Chapter 4 Saved.

Ronin's POV.

Something in me kept on pondering about why I told Ava she could wander about in the castle. Was it a mistake? I had my ears peeled awaiting any form of scream. With reluctance, I walked into my father's office, late as usual.

"You're late, as usual." He uttered in an annoyed tone.

"What do we have to do today?" I said ignoring the statement he made. My father and I used to be the best of friends when I was growing up. He taught me how to be ruthless, fearless and above all, callous. He made me the vampire I am today.

Everything changed when the countess, my mother, died a century ago. I was two hundred and forty years old then, and he was seven hundred and ninety years old.

She died in the war between the vampires and the werewolves, who had awoken their beast , the beast of Gévaudan, from the dead, with a special being who is discovered every century.

About a thousand centuries back, Lilith cheated on Lucifer with a maiden who was a succubus. She had sexual relations with her a lot of times, and got addicted to her. Lilith decided to implant one of her eggs into the succubus, and fused her egg with one of the succubus' eggs and became one.

It was believed that she wanted a child with that succubus. In the course of that, she deceived an angel into having sexual intercourse with the succubus, and she brought forth a child named Annaleah.

The counsel of elders in heaven and hell found out about the child, and realized she was the second most powerful being in the universe. She could heal, resurrect, create life itself, kill thousands, charm thousands of men, bring out your darkest desires, give you power and above all, take your power.

The counsel wanted to get rid of her because she was too dangerous, and was going to be used as a tool for mass destruction. Lilith pleaded with the counsel to let her child live, because it served as a union between she and her beloved maiden.

Lucifer also found out about Lilith's doing, and decided kill the child, but she was saved by the counsel and cursed by them to go to earth as a human.

On earth, a force of supernaturals will capture her using her weakness, rose flowers, and use her to cause mass destruction and wage war against another force of super naturals. The leader of supernaturals who will be attacked, will have to kill Annaleah to stop the war. Lilith was disheartened by what happened and pleaded with the counsel.

They told her it will be a cycle of centuries. She will be killed every century and reincarnate in the next century. The curse on Annaleah could be broken, and she could have her freedom, but no one was told. The counsel allowed the three parents to still have a bond with their daughter anytime she reincarnated, to help her to know who she was. In her natural state, she had immense beauty and powerful aura from Lilith, a horn, a tail and an eye charm from the succubus and white wings with a white glow from her father.

Annaleah could even bring out the softest part of a dark soul with just her aura. She was beyond beautiful in her natural state and any man would fall for her in just a glance. Of course she was part succubus, hence her aura could just make you fall madly in love with her, even in human form.

She was brought down to earth in human form. All the forces of supernaturals on earth found out about her, and the first to capture her was the werewolves. Her only weakness was rose flowers, and of course they used it on her to wage war on us, vampires.

They used her to resurrect a beast, their leader. He was the most powerful amongst them, not even us the vampires could face him, when Annaleah was around.

It could only be killed by a count after Annaleah is killed with a sword stained with the extracts from a rose. It therefore became the job of us, vampires to kill any Annaleah that reincarnated, in order to get rid of the beast or prevent the beast from resurrecting.

My father killed the last Annaleah that reincarnated, hence it was my turn to do so. He had been bitter since her death, and was never the same since that day. She was his better half.

We went through the maps around the kingdom, and to see how we could guard them against any werewolf attack.

I heard a loud scream from faraway, it was Ava.

"Father, my pet is in danger!" I ran off to where the sound was coming from to save my pet. The scent of her blood filled the air as I stepped outside the castle.

Whoever it was, the person was severely going to pay. It was then I saw Ava was on the ground, with Isabel feasting on her. I pulled her off Ava and ripped her head off. That was to remind her that I don't share. She was going to be okay, because the only way you could kill a vampire was by ripping its heart out.

Ava had passed out when I reached her. I was so angry, it was like she had left an effect on me. Upon realizing that she was no more, I let out a loud growl, which I'm sure everyone in the kingdom could hear. I carried her and realized her heart was still beating , within a flash, I rushed into the castle with her in my arms.

"Someone call Anon!" I yelled in the hallway.

Within some seconds, I was back in my room, waiting for Doctor Anon to arrive. Per the condition she was in, I couldn't put her on the ground, instead I laid her on my bed. Anon came in no time, stitched her up and gave her the required medications.

"She's going to be fine, why would you do this to her, and then try to treat her?"

"I didn't do this to her, second of all, mind your own business."

"I just wanted to kn-"

"Just get out." He ran out, banging the door. I hated old people.

I walked over to Ava who still hadn't opened her eyes. My father was going to rip my heart out if he saw her in that condition. He more powerful than I was, and could even kill with just a blink, by using his powers through his eyes to stop the flow of oxygen to your heart, and when he finally blinks, your heart bursts. I touched her palms and she was freezing cold, but another wave of power run through me.

"What are you? Answer me." Of course I was crazy to ask an unconscious person a question, but I needed to know why power ran through me anytime I touched her.

Was she even human?

She was having an effect on me, I've never cared about a human the way I cared about Ava. I put bandages around her stitches to protect them.

Her face seemed so heavenly in her sleep. What could have made them capture you, Ava? I moved my hands around her hair massaging her scalp.

It's your intransigence, isn't it? You silly little human.

I took one of the roses from the pot and put it in her hand, at least when she wakes up, she'll feel at ease. The moment I placed the rose in her hands she started to cough and mumble some words. I was glad she was awake but was trying to say something.

"What are you trying to say?"

"T-ro."

"Be audible!"

"The rose!" She said with every last bit of energy in her.

"I'm allergic to roses."

"Oh! I didn't know that, sorry." I said, taking it from her hand and throwing it away. Her palm had burnt up.

"I'm sorry, and really glad you're awake." "Wha-what happened?" she said in an attempt to sit up.

"No, lie back down. You need all the rest you can get." She looked down at the bandages and seemed to be remembering everything.

"Don't worry about Isabel, she won't be worrying you anytime soon, I can show you her head as proof." She looked disturbed from what I said. Haha.

"Haha. I'm going to continue my meeting with the count. Get some sleep." I said, as I gave her pat on the head and left. She was bringing out the sweet Ronin that I only brought out when I was with my mother.

Never did I want Ava to see the dark Ronin, but I just didn't want her to see how soft I could get, just yet.
