Chapter 4 She is my girlfriend.

Faced with an unexpected situation that arose, experiencing the first difficulty on the way of love with an ordinary girl like Katy, how will Alan handle it? To be honest, when he decided to ask her out, he soon envisioned all that he might encounter, especially the irony and disparagement of public opinion. But he is determined to overcome all challenges, as long as Katy always believes and relies on him, especially always standing by his side to create motivation and strength, Alan promises not to let prejudices and one-sided judgments come from him.

other people influence and obstruct your path to happiness. A question that sounds very simple at first, but it is difficult to get a genuine answer from those who are afraid of scandal, fear of losing image, and fear of being ridiculed. With Alan, it's different, he doesn't appreciate the three things people say. However, he could not let others despise and mock his girlfriend. That's why you can't say no.

"What does that have to do with you guys?" He coldly questioned.

"Well she looks pretty out of date, we just thought you'd want to date a prettier girl."

Katy stiffened trying not to cry in front of everyone. Indeed, this is such an outrageous insult, how can people be so rude? After all, we are girls, why so rude to each other, is that for their benefit? Katy honestly said that she was so familiar with people's attitudes toward her, she was just afraid to ruin Alan's image when she was with her.

Speaking of Alan, what are you thinking?

Alan scowled indignantly at what he had just heard, putting his arm around Katy's shoulder, and pulling her closer to him.

"Well you must know she is my girlfriend and I don't like you talking to her like that. In my eyes, she looks better than all of you."

He exclaimed with an expression devoid of any emotion, while Katy blushed uncontrollably. His sudden, unannounced action turned her to stone, her eyes widening in surprise as she stared at him. The distance was too close, it was unsafe, and the sudden increase in body temperature made her body extremely hot even though the air conditioner was on in the store.

Those people heard him and left, both ashamed and jealous of Katy for being protected by him with pride.

Then Alan walked out of the ice cream parlor, pulled her with him, and didn't bother to ask how she was, maybe Alan didn't notice his girlfriend's unusual condition. That's right, he's been busy shooting warning glances at the scornful eyes, mocking smirk, especially the low-pitched whispers aimed at his girl.

A bit away from the ice cream shop, he turned to give her ice cream.

"Take it before the ice cream melts."

She was worried, was called, and quickly took it from his hand. "Thanks for the ice cream."

"Nothing." He said as he handed her vanilla ice cream, while I slowly devoured the aroma of the coffee.

While Alan looked forward, thinking about where to take her out, Katy was busy with her world, forgetting that the ice cream close to her face was melting more and more. She blushed and looked down at the ground thinking about what Alan had just done. It was so impressive to her, Alan looked like a chivalrous hero helping the weak. Katy vaguely wondered, did it come from interest, or did he simply want to present himself in front of others? Katy had some doubts, she knew she should trust him, but that bad thought wasn't necessarily a bad thing, at least it reminded her not to arbitrarily believe, let alone to be manipulated. The two were new to each other, didn't know much about each other, especially about her, there was no way she knew for sure about Alan at all. She is like stepping into a new world, strange and full of unknowns.

"You know... You don't have to..." Katy decided to clarify the concerns in her heart because her nature did not like ambiguity, the more she avoided the entanglement and confusion. Biting her lower lip lightly, she hesitated to speak.

"I want to." He interrupted before she could finish what she was about to say because he understood that he had something to do with what she was about to say. "No one is allowed to provoke you, even when we are not together. I will protect you, protect my girlfriend."

Surprise? Alan doesn't look fake at all. Whether words are tongue-in-cheek, attitude is acting, or fake facial expressions can deceive the opponent, only the eyes, and the window of the soul are always true. Unable to see the obvious, she could only feel and her heart wanted her to believe, and her mind agreed. When she looked up, before she could express her joy, he snorted, trying to hold back a chuckle. Katy was looking at him bewildered with cream smeared on top of her lips.

"What's going on?" She asked when she noticed Alan's odd gaze. It looked like he wanted to laugh but tried his best not to laugh.

"When you grow up, you can eat ice cream and stick it to your face." He smirked at her, startled and embarrassed Katy frantically wiped her hands away. The behavior looks cute as she tries to remove the cream stain but doesn't know the exact location.

Suddenly he leaned over and raised his index finger, gently wiping over her upper lip. Katy stiffened, standing still looking down at her hand, the vanilla ice cream still flowing down the street. So confused and surprised at the same time, she didn't know how to react. Then he did something she didn't expect him to do. Alan put the finger he had just wiped the cream into his mouth and licked the vanilla from his finger. Suddenly something flooded over her head that made her blush. Perverted thinking? God, does Alan know that outbursts can be misleading? Or was he doing it on purpose to tease her? To tell the truth, seeing her blush like a tomato, he was delighted. She looks so cute, looks like she wants to bite.

Time seemed to stand still, ash gray eyes stared at black eyes, both seemed to be in a trance. Suddenly he coughed and looked away slightly blushing.

"So anything specific you want to do on this first date?

Curious, he turned his back to Katy because he did not dare to look directly at her super cute face.

"Whatever, no problem." She said she didn't even think about it.

"This is the first date, do something memorable, don't just pick a date. Aren't you interested in hanging out with me?"

Katy immediately shook her head in denial. "No, it's just that I don't know, this is the first time..."

She timidly confessed, lowering her face to hide her embarrassment.

"I'm also never really around girls so..." He explained to her as he started walking, still eating his ice cream.

Katy looked down at the ground as she walked beside him. "So you've never had a girlfriend before?" She asked curiously.

"No, I've never wanted to date before. Girls are always annoying, they harass me."

"Uh... I see." She spoke in a low voice, and Alan noticed the tone of her voice confused him. Looking ahead, he parted his lips to speak.

"Not with you, you're different... I like you, that's why I want you to be my girlfriend." Alan blushed and explained.

As soon as his words were out of his mouth, Katy stopped, and he stopped too. Looking back, he noticed the sad expression that typified her expression.

"What's wrong?" He was bothered by her negative thoughts.

"Why... You chose me as your girlfriend?"

"Because I like it. Don't worry too much about the looks of the people around, we just have to have fun, right?"

Alan encouraged, receiving her reluctant nod. Then he turned away, so as not to see her slightly uneasy expression.
