Chapter 4 An Enormous Profit

After hearing Frederic bid, everyone looked at him strangely. They were obviously surprised.

"Is this kid out of his mind?"

"Well, he is obviously a rookie. He must be dreaming of finding treasures from the rubbish heap."

"Ross, you are so lucky. Someone is willing to pay for the cleaning up of the warehouse for you."

The host named Ross Morrison was stunned for a moment. But when he finally realized what had happened, he quickly banged down the hammer.

Instead of asking if anyone wanted to bid more according to the rules, he directly announced the result.

"Congratulations, Frederic! This warehouse is now yours."

He spoke very fast. It was as if he was afraid that Frederic would change his mind.

After saying this, Ross breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at Frederic slyly.

"Good luck, young man. I hope you can find something good in the warehouse.

But don't forget that it has to be cleaned up within twenty-four hours. Otherwise, you will be fined."

Frederic smiled. He couldn't help breathing a sigh of relief too.

But for others, it was still a bad bargain even if the warehouse only cost one dollar.

After all, it would cost a lot of time, energy, and money to clean it up.

Only Frederic knew that he would make an enormous profit.

When he looked around, he met the mocking eyes of other treasure hunters.

So he was looking forward to seeing their faces when they knew the truth.

Since the last warehouse was sold, it could still be considered that the auction ended successfully.

Ross finally felt relaxed.

The other treasure hunters who had seen enough fun and excitement also left while talking and laughing.

A lot of things had happened today that they could talk about, especially the last warehouse.

A rookie had paid one dollar to get the chance to clean up the warehouse. That could be a very good topic over a drink tonight.

So everyone left except Ross and Frederic.

"Rookie, do you need any help in contacting the team of cleaners?" Ross asked.

He was sure that Frederic couldn't find anything good in the warehouse.

Frederic refused. "No need. I will look through all the things inside first and see if there is something valuable."

"Well, it's all up to you. But I doubt there is anything good in this run-down warehouse."

Since Frederic refused his offer to help, Ross could only shake his head and leave.

Actually, he was a little grateful to Frederic because Frederic's final bid made the auction come to an end successfully.

After everyone left, Frederic quickly pulled down the roll-up door and groveled into the warehouse from the bottom.

He swept all the cards on the floor into a pile and looked for the one with a black lotus pattern on one side.

"The first version of black lotus card that is graded PSA10 is worth thirty thousand dollars."

"Really?"

Frederic shouted excitedly. Then he hurriedly looked for another black lotus card from the pile of cards.

After he found two black lotus cards, his hands slightly shook in excitement as he placed them together.

He now had sixty thousand dollars.

"But I still need twenty thousand dollars more for my aunt's operation,"

Frederic murmured to himself. But he was not worried at all. Instead, his lips curved into a wide smile.

He looked at the pile of cards on the floor again.

Then he picked them up and put them on the table. After a while, two sets of cards were arranged in order and neatly placed on the table.

"A set of the first version of Magic Cards is still collectible, even without the black lotus. Its value is ten thousand dollars."

"One set of these cards is ten thousand dollars. Since I have two sets, I can sell them for twenty thousand dollars. And the two black lotus cards are worth sixty thousand dollars. I have eighty thousand dollars in total now.

It's enough for my aunt's operation," Frederic exclaimed excitedly.

"But it's not over yet."

He turned back to the rest of the cards.

"With these other cards, I can afford to buy supplements and nutritious food for my aunt to help her recover fast after the operation."

The owner of this warehouse was obviously a board games enthusiast. And these Magic Cards were only a small part of his collection. There were many more relatively obscure cards.

With the help of the system, Frederic finally sorted out all the cards. More than a dozen of them were worth fifty to three thousand dollars. Their total value was more than twenty thousand dollars.

He planned to put them up together for an auction.

Frederic put all the valuable cards in his pocket to take them home. When he was about to walk out of the warehouse, he suddenly saw Ross walking towards him.

It turned out that Ross had returned because he had been wondering why Frederic bought the warehouse.

In the previous conflict between Frederic and Kevin, Ross could tell that Frederic was a level-headed young man. It was unlikely for him to make a rash decision.

Did it mean that Frederic found something valuable in this warehouse?

The more Ross thought about it, the more his curiosity was piqued. He was very eager to know the answer.

And now that he saw Frederic's happy face, he got more convinced that Frederic must have found something good.

So Ross put on a smile, approached Frederic, and asked, "Frederic, did you find any surprise in the warehouse?"

At first, Frederic didn't want to tell Ross about it. But after thinking for a while, he changed his mind.

There was no need to keep it a secret because he had to sell these cards as soon as possible.

He couldn't possibly hide it from others.

Besides, Ross was the host of the auction, and he was well-informed. It was necessary to build a good relationship with him.

And Frederic didn't worry that Ross would play dirty.

After all, these cards were worth only one hundred thousand dollars. He wouldn't trade his reputation for them.

He was worth much more than that.

Ross would be crazy if he did such a thing.

Frederic thought about it for a while, then finally decided to tell Ross some things selectively.

"I found a few precious cards with collectible value."

"Collectible value?"

Ross was stunned for a moment. He didn't know much about game cards, but he still smiled and said, "Congratulations then! So what's your plan? Do you want to keep them or sell them? If you want to sell them, you may need some help."

Frederic was stunned upon hearing this. And his originally happy face suddenly darkened.

Ross was right.

Having the cards in his hands was not enough. He still needed to find a buyer.

And he didn't know any rich people who liked collecting these cards.

These cards were nothing but a pile of waste paper in his hands unless they would be converted into dollars.

The joy of the thought that he could easily earn one hundred thousand dollars was suddenly washed away by this reality.

When Ross saw that the expression on Frederic's face changed, he immediately knew the reason. He couldn't help laughing and saying, "Come, follow me. I'll take you to Jack. He knows a lot of people, so maybe he knows someone who can help you."
