She does not intend to run for office right now. She'd just texted a friend that she wasn't feeling well and that she was going to a clinic today for a checkup. She needs a maternity checkup to find out what vitamins to take, what foods to eat, and what fruits to eat for the baby in her womb. She's overjoyed to have a new life in her womb.
Smiling, she adjusted herself in the mirror. She was dressed simply in a white dress. She had a milk and sandwich breakfast before heading to the clinic. Her OB-Gyne prescribed vitamins for her and advised her on what she should and should not eat while pregnant. The doctor also said that her baby was healthy and she smiled.
She went to SM Mall after buying vitamins to get the food and fruit she needed. She was looking for something to purchase when she noticed Vraiellah at the meat station. She was hesitant to approach her, but when Ellah turned around and saw her, she changed her mind. She was the one who walked up to her with a big smile.
Her husband was standing behind her, and she nearly collapsed from embarrassment. Her boss! What will be her justification? She wished to sink into the earth.
"Hey, Abhaya?" Vraiellah speaks to her as if they've been friends for a long time, and she smiles.
She nodded and lowered her gaze. Even though she had been with them at events or parties several times because of Hudson, she was still intimidated by the presence of her boss, Mr. Malcogn.
"Can I first have a girl talk with her, baby? I promise to return home safe." Vraiellah said to her husband. They've finished their shopping. "However, first bring the groceries home, okay? Thank you very much!" Ellah then kissed her husband on the lips.
She was overcome with resentment. She hoped Hudson and she were like that, but they weren't. Hudson dislikes being on display in public.
"All right, bye, you two. When you get home, please call me. And, Ms. Sahada, please look after my wife; she's my entire world."
Mr. Malcogn turned around as she simply nodded. Ellah assisted her in her shopping while they talked. They only met twice, but she felt at ease with her. Maybe Because she's pregnant like her, and she'll admit Ellah is very kind. Unlike her, she wore a lot of masks. But she was sick of wearing any of her masks at this point.
They go straight to a tea shop after shopping.
"You vanished last night."
She cracked a grin. Ellah, the personification of her sister, came to mind. "I'm sorry I couldn't say goodbye to you as well."
Ellah smiled as she paid for the chocolate cake and tea that they had ordered. Her cellphone rang in the bag while they waited for their order. When she picked it up and looked at it, the name Hudson appeared. She stared at it for a long time, wondering if she should answer it, but it died before she could press the accept call button.
"Is that Herrence?" Ellah inquired and grinded.
She gave a nod. "He is, but he dropped the call; perhaps he called just to say hello."
Ellah had been silent for several minutes before responding and staring at her. She extended her hand and squeezed it. "I don't want to get involved, but Abhaya, you can count on me. I'm just here if you need someone to talk to. I don't have any friends, and I'd like you to be one of them."
Their order was arrived.
"Thank you very much. I want you to be my friend as well, Ellah, but I don't deserve to be your friend. You're too good to be true, and I'm a phony."
"Nope! We're friends from now on," she said, laughing.
She, too, laughed. Ellah is nice to her, and she appreciates it.
They both laughed as the two hours of storytelling came to an end. Ellah told her about its love story with Mr. Cuhen Malcogn and how his husband behaved. She was crying as she laughed. She had no idea her boss's wife had such sway over her.
WHEN SHE stepped out of the taxi, Hudson's car waited for her outside her apartment. She didn't notice him because she was preoccupied with something else. Overthink is most likely her master. She was out of breath and nervous. Even though Hudson appeared in front of her apartment on occasion, she couldn't help but tremble at his presence.
She hadn't even approached the gate when Hudson grabbed her arm. Her groceries had fallen to the ground, but her gaze was fixed on Hudson's face. She could tell he was upset.
"You deserve this punishment for leaving me at the party last night." It drew her into the vehicle. She didn't dislike anything. After all, when had she ever been able to dislike him?
Hudson kissed her on the lips sinfully. It ripped her clothes, and she simply stopped complaining. His kiss is painful, and he even bites her. If she complains, she will be warned of danger. She didn't say anything, not even a growl.
He ripped off her bra and tore her undies after ruining her dress. What she sees now is Hudson's other persona, a persona of Him when he is angry. She shuts her eyes. She didn't want to see what he'd do.
"Don't close your eyes, woman." He said it authoritatively, and she only nodded.
It bit her neck and left a mark on her. She bit her lower lip so hard it hurt. Hudson scribbled all over her neck, including her two breasts. The man cinched her two hands with his belt. She simply let him do it until he was finished and then let her go.
Hudson is big, so she isn't prepared when he enters her being, and it hurts. He bites her around the neck. She simply closed her eyes and burst into tears. Hudson has reverted to his former ferocity. He cum several times before feeling the hot liquid inside her womb. She gave a bitter smile.
He silently untied the belt that had bound her hand. He handed her his coat, which she put on, and then he pushed her out of his car, as if disgusted by her presence. After he started the car and adjusted her clothes, she didn't even bother to look at her. He abandoned her like a rag, and tears streamed down her cheeks as she gathered the items she had purchased that were scattered on the road.
"Hold on, baby. Your daddy is a war freak," she tried to cheer herself up despite the fact that the pain was tearing her heart apart.
She simply placed her purchases on the table and went straight to her bedroom to rest. She wasn't tired of talking to Ellah, but she was tired of Hudson. She was tired of crying and tired of being tired, so she decided to put it to sleep, just in case she didn't love the Hudson anymore when she woke up.
She awoke around six o'clock in the evening. While preparing dinner, she turned on her TV in the living room. She needed to eat for the baby in her womb. When her boss's name was mentioned, she paused for a moment.
She smiled as it received an award for being good at business, and Ellah was one of the people behind it receiving the award. When he heard the name Hudson Herrence, she continued to prepare.
When she saw a woman with Hudson on the news, she didn't say anything. As far as she knows, the woman is an actress. Hudson suspected the actress was his girlfriend, and before her heart could feel pain, she turned off the television and focused on what she was doing. She will only be hurt if she continues to watch because she knows it could be true or false.
She was about to drink a glass of milk before going to bed when her office colleague called. Its timing is excellent; it will call when she goes to bed.
"Hello?" she replied, bored.
"I saw him."
She was taken aback. She was speechless, and Abhaya's only option was to be blown away by the wind.
Freia is only aware of the superficial; that she and Hudson are in a relationship - a lustful relationship with no love involved. But what about her? It's been a while. She had no idea how to get out of this set up.
"I saw Dr. Hayes with another lovely woman - no, a lovely actress."
Frea could hear what she was saying despite the noise in the background. She closed her eyes and felt tears well up in her eyes, which she quickly wiped away.
"Nah don't bother anyway. I'm far too beautiful to pursue that dreaded Doctor! I can replace him again tomorrow morning." She pretended to laugh, but tears were already welling up in her eyes. Is it okay for her to be hurt?
Nothing. She closes her eyes and the tears, the pain, flow freely. Frea laughed at her response and quickly said her goodbyes.
She got ready for work early the next day.
She was dressed in a turtleneck dress with pants. She had to go to work because she had a parent to support in the province and she needed to make a living here in Manila. She was not requesting money or anything else from Hudson.
"Our manager informed you that Mr. Malcogn had called you. Oh, what a lunatic! What did you do this time?" Freia immediately opened her mouth for her. Her eyebags were darkening, indicating that she had only been sleeping for a few hours.
She rolled her eyes and went to the office of their company's big boss without saying anything. Mr. Malcogn only shows up once a month. Maybe it was too important to say, and she forgot she was with her boss's wife the day before.
When she entered Mr. Malcogn's large private office, he was facing a large portrait of his wife. She smiled inwardly. Who would believe this man is madly in love with his wife?
"Sir?"
It gave her a look. When he saw her, he gave her a small nod and pointed to the chair in front of her desk. She thanked him and sat down. She had no idea what he required because, after all, she was just another employee.
Mr. Malcogn reached for her files, and she looked at it, surprised, and opened what was in the folder. When she read her promotion, she was taken aback for a moment. Was what she read accurate? She's been promoted to supervisor?! Wait a minute... She only works as an Administrative Assistant. How did she get a job when she was only a year old? Something appears to be wrong...
"What you've read is accurate, Ms. Sahada. I personally promoted you. I saw your track record and dedication to your work, and it inspired me to make you our new supervisor. One more thing: it's in the United States. The company's liabilities are housing and transportation." He said it directly, which added to her confusion.
"Wait, sir, I'm not opposed to the promotion, but America? I mean, there are more qualified-"
"Are you saying you're ineligible?"
"Yes! No way. I mean, Sir..."
"Five of these companies, as well as Ms. Freia, the Marketing Assistant, will be sent to the United States. No need to worry, it's only a matter of time, perhaps two or six months depending on how you deal with the people out there." Mr. Malcogn seemed to think as he rotated the ballpen.
She was unable to respond. Why, instead of being happy, did she feel so depressed? She appeared to be on the verge of crying at any moment. She couldn't figure it out, as if something was wrong.
"I interpret your silence as a yes. Good morning, Ms. Sahada. You may return to your office, please." He opened the laptop, and all of its attention was drawn to it.
She said her goodbyes politely and floated out of his office. She was filled with a variety of emotions. Previously, she desired to be promoted and travel to America; however, why does she not appear to be happy now that her wish has been granted? It was as if half of her heart and life were going to be lost. God!
She had to inform Hudson of this.
Is it, however, truly necessary?
