Chapter 3 Episode 3

" Tighten your seat belts," mum said for the hundredth time like she was talking to some bunch of kids. I could tell that William would keep rolling his bulgy sapphire eyes as he does each time our parents gave us baby orders.

"Williams" she drawled her eyes pinned to the rear mirror to catch the miscreant not following her orders "And don't you dare roll your eyes at me, young man"

" Mum am I going to come back complete today?" He queried resulting in my whirling around to look at his sucking face.

"Big baby" I teased him. He glared at me

"Mum" he whined

"Kimberly" mum called and I looked forward with a pout. Mum always took his side since he was her favourite while I was dad. I folded my hands around my chest and bit down on my lower lip. I hated this trip with everything in me and I hope it wouldn't happen. I just hope I could stop it

Just as mum is about to pull out of our garage, her phone started ringing in the safe. She stopped and checked the caller my eyes following hers

It was our aunt from Louisiana the one we were on our way to visit. Mum picked up

"What!" she squealed her eyes sorting mine

My eyes were on hers in askance. Her face was looking weary like something was wrong. I sat up straight on the sit waiting for her to finish and tell us what the problem was

She soon finished and cut the call with her face scrunched. She exhaled, her hands still on the stirring but not making any move to drive out

"Mum, what is the problem?" I finally asked, my patience waning out

"Your aunt said there was an attack somewhere around the beach. So the road has been blocked off" she bit into her lower lip and bunched into her seat

"Attack? How? What kind of attack?" I wondered out loud. My mom shook her head but didn't say anything for awhile

"She didn't say. She was still in shock but I will call her later to confirm. Sorry guys it seems we will have to reschedule" she ached. I didn't like the tone of her voice and the look on her face but I held my peace and quietly exit the car

"I knew one day the werewolf and vampires will come onboard" William jecked

" William!" I cried out and banged the car door unconsciously before running off when I saw the hard glare on mums face.

I am surely going to have Williams's head

Running into my room, not having what else to do I sat in front of my makeshift table in my room and opened the latest novel I was reading and started going through it. The buzz of my phone got my attention and my face widened with a smile when I saw who was calling

"I miss you so extensively you don't know how much" I bickered once I picked

"I know. What would your life be like without a hot ass like me?. Well, guess what?" rambled Cassy excitedly

"What?" I asked hopefully wishing it's what am thinking.

"Am on my way to town! In fact, I just drove into Chicago right now. Can we meet at Frisbee?"

"Yes! Yes!" I danced about on my seat "I'm on my way" I jumped off the seat and ran to my wardrobe to change into something more presentable.

Cassandra was a hot ass just as she quipped. Her dad was the C.E.O of Lenox one of the top leading competitors in automobiles in the United States. So she had lots of cash to throw around. Most of my hot clothes, she got them for me. According to her, she wouldn't allow me to go out with her looking like a bereaved aged woman.

I patted some compact powder into my face to complement it with a nude lip gloss. I had natural white skin and plump lips so I usually went on something light to pop my already butteric skin.

Finishing with my face, I picked up my hairband and packed my red hair in a bun. I often wonder who I took my hair from since none of my parents had red hair. My mum is a blondie and my dad had chestnut brown hair. Each time William wanted to taunt me he would stipulate that I was adopted, that was why I looked different since he managed to acquire mums straight blonde much to my chagrin

I checked up my face one last time and smiled at what I saw. The tiny freckles around my nose have managed to be covered by the powder. I sprayed in some cologne in the right parts before going back to look at my navy blue peplum_hand gown. It hugged my frame like a second skin showing off my figure-eight body that mum keeps warning I show off so as to attract a husband. I guess she would be gooey when she sees me now

I turned and left the room with my bag bouncing at my side.

" where are you off to?" Mum asked once I reached the living room. I blushed as I saw the way a smile crept up her face after her assessment

"How do I look?" I asked instead to avoid her question

She blew me a kiss "you look ravishing. Hope you are off to see a man?" She asked me in earnest. My eyes widened and sort out my dad who was on his favourite chair facing the television. He is a contractor and was always off to different states most of the time. But whenever he was around, he often spent time with us

"Mum I have to go" I made it to the door in fast strides

" Be careful hun" Dad called after me.

I stopped on the terrace and watched at William still struggling to fix his car. He jumped into the seat and tried igniting the engine once more. I just wish it would turn on so he can drop me off. I hated driving

"Wo!" he squealed and ran out twirling as the car came alive. I blinked severally and trudged down to meet him, in the process getting wrapped around his sweaty body in excitement.

"Let go..you..you boar! You stink!" I hit his hard chest. My brother was one hell of a hot dude accounts for why all the girls kept running after him. He took after my father's build making him that cute.

Our parents had good genes and it rubbed off on us

"Can..you drop me off? Please" I pleaded with my poppy eye that he always fell for

"Well, let's just say you are on time coz I was about to drive off to Phillips we have a hot party at his place tonight. Tell mum and die" he threatens. The state I am in right now I really don't care if he flys to the moon as far as he returns so I nodded with a smile

"Cool. A minute let me wear something different" he bellows before running off up the porch into the house.

I must say this. I don't why but I have noticed that most of the time, any time I wished for something to happen, voom! It happens. It has been happening for a long time. I didn't notice until Cassandra had brought my attention to it

When I was in high school, I used to have this set of bullies. Nancy and Cecelia were the main chicks of the school and were really popular which made them bitchy. They often taunted me because Nancy's boyfriend started chasing me so she became jealous and joined forces with her clique to make my school life miserable. Most of the time they left me crying by the school stairs all alone until Cassandra couldn't take it anymore and had stood up for me.

So each time they saw me with Cassandra, they would avoid me. But once am alone, they would swoop in on me. So one day, I was walking with Cassandra when she had been dragged to a corner by her boyfriend for a quick make-out. I stood close to a locker with my feet rapping on the floor in impatience when I saw the trio walking towards me with an evil smirk on having caught their prey without a protector

I was shaking and wishing Cassandra would hurry up with her boyfriend and help me and just like that she materialised before me which caused the bitches to stiffen to a point in fear. I laughed out loud at their stupid and had said I wished their faces would remain like that forever.

The kids didn't come to school ever again and when we questioned what happened to them, rumour had carried it that they had a face distortion and had been hospitalized. I didn't take it to heart but instead, I was happy that at least I was finally free in school.

But Cassy told me that she had noticed that each time I wished something, it happened so I should try not to wish ill on people. It scared me at first but one day I tried it on this guy that has been disturbing me but it didn't work out so I shrug away the thought thinking what happened to the bumblebees was actually a coincidence.

I think it's mostly an unconscious reaction.

As we drove down the road to Cassy, my chest was pummeling in my chest in anticipation.

Just as we pulled up in front of the park, my brother looked at me

"Can I come to greet your __"

"No, and thanks" I jumped out of the car running into the cafe. My brother has been trying to get the attention of Cassy for a long time which I have been warding off. I can't have him playing his childish games with my bestie

"Yea!" I screamed on sighting her coily tinted pink hair and ran to crash myself against Cassy's waiting arms garnering the attention of everyone present

But, one person in the crowd caught my attention.
