"Sir, your tea," I said, as I put the tray In front of him. He hummed and took the fee. He took a sip and angrily dropped it, spluttering all over and burning is this and. A hiss left out of his mouth.
"What are you thinking Les!" I know he's already venting his anger upon me. I believed I made myself clear enough to you. Two cubes Leslie! Just two cubes."
"I'm sorry sir." I apologized feeling disappointed. I couldn't look up at him. My eyes were on his skin which had already become red from the burn. I couldn't stand it. A part of me voiced out.
"I'll bring the burnt oil from the pantry. There's a first aid kit there on the shelves."
I said as I turned back and took a step forward to go out of the office. But a voice echoed from my back and made me halt and turn back, now facing him.
"I'd feel better if you put your mouth on it instead of the ointment." He said in his husky tone. What is he saying? I just looked at him with a stunned expression.
"Sir.... I"
"How do you feel calling me sir?" He simply asked looking into my eyes as I bit my lips, lost for words to talk to him.
How does he expect me to feel, he's my boss and whether I like it or not I must address his name with respect.
"I don't understand sir," I said, nodding my head.
"Stop, stop Leslie, stop calling me sir, before and after every sentence you. You can call me Xander or Blake."
Xander sounds cool, but how can I call him that, he's my boss.
"I'd go by Mr Blake sir." He just didn't say anything for a few minutes.
I felt he was hurt by the choice I've made, but no way! He brought out another batch of files and charged me with computing them into a database.
"But sir..." His menacing eyes made me remember, how he hated to be called sir by me." Sorry, Mr Blake, I'm barely through with the ones you've given me earlier."
"I know." He simply said in his deep voice.
Seriously. This will take a whole day and night, what does he think he's doing? He's probably annoyed that I didn't put my mouth on his hands after serving him a disastrous tea. I didn't blame him either. I must face the penalty for my nonchalant attitude, but he's flirty and strict.
I just went to his table and jacked the files onto my hands, they were quite heavier than the first one, so I held them with my two forearms folded to my chest. He just looked up and smirked, he didn't say anything and bent his head to his laptop. I saw a devilish smile form on his face. I see he's driving pleasure from overworking me. I reached the glass door and carefully pulled it with my legs so that I don't end up falling and creating a scene.
I dumped the files furiously in my cabin, ready to smash him if he ever showed his face to me, I sat on my seat and heaved a sigh. My two elbows on the cabin with my palms to my face. I sat like that for five minutes before booting my system.
Back to this jack of loads!
I crossed my fingers, assuring myself I can finish this in no time. But human emotions are such a betrayal. I reflected on whatever might have happened in his office today.
Wait, does he think I'm a slut? Who would fall for his damn personality? I nearly gave in to his seductive voices and gestures. He might be doing it because I told him I liked him tonight. It was hard fixing the puzzle, I later gave in and focused on my work, I was halfway through with the files when my phone buzzed.
Hey, who do we have here it was Mirabelle, she texted asking if I'm free tonight, I looked at files then back to my phone, and I looked again repeatedly. I didn't know what to type here, she hates it whenever I disappoint her, it's like a string to her heart. " I can't make it, I'm deeply sorry Mira, I have workloads that I don't think I can meet up with." I texted her and huffed.
The hours flew by slowly and at 8:35 pm everyone had already gone home. It was now only me and him. I'm completed with the files. I took them to his office and placed them on his table. My eyes were strained from facing the computer all day long.
" I checked the files and copied them into the computer," I said, waiting for his approval. He just stood there staring at my lips.
"Be here early tomorrow, don't be late, Leslie." He said and I looked up at him only to find him staring into my eyes. I quickly looked away feeling intimidated.
"Ok, Mr Blake," I said and quickly walked out without looking back. I fastly walked out of the building. The undefined tension between us is thick. I feel very stressed, Mirabelle is really mad at me, she didn't respond to me. I thought as I boarded a taxi back home.
"What are you doing here!" I asked. She curtly looked away. I thought she was long asleep by now. But here she is, I'm not close to escaping her nagging tonight.
