Chapter 2 The heart Thumping Interview

She started working at an early age to be able to complete her education and also assist her only sister who was currently in high school, she does menial jobs like delivery person, washing dishes in restaurants, scrubbing floors, until she became a full time waitress.

Gilbert group of companies called her for an interview, but she was already late.

On getting to the gigantic building, Ivana mouth hung opened, it was beyond what she saw online, this could be described as an empire, a sudden eerie feeling rushed through her, this isn't a place where anyone can be accepted.

Ivana clutched her bag, straighten her hair and her dress, took a deep breath and walked in towards the beautiful receptionist.

"Hi, iam Ivana Davies, Iam here for the interview regarding the position of a private secretary".

" You are welcome miss Ivana....." the receptionist said with a soothing voice that immediately calm her tensed nerves, ".... please go to the 7th floor, other applicants like you are currently there, someone will call you one after the other, and interview you." She said showing her the way.

" Thank you!" Ivana replied, returning the smile her heart thump loudly, on getting out of the elevator, she sees those who went in coming out with long faces, she hoped they will like her and give her the job, because she badly needed it.

She was getting nervous when the person before her was called in, she knew she was prepared for the interview but what if she flop?

What if she is not who they wanted?

What if she could not answer the questions thrown at her?

Beads of sweat formed on her forehead, with shaky hands and legs, Ivana closed her eyes, trying to calm herself.

"Ivana Davies?" A beautiful middle-aged woman called looking around, but gave a beautiful smile when she saw Faye walking towards her.

"Yes, iam Ivana" she replied, trying not to let her unstable emotion get the best of her.

"Please come in for your interview"

She walked in slowly into the room, Ivana swallowed hard when a set of dark eyes landed on her.

Davin was not in a good mood, first he missed an important meeting, his mother had called him to attend his father's burial and his car broke down when he was coming to work, on getting to work, his secretary couldn't make his coffee to his taste.

Everything and everyone was getting on his nerves, he likes everything to be perfect, Davin Hayes being told what to do, he had ignored Tyler's calls several times, now wanting to have a word with his brother.

There are some days when the thought of having a family comes to his mind, he has a big mansion in the states, several others across the continent that can house his children and children's children, and a fortune that can feed them until they are aged.

He shook his head, letting out a deep groan, family can wait, he wasn't sure he was emotionally and mentally ready to have a family.

He growled at his visibly shaking secretary to make his coffee to his taste, while giving his full attention to the file laid on the table before him. His phone rang again for the hundredth time, fumbling his pocket, Davin rolled his eyes when he saw who the caller was.

Declining the call, Davin hastily type into his phone, slamming it on the table, giving his attention to the computer in front of him.

Ivana came out of the gigantic building, her face mixed with different emotions, she slowly turned to look at the company once again, her eyes slowly scanned from the top to the button of it's building, everything was perfect, nearly perfect as the man who interviewed her.

Those eyes still haunt her as she walked out of his office, out of the elevator, and out of the company, eyes dark and mysterious, filled with Lust? She had thought about losing the job when she met lots of ladies whom she assumed are more qualified than her, when she sat before the CEO, she was surprised to see he never asked her any questions, he only checked her file, impressed at what he saw, and told her she had gotten the job.
