Chapter 5 VICE PRESIDENT IS RESPONSIBLE

CHAPTER 05

XAVIER'S POV

For once I thought she was gonna kiss me because we were so close that our nose touched.

Instead, she brought out a pistol and pointed it at me.

"Next time, if you ever try to help me when I bluntly told you not to, then I won't hesitate before blowing off your head" She threatened and looking at her she meant every word she said.

"And next time you pull me this close to yourself, then I'll end up kissing you" I replied and she pushed me off.

" Call me anytime you need my help" I added.

"Get out" She replied pointing at the door.

I headed to the door but turned to get a glimpse of her face but it was expressionlessly.

This lady is really a witch.

ALEX'S POV

Xavier left and I tried calming myself down.

Mehn, I hate that guy.

His presence alone irritates me.

My phone started vibrating and I checked the caller ID.

Anger ran through me again.

Of all people, why is this stupid man calling me?

"Hello, princess, longest time" His voice said.

" Why did you do what you did today?" I asked.

" Did what, sweetheart" He asked.

" Don't try to fool yourself cause you can't fool me. Do you think I'm not aware that you were the one who planted that bomb to kill ?" I scoffed and silence fell between us.

"What happened, are you now speechless?" I asked with a smirk.

" How were you able to find out?" He asked.

"Do you think I'm a fool?..

"I only did what I did today cause I was getting impatient. You were sent to kill Xavier but still you've done literally nothing" He replied.

" So you finally admitted it?" I huffed angrily.

"Yes, I was the one who sent those robbers to plant the bomb to kill Xavier, so what? "He asked.

" Listen, Mr vice president, don't you ever try to meddle in my mission ever again or it will only take me a second to wipe you out of existence" I threatened.

" I will show you mercy by not informing boss about it but don't dare test my patience ever again" I added.

" Ok, ok, I won't just calm down beauty queen" He said and I released a bullet on the ceiling.

I could sense him flinch back in fear.

"What was that fo?r" He shuttered.

"That will be your head if I hear that from your mouth again" I said and ended the call.

FOOL!

I will deal with him later, for now I have something to handle.

I brought out my laptop where I connected all those cameras to.

I opened it and quickly turned to Xavier room.

He was on a call, he soon grabbed his car keys and left.

I switched to the hall way and something caught my attention.

There was this particular room I haven't actually noticed since I came and something inside me was telling me that there's something inside.

I took my crutches and made my way to the hall way.

When I arrived at the door it was locked with a passcode.

I brought out my touch containing ultraviolet light.

I displayed it on the lock and slowly Xavier finger print was shown on 4 numbers;5 3 5 9.

That was the password.

The door opened and I entered.

I saw a book shelf and headed to it.

I noticed yet another lock shelf besides the book shelf.

I approached it but first of all turned off the security alert.

I twisted the shelf and it opened.

I brought out lots of documents and started going through them.

My eyes almost plucked out by what I saw.

Fuck!

This guy is stingingly rich.

He owns all this fortune but still he prefers living like this.

Wow, I'm impressed.

But wait, why will an F. B. I agent hide such a fortune here with no tight security?

Something ranged in my brain immediately.

This only means one thing;

This documents are not the actual one.

The real document is in a place with a tighter security and that place is no other than the bank.

So if I want to get a hold on the real documents, then I'll have to go the bank safe lock.

Perfect!

I kept those documents back and left.

At least I've figured out something.

Now back to Mr vice president.

Time to teach that fool a lesson.

I dialed Jace's number and he picked up.

Jace is actually among our crew.

He is the hacker among us and he's a genius.

He hacks through anything in the world.

"Hey Alexa, what sup" He greeted.

"I need you to do something for me" I said

"Erm.. okay, go" He replied.

" I need you to send me the video of all my conversation with the vice president about killing the President" I said.

" Can I know why"Jace asked.

" Someone needs to be thought a lesson and one more thing, I need you to hack through his bank account and transfer everything he has to boss"I added.

" Okay, consider it done"Jace said and ended the call.

Within few minutes, I received the video.

XAVIER'S POV

I arrived home and met Eva at the sitting room.

Hmm, how was she able to climb down the stairs?.

"Hey" I greeted and headed to the fridge to get myself some water.

"Went to talk to the commander?" She asked, her gaze on the television.

" Yep" I replied and gulped down some water.

"What did they figure out about the explosion" She asked.

"Well, your were right, it was a trap. We caught those criminals and after much torture, they told us everything was all a plan to have me killed" I replied.

" Told ya"She replied.

" But the question is who? Who is trying to end my life" I asked and she turned.

" I think I know who" She replied.

" Who? "I asked.

" You should watch this" She replied and gave me her laptop.

She clicked on a video and it started playing.

Shock ran through me as I watched the video.

Of all people I suspected, the vice president was responsible?.

First he killed my father and now he wants me dead to?

Well, I'm not that much surprised.

He was my first suspect anyway.

"I saw it on Twit flash, it was uploaded by an unknown profile" Eva said.

I clicked on the link in the video to know who uploaded it but the account was already deleted.

What I don't understand is why only the back of the assassin was shown on the video?

Why wasn't her face visible?

"Everyone in America now knows about it because it's all over the news now" Eva said and she was right.

The headline in the news was written clearly;

"THE VICE PRESIDENT EXPOSED OF BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PRESIDENTS DEATH AND ALSO THE EXPLOSION IN MAIMI."

"Hmm.. I see. So if he's actually the one behind my dad's death, it means he knows something about the assassin" I replied.

" Then you better call our crew to secure the office of the vice president so he won't try to escape" Eva said and I nodded.

I was about calling them when Eva's voice halted me.

"Oh, oh" Eva exclaimed.

"What?" I asked and she pointed to the television.

I turned and saw a new headline;

"VICE PRESIDENT FOUND DEAD IN HIS OFFICE. VICE PRESIDENT COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER BEEN EXPOSED"

The picture of his dead body was shown.

He was hanging in the air with a rope tied around his neck and tied to the ceiling fan.

"DAMN IT!!"I cursed.

"Eva pack your bags, we're heading back to Orlando" I instructed............

We already arrived at Orlando and right now we're on our way to our headquarters.

I heard the news about the vice presidents account being hacked, so informed my paddy Liam to help track down the hacker.

Liam is actually a C.I .A but he focus more on hackers.

We entered his office and looks like he was already up to the task.

"Found anything" I asked and he nodded.

"I almost got his location but I lost him" Liam said.

" But I've gotten his identity" He added.

"Okay and what's his identity" I asked.

"His name is Jace Peyton,

Age=24 ,born in Mexico but moved in to Orlando.

He's a hacker, a great one" Liam disclosed.

" How are we gonna track down his location then?" I asked.

" Let's set a trap for him" Eva said and turned looking at her.

" How?" Liam and I asked at the same time.

" He's a hacker right?" Eva asked and I nodded.

"Good. How about one of us uploaded a very huge amount on our net worth online. We'll let him try to hack the account and at the same time track down his location" Eva said and I smiled at her.

She's is extremely smart.

"That's a great idea" Liam said.

"Don't worry I'll be the one to do it, I'll send you the details you need and the amount you're to upload" I said.

" You know what to do Liam, for now Eva and I need to go" I added.

" Okay, sure" Liam said and we left.

We headed to the vice presidents office.

We need to be sure whether he actually committed suicide or not.

AT THE VICE PRESIDENTS OFFICE

We met Zoey (she is also a C.I.A)at the vice presidents office.

"What happened?" I asked.

"The footage shows that he actually killed himself. Maybe he was so ashamed to face the crowd after his exposure" Zoey explained and I let out a frustrating sigh. Just when I needed him to help me get to the assassin, he stupidity killed himself

"Okay. You continue cleaning up everything, Xavier and I need to finish up something "Eva said.

" Okay" Zoey nodded before we left.

"Let's go check on Liam" Eva suggested and I nodded.

We went back to our headquarters.

" Any news" I asked Liam.

"He was able to hack the account but I located him" Liam said.

"How much did he hack" Eva asked.

" $100m"Liam said and Eva's eyes almost plucked out.

"Don't worry I've got more than that" I replied.

"Okay Liam, call some of our crew and send them to the location" I said

" I've already done that" Liam replied.

Liam's phone rang immediately and he picked up.

"Hello" He answered.

"What!!!" He exclaimed.

Hmm ,I wonder what happened

" Ok"He added before ending the call.

"What happened" I asked.

"He escaped before they could make it" Liam replied, disappointment written all over his face.

I ran my hands through my hair in frustration.

"Damn it" I cursed.

"Just when we were close" Eva said and I sighed.

" Well we'll have to go then, thanks for the help Liam" I said.

" Always a pleasure" Liam replied with a broad smile.

" And also, nice meeting such a beautiful lady like you Eva" Liam added but his smile died down when Eva didn't return it but instead she nodded.

"She's always like that" I whispered to him.

"Ok,got to go now" I said and we left.

ALEXA'S POV

We arrived at Xavier's house and I was so exhausted.

I got to admit, the work of an agent is not an easy one.

Always running around.

After taking my bath and having my dinner cause it was already late, I decided to go check out the garden.

When I got there and saw Xavier.

I wanted to turn back but I decided not to.

"Hey" I said snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Oh, you're here" He asked and flashed me those captivating smiles.

"Trying to feel nature after all those running around?" I asked and I seriously don't even know why I asked that.

" Yep,how's your leg?" he asked.

"Much better, at least I don't need your help anymore" I replied and he chuckled.

"How long have you been an agent?" I asked out of a blue.

" Since I was 18"He replied.

" I actually wanna ask you something" I said.

"Okay, go ahead" He replied.

" What about the presidents wife, your mom?" I asked and his smile died down.

Pain became visible in his eyes.

" Hey, you can decide not to talk about it if you don't want to" I said.

" It's okay, you asked me about it so I have to tell you" He replied and I nodded.

" My mom left when I was 15"He said.

"Left as in your dad divorced her or she left on her own" I asked.

" I wish" He replied with a bitter chuckle.

"My mom left to go visit s a friend after her and my dad had a serious fight and never came back. After searching for her for weeks, her body was found in a lake. She was beheaded" Xavier explained.

Fuck?

So all my doubt were right, it was Xavier's mom I beheaded.

He looked at the sky immediately and I could sense he was trying to fight his tears.

Somehow, deep inside I feel for him.

Maybe because I understand how it feels to loose a loved one in death.

And to make matters worse, I was the one who killed his mom.

Well she deserves it because that woman is more heartless than I am.

I brought out my handkerchief and gave it to him.

"Hey, you can cry if you want to, I won't laugh at you" I said and he let out a slight laugh.

" Can I hug you "He asked out of a blue and I was shocked.

"Can i?" He asked again.

What!!Of course not.

" Yes" I replied even before I could stop myself.

You're supposed to say no Alexa not yes.

He pulled me to himself, his hands wrapped around my waist.

I decided not to hug back, so as not to send the wrong impression.

"Happy now" I asked immediately he pulled out.

"Much better" He replied with a smile.

A tiny smile formed on my lips but I made sure he didn't see it..........
