Chapter 6 Episode 6

"How is that possible? You and I both know all those are trashes and unbelievable! Why now would you want to join the entire race of disillusioned people to believe such balderdash? Sandy! Stop if you are joking" I was fast getting pissed.

"I am serious, Kim. That is why I've been chugging down this milkshake. You know on a normal I wouldn't take more than one cup of this. But, as crazy as I would sound," she leaned in again to my still shocked self "he bit me." my eyes widened. "he said it was a form of claiming me and all that shit I couldn't make out because whenever I'm with him everything becomes blurry and doesn't make sense." she searched my eyes willing me to believe her but, I was still in shock.

"Believe me, Kim. You know I will never lie to you. Okay look at this" she pushed her round-necked swead down to show me bites scattered all around her neck. I tipped back in fright.

The fuck was that? I know lovers leave Hickey's but that was some deep ass Hickey's. They looked more like a tooth engraved in an unpeeled orange. "Cassandra, you have to leave him. That guy is not good for you. He's a lunatic. He is feeding you with those bullshits to take advantage of you" I careened out hurriedly, fright still written all over my face.

To my surprise and amazement, Cassandra was laughing "Calm down girl. It's nothing serious and...he is not a lunatic. Yesterday he took me to a forest close by and showed me his true self. I was scared at first, but I was consoled with the fact that he had told me earlier that he would never hurt me no matter what. His eyes turned a shade of crimson greens before he turned into this wild___"

"Stop, stop Sandy. You are being disillusioned. I know you are trying to pull a prank on me trust me, it worked. So now can we please change the topic to something else? please" I begged with my hands joined together pleading at her.

"I can't Kim because we would be meeting him at the club and I really want you prepared. I didn't want to open up to you over the phone knowing how we both felt towards them initially, and I definitely wouldn't want to divulge it to you at the club which was why I drove down to tell you. Please Kim"

"This is so much to take in Sandy. All my life, you know I hate anything that has to do with those kinds of fairy tales. I saw it as human's way of eluding themselves against their realities"

"I know Kim. Don't forget we were in this together. Another thing he said he's a Beta in his pack"

"Beta? Pack? What are those?" I picked up the fresh cup of chocolate milkshake and gulped it all down. No wonder Cassandra ordered this. With this kind of information, you would probably finish an entire barrel of milkshake.

"Well, according to him, he said the Beta is the second in command to the Alpha, who is the head of the pack. While a pack is like a group of werewolves under an authority. You know like we have our head of districts?" she narrated splaying her hands about.

I nodded still in doubt. "So now what does that make you? A betaress?" she busted out laughing.

"No, no silly. I don't know though. I haven't really asked him. Though he said the Alpha's wife is a Luna." she went on to tell me several things which were as interesting as they were humorous to me. There is no way on mother earth I was ever going to believe all that gibberish, but for the love of my friendship, I pretended to agree, just so I can get her to tell me everything.

I made up my mind there and then that I was going to the party, club whatever she calls it. I am going to make sure I have the head of that bastard who had managed to swindle my friend of her rationality leaving her a lunatic. After all these years of praying and hoping that one day my friend would find love and be happy for real, now this.

Not under my watch. I would have him denounce whatever charm he used on her. If there was anything as spiritual, I think he had my friend under a spell and now she was spewing rubbish.

"Kim!" she shrieked and I looked up at her.

"Yea. I'm with you. You know what Sandy, I am with you on this" I grazed her with a convincing smile.

"Really? Oh, you don't know what this means to me. I was beginning to think I was crazy too. I just needed this, cupcake" she flew out of her chair, to give me a side hug.

I stiffened and patted her arms cordially "it's alright. So which day is the party?"

"You mean the club?" her eyes widened at my curiosity "You..you are going to come without my coercion?" she sputtered in surprise.

"Yea. I mean you are absolutely right. I've been so inside all my life that I may be missing out on what is going on out there. Who knows, I might even meet a handsome werewolf and get bitten myself" I quipped humorously.

"Yes!" she pilled and started dropping baby kisses all over my face.

"It's okay, Sandy! really?. You know I hate baby kisses. Gross!" I shook her off. She twirled about before sashaying back to her seat. This is crazy and if I listen more to this gibberish, I think I might just go insane.

I gulped down the second cup of milkshake catching the attention of Cassandra whose head was bobbed over her phone typing away furiously while her face was hinting at a smile. "Loverboy huh?" she nodded but had her face furrowed at me.

"Are you okay, Kim?"

"Yes, I am. My best friend just told me she's in love with a werewolf and now, I'm here as happy as I have ever felt in my motherfucking life" I gushed in a hushed tone, sarcastically. She rolled her eyes and went back to her phone that beeped at once.

"I know all these are too much for you Kim, but trust me you would be just fine. He said very soon we would be visiting his pack when he concludes the business that brought him to Illinois"

"And what business is that?"

"He didn't say. Just said it's pack business" she shrugged. My mind flew to the attack but I instantly pushed it off. There is no way I was going to allow my self fall victim to these sapped up illusions.

No way.

"So when the time comes, are you really going to follow him to his what do you call it again? Peak? Pact?__"

"Pack, Kim! Heads down" she flashed me a glare "And about that, there is no way in hell I would follow him to his pack alone. Not that I don't trust him, but still, you know, to be on a safe side"

"Cool. Glad to know your head is still down. So who do plan to go with you? I know your Dad would never agree to go on such foolish trip, not to mention your ever busy mum oh, I forgot, your brother George?" I raised my brow, after going through the catalogue of her family members which I knew would never agree to go on such a vain trip with her.

"You are mocking me and that's not fair" she whined.

"Noooo, sandy, pfft, you know I would never do that. I am only asking because you and I know that none of your family members would be so kind as to offer you as an offering to a, ...whatever you call them"

"I will forgive you because I love you, Kim. But just so you know, we are making the trip together" she deadpanned. I do that to her sometimes, in fact, most times.
