Chapter 3 Unexpected visit

When I got home from my interview with Mr grumpy man, that was the name I decided I would call him for now because I found no reason to call him by his name. I rushed to my room and changed into a Mickey mouse pyjama and packed my hair into a messy bun and then took my phone that was continuously ringing on my night stand, unlocked it and picked the call.

"Hello mum," I said as I shifted to the small window near my bed and gazed through the shaped clouds.

"Isabelle! When are you coming home?" She asked in a questionable tone.

"Mum!" I answered. "I have no reason to be home, so please stop pretending that you care about me and just go straight to the point, why did you call?"

"Watch your mouth! Since you finished college you haven't done anything meaningful with your life unlike your younger sister who is engaged to a well-known billionaire," she said.

I've never been the favourite child, even though I was the first born. My mother disliked me for no reason, whilst my dad only talked to me when he felt like. At least he didn't nag me as mum does.

I waited for some seconds before disconnecting the call, switched the phone off and threw it on the bed. I shivered as the cold air hit me making my hair fly around my face. It was freezing and am sure anytime from now I will start raining. Seeing the bright moon peeking from the window and I went to bed.

It was the sunshine that woke me up the next day.... I frowned and stood up from the bed to check the time. My eyes were wide open when I checked the time, it was 10 o'clock which showed I was very tired last night, I thought as I pushed my hand over my mouth yawning out loud.

one put a lovely smile on my face. I took the coffee and walked back into my room to freshen up. Soon I changed into something simple and comfortable, since I was not planning to go anywhere except if Jenny showed up at my doorstep. My eyes fell on my phone laying on the bed as I was sipping the coffee, I switched the phone on and checked through my call history and messages. The only new message was from Jenny telling me that she had been calling my phone since.

Knock! Knock!

I sighed as I stood up to check who it was.

"Okay! okay! am coming." I shouted at the top of my lungs since the door bell continued to ring.

'Who could it be?' I thought to myself, my parents and younger sister were not the type to visit me and as for Jenny, she would have notified me if she would be coming.

I hurriedly opened the door without even looking through the eye hole, by which I later regretted my actions because it could be a complete stranger or a.... gosh! I panicked.

A man dressed in a black suit was standing in front of me smirking.

I was confused and surprised when I saw who it was. I pinched my face to be sure I wasn't dreaming.

"What are you doing here?" I asked in desperation.

"Oh!" Mike exclaimed, pushing me out of the way and made his way into the room and also glancing through the entire area.

"Not bad." he said sarcastically. "Is this how you welcome your visitors or you just chose not invite me in? Also, I've been calling you since 8am this morning but your phone has been switched off, so can you do us all a favour by switching it on?" he asked.

"Uh?" was the only word that came out of my mouth when I opened it to reply to his questions. My gaze landed on his face.... damn this guy is beautiful, his brown eye balls pierced into mine, and made my body shiver. His hair was tossed at one side and his hands were in his pocket.

"What brings you here? How and why did you manage to find my place?" I asked him.

He smiled and took three steps to cover the distance between us, he leaned a little. "Aren't you flattered to see me here in your apartment?"

I faked a smile. "That is the last thing I would feel about you." I replied him.

Some minutes passed, an hour passed before we realized we've been talking.

I discovered later that Jenny gave him my contact and my address was written inside my resume. He also told me to start my post the next day and enlightened me about his rules and regulations for being his assistant.
