksuit while Violet was wearing a purple tracksuit. I walked through the other side of the bridge. I was only Mid way when a brick fell off and my right leg sank into it making me fall and my leg stuck. I screamed so loud, it was so much pain.

Crystal and Violet came to me and they laughed as I wince in pains.

"Serves you right." Violet said and gave Crystal an high-five. They laughed and walked away. I tried to get up but my leg hurts because it was stuck. I felt my eyes already wet and ready to distribute to my cheeks.

"Please help me out." I cried in pains. I saw Jeremy and his friends as they watch me. They laughed, except Brian... and Jeremy, for some reasons angrily left. Brian stood helplessly. I looked away from them and wiped my tears, though it continued flowing.

"Kyla." Daisy called and ran to me. She tried lifting me up but she couldn't. I saw tears coming from her eyes.

"Daisy don't cry.." I looked at the students who were watching me and I turned to Daisy. "These people won't help me, Daisy, please call a teacher." I said and she ran immediately. The pain was getting worse, I couldn't move my leg. I cried in pain. The students stood there helplessly, some had pity on me but couldn't do anything because of Jeremy.

"Teachers soon came and tried to pull me out, I screamed more as I was eventually pulled out. I was carried to the school health clinic and treatment was given to me instantly. Daisy stood close to me, crying.

"That's enough Daisy, I'm fine now, ok?" I said wiping her tears.
