Chapter 9 THE SPEECH II

There were murmurs from the people in the crowd. Most of them didn't know the answer to that question.

An arm shot up from one of the people in the crowd, Jude's eyes turned to the person immediately. "I see a youngster wants to help us," he smiles. "Can you be a good lad, and get to your feet?"

Andrew got up from the crowd, he had a sly smile on his face.

"It's the reputable reporter of Senator Klaus," Jude's face was beaming with wilder smiles. "If I didn't know any better, I would think you didn't come for the purpose of the event but rather to get some dirt against me that you can use to boost the morale of your candidate."

"Well, you do know better, and we both know I could care less about some dusty old library that's probably gonna get broken down in at most, five years from now for renovations. Also, most of my folks ain't gonna be visiting it, there are easier ways to read nowadays ever since the invention of the steam engine, you'd know that if you were a little current and not some old self-righteous dirty politician."

If Jude was insulted by what he said, he did an expert job of hiding it as it didn't reflect on his face. He burst into a fit of mild laughter.

"So do you know the answer to the question you raised your hand, or you would like to take a seat?" Jude asks. "Not everyone's got the privilege of sitting down," Jude's eyes turned at the bodyguards who were around. "Some of us have to stand so we can serve those we sit. So if you decide to stand, you must be ready for responsibilities. He who can't handle responsibilities satisfactorily will be cut off, that's how the world has worked and will work."

Andrew could feel sweat breaking off his forehead, Jude had indirectly threatened him. The crowd might not have observed that but he did. His hunch was right, Jude wasn't a Jesus Christ, he was as evil and dirty as he thought it would be.

"Getting the dirt on this guy might not be so hard after all," Andrew thinks to himself. "A man's words say a lot about him. I am sure in three days tops, I will get all the incriminating evidence I need against him, I just have to steer clear." Andrew cleared his throat. "We are aware today is Wednesday because we remember what happened the previous day. Memories are what help to keep tabs on what physical indicators can't. We know who we are because we remember what we were, and what we did."

"A very clever answer," Jude grinned evilly. "Can he be given a round of applause?!"
