Chapter 5 Burst Out

[Trevan Scott Point of View]

After a month, I finally resigned from Dad's company. Trevan was finally passed his training at the company as its CEO, but still, he didn't leave his Life in the music industry; Dad and Mom just let him be because they could also see his progress to him.

Samantha and I have dated each other for almost a month.

I would say we're now close to each other.

And I was startled last week that she told me that she resigned as a model in Victoria's secret; I asked her what's her reason, but she just said it's none of my business, so I didn't bother to ask furthermore.

"What's with that deep thinking?"

I was surprised when Luke asked me, and I was with him because he was on his day off, and we decided to have a small catch-up.

We're currently here at the Golden Gate Bridge, just having a stop over because we both want to see the sunset.

"I can't imagine how fast the day is; imagine it's been a month since I've resigned, and it was also one month dating Samantha, and the most important is Dad was still alive."

I said while still looking at how beautiful the sunset was.

"You should be happy with it!"

He exclaimed.

"I am but except about the set-up between Samantha and me."

I chuckled.

"I thought you've learned how to love her?"

I almost laughed at what he said.

"It won't happen knowing I have a stoned heart. No one can make me fall in love, especially that spoiled Bratt Samantha."

I answered, and he shook his head.

"You know what, Trevan, you'll remember this day saying that thing. Because I am sure, you will fall in love with her sooner."

He said, and I just got inside the car and started the engine. I don't have to hear that words because loving a woman is one of my biggest fears.

After he gets inside the car, I turn on the radio to make Luke stop talking about love, but fucking shit, he turns it off and starts to shout inside my car while looking at his phone.

"Luke, can you please stop shouting? I am driving, and you make me feel uneasy."

I said, and he just gave me a peace sign.

"I apologize for shouting, but I am just happy for this email HAHAHAHA."

Luke said while showing me the screen of his phone.

"Can you tell it to me instead of showing it? I can't read it because I am driving."

I've told him.

"Your mom sent me an electronic invitation card for your engagement party HAHAHAHA, and it's later in the evening. Trevan, I'm your best friend. Why you didn't tell me this?"

He said and pouted his mouth as if it suited him.

I almost hit the car in front of us for what I've heard.

"Engagement party?"

I yelled.

"Yes, why? Are you not aware of it?"

Luke asked me.

I almost Overspeed because of what I've heard from Luke, and he was calming me, but I ignored him.

"Hey Trevan, please watch out, and can you drive slowly?"

He begged for me, but I didn't obey him.

It just took me a few minutes to drive home, and as I parked my car in front of our house, I almost ran as fast as I could to talk to my Mom and Dad. I didn't bother that I am with Luke; the most important thing right now was this engagement party thingy.

"Hey, lover boy, why do you seem so mad?"

I ignored what he said. Instead, I ask him.

"Where's mom and dad?"

I am making myself calm down, but I can't.

"Ask your ass."

Trevon answered me that makes me mad.

"JUST FUCKING TELL ME WHERE'S MOM AND DAD!"

I shouted at him while holding his collar.

"They are in Dad's Library."

He answered, and I walked fast inside the library, and there they were, laughing together.

"MOM, WHAT'S THAT INVITATION ABOUT?"

I can't even say hello or what, but it is important to ask them about it.

"Trevan, why are you shouting at your mom?"

Dad asked me, and he stood up.

"I know that you want me to marry Samantha Greyson; I've accepted that thing, and that engagement party you've said will be on the other month, but why on Earth? Luke just received your email, and it will be later in the evening?"

I've said, and Mom asked me to sit first, but I didn't.

"We've talked about this last week, right?"

Dad said.

"No, we never talked it about. Both of us are busy about the progression of Trevon at the company, and I am busy dating Samantha to get to know each other."

I've explained.

"I'm sorry if I haven't informed you; we just decided to make it happen as soon as possible because your dad's life is unpredictable."

Mom answered, I am aware of it, but they didn't get my point that I am not yet ready for their unpredictable decision-making.

"the Doctor said that can live until three years from now and that fucking engagement party was too early! You didn't even ask me if I am ready for it later!"

I am now shouting at them, and I almost forgot how to respect them.

*PAAAAAAAAAAAK*

Mom slapped my left and right of my cheeks, and I was startled by it.

It was the first time her hand laid on my face.

"You didn't even respect us, Trevan. We raised you well, but what are you doing right now? Shouting at us while you were mad? How dare you!"

Dad was now mad at me and asking about respect.

My respect is based on how people will also respect me!

I guess it's time to let them hear me out.

"Wow, coming from you, Dad, about respect?

All of my Life, I am respecting the two of you. I don't even respect myself because of you!

Since then, I've been following your decisions, especially you, Dad, but have you ever thought about how it feels to be just a follower of yours even if it was against my choices.

I am also a human; I have my own decisions and feelings but look what you do. Both of you treated me just like a puppet, but have you heard me go against your choices? No, because I was freaking making you proud of me. I've also agreed to fix my marriage with Samantha Greyson, but I was expecting you will be asked for my approval at that fucking engagement party, but you didn't. If Luke didn't tell me about that, I'm sure you'll find me dumbfounded!"

I yelled at them while tears were falling down my cheeks.

I found myself smiling even though I am crying for expressing to them what I felt about it, and it was a relief.

"We were sorry son, and we didn't know that you were hurting."

Dad sincerely said.

"I will just cancel the engagement party later if that's what you want."

Mom uttered, and I looked at her.

"No need. You've already sent those invitations. I hope this will be a lesson for both of you."

I said, and I didn't even show that I respected them.

"The engagement party will be precisely at 8:00 pm and make sure you'll wear your best suit. The venue was in Greyson's mansion."

Mom reminded me, and I nodded.

They hugged me before I left them inside the library.

I also apologized for shouting and ranting at them, and they just said it was all right, and they also asked for an apology for all the decisions they made up with me.

As I checked my watch, it was already 6:30 pm, and I was looking at Luke, but I saw Trevon in the front yard, and he gave me my car key.

"I already sent Luke to their home using your car, and he didn't say any goodbye to you since you will also see him later at your engagement party."

Trevon said.

I let out a heavy sigh, and I took a piece of cigarette from him; and he was surprised at what I've acted.

"Hey, give me that cigarette. You're not used to it."

Trevon uttered, and I smirked at him.

"I used to smoke since my high school days; you're not aware of it because you were busy with your own life, like breaking some rules of our parents."

I said, and I am stating the fact.

"I was about to give your car key inside of Dad's library, but I've heard the three of you look like fighting."

He said.

"Don't mind that; it was my childish reason."

I answered because Trevon won't stop asking if I would tell the truth.

"I'm not dumb. I've heard all of it, and I've realized that you've been hard on yourself because of Mom and Dad. Since you were a kid, I was startled that you've been following and obeying them. Why not break their rules just what I did? They won't be affected by it, and since you can earn money with your skills, don't be afraid of it, Trevan."

He seriously said while looking at me.

I smirk at him and tap his shoulders.

"I obeyed them because I don't want you to put me in my situation. Do you remember back when we were in college days?

They badly want you to be put in a rehabilitation center since you are addicted to alcohol and drugs, but what did I do?

I begged them not to do it because I am sure you will be mad at them if they continue that. They agreed on me but on one condition."

I said this was the first time I saw him so serious about our conversations.

"What's their condition to you?"

He asked.

"A condition that I will always obey and follow what they want. The first thing was to be a Suma Cumlaude in College, which is I did, and the second one is to manage our company and many more."

I proudly said to him, and he was teary-eyed.

"All of them, you surpass it, and I am sorry."

He said, and I could feel his sincerity.

"Yes, for the sake of your freedom."

I was smiling, looking at my brother.

"Instead of your freedom.

I am really sorry for everything that I've done for you.

I always think that you were their favorite since you are always with him except for me. But now I've realized all your sacrifices just for me. I promise that I won't ever give you a problem instead I'll give all that I have in our company. I won't waste it, and someday you will be proud of me."

He sincerely apologized to me.

"I have already been proud of you since then. You just need to make yourself proud of what you've been through. Because I know you also have silent battles but don't hesitate to talk with me if you can't handle it, and twenty-four-seven, I am free to help you."

I said, and I was about to leave him, but suddenly he gave me a brotherly hug.

After that, he said I needed to fix myself for the engagement party, and he will also fix himself.

Now we're on good terms; I can finally say that my family was now perfect even though there were a few circumstances.

Life may give us chaos, but still, like what others said, there is still a rainbow after the rain. I'm beyond happy to see my family satisfied with what they've decided about my Life, even if it is against with my choice. I know my Life became miserable in this fixed marriage that they've planned, but I am rooting for it that I would see the good side since Samantha is easy to handle even though sometimes she was a hard-headed one.

Starting from this night, I'll be a tough one!
