Chapter 4 4

KILLIAN

I could smell her as soon as I walked into the packhouse. I knew I would drag her home if I let my guard down, so for now, I had to be firm, commanding and indifferent. After all, she left me, I knew she needed to get her wolf under control, and the best way would be for her to be close to her family and Axel. I didn't think it would be this hard. I walked into the kitchen to see Lucy sitting there drinking her coffee. I guess Ellen didn't tell her I was coming because she looked shocked and aroused. I think she does still find me attractive. She needs to stop that look before I clear the counter and take her in front of everyone. I broke our intense staredown and turned to get coffee. She looked thin. Axel said she had missed some mealtimes. She won't eat for Axel. She will eat for me, or ill take her home. I knew she couldn't say no to waffles and bacon, so I started rummaging through the fridge and pantry to make breakfast. When I finished, I placed her plate in front of her and told her to eat or I would take her home. She ate so fast I thought she would choke. She finished her food and basically ran from the table.

"You can go after her, you know?" Axel broke me out of my thoughts.

"What?"

"You both clearly miss each other. You are still mates even if she is here. Go get her, remind her who her Alpha is!" He chuckled and winked. He was right. Just because we are apart doesn't mean we have to stay that way. I was still mad at her, but man, did I love her and miss her.

I left the kitchen, following her scent to her bedroom. She must have wanted me to follow because she didn't lock the door. I pushed the door open, and I saw her undressing through the half-closed ensuite door. She looked over her shoulder at me, her eyes begging me to join her in there. I tossed open the door and grabbed her face, and smashed my lips to hers, opening the shower door and bringing us under the water. I tossed my shirt off while still kissing every inch of her body. I stepped out of my shorts and looked her in the eyes.

"Fuck I missed you, baby." she slowly nodded and whispered in my ear.

"Fuck me. I want you so bad." She didn't have to ask me twice. I bit her mark and thrust it inside of her. Man, did she feel good. Even just a few weeks was too long not to taste her, not to feel her beautiful body against mine. She screamed in pleasure, and I pounded into her faster and harder until I felt her come undone. I could do this all day, but Axel and I had work to do, and she needed to be at training. I set her down in the shower kissed her again.

"I'll see you at lunch after training, ok?" She nodded.

"I love you...." She whispered it softly. If I weren't a wolf, I would have missed it.

"I love you more." a huge smile spread across her face. I left while she finished showering. I was headed over to Axel's room to steal some clothes and hash out the details of Lanie and the twin's protection. After discovering how rare and unique the twins were, all sorts of supernaturals would come for them. Lucy would try and protect them, and I wasn't about to let her become collateral damage, especially with how she and Astrid were right now.

LUCY

I got dressed slowly, reliving every minute of my shower. I really missed that man. He was part of me like nothing I had ever felt before. I really didn't want to go to training. I wanted a day off. I wanted to crawl into bed and watch Grey's Anatomy reruns. I dressed in yoga shorts and a sports bra. Secretly hoping Killian would finish his meetings early and watch me train, it turned me on a little thinking about how turned on he would be of me in these shorts. I smiled to myself as I went to meet liza, something I realized I hadn't been doing a lot of. Liza was in her usual spot on the porch in her rocking chair with a cup of tea.

"Sorry I am late. Killian needed to speak to me." I lied

"Sure, child, I wasn't born yesterday. You still smell of sex." I blushed, super awkward to think she knew what we did.

"Well, I am here now. Should we get started?"

"Yes, we should, today. You will be balancing your mind and soul."

"Um, in the training ring?"

"No, in the canoe." We made our way down to the lake. Liza sat in one canoe; I sat in another. She made me stand on the middle bench with my eyes closed.

"Feel the wind through your hair, feel water droplets on your skin. Be aware of all your surroundings."

Sounded easy enough, I focused on my breathing and feeling the wind as I had done a hundred times before. All of a sudden, I feel water soak me completely.

"What the...."

"I said beware of your surroundings, even nature. There will be witches, warlocks and vampires that will use shimmering or nature to distract you and kill you. Let's go again, focus."

I closed my eyes again and focused on my breathing, the water droplets dripping off of my freezing cold body. I focused on the shiver that went down my spine. I listened to the wind, the trees and with a flick of my wrist, I moved the tree that brushed the side of the canoe.

"Excellent, Lucy! That is what I am talking about." Liza beamed at my progress, which caught me off guard, and I missed the wave that flipped my canoe.

This was going to be a long day.
