CHAPTER 04

ALEXA'S POV (EVA)

We arrived home and I quickly freshened up.

Jeez, I'm famished.

I got downstairs to the kitchen and met Xavier.

We searched the whole kitchen but didn't find any food.

"What!!! No food? What am I gonna eat?" Xavier and I exclaimed at the same time.

" I'm so tired to cook now and im hungry" Xavier said and I headed to the freezer.

I opened it and I saw a left over meatballs.

"Phew, something to eat" I muttered.

"Really?" Xavier beamed in excitement.

" Ermm.... Thick tock, there's only one bowl" I hissed.

"So?" Xavier asked with a frown.

" So, it's only for one person and that person is me" I replied warming it in the microwave.

" You don't expect me to go hungry while you eat, do you? "He glared and I nodded.

" Can't we share?" He asked.

" Nope. I hate sharing especially not with someone like you" I snapped at him.

"But it's not fair" He protested.

" Duuhh, like life is ever fair" I replied rolling my eyes.

" Then, if I won't eat, you won't eat either" He said snatching the bowl from me.

" Hey ,give that back" I shot him a hard glare.

"Nope" He replied scooping a spoon.

I was already getting irritated and annoyed.

"Give... that.... Bowl..... back" I said, my teeth crashing against each other.

" Nope" He replied and ran off.

I ran after him, yelling at him.

We were already fighting for the food when the bowl slipped from our hands and fell to the floor.

"Arrrghh. Now you've poured the food away" I snapped, my face already red with anger.

" If only you shared" He snapped back

" Fuck you" I said and headed to the kitchen.

Now I'll have to prepare something or I'm gonna starve.

"Need some help" Xavier asked.

"No, and hey guess what, I'm preparing what I am gonna eat so you better go prepare what you'll eat" I snapped.

XAVIER'S POV

We ended up preparing two different foods; Mine and hers.

When we were done, we went to the sitting room, watching a movie as we do justice to our foods.

"This movie is boring" Eva groaned.

"Yeah, I agree with you, totally" I backed her up.

I saw the remote placed on top of the table facing us and I guess Eva has seen it to.

We looked at each other, then to the remote, then back to each other and then to the remote.

I stretched out my hand to grabbed the remote and Eva did the same.

"Hey, give it back, I caught it first" Eva said.

"That's a lie, I caught it first" I replied.

" Let go of the remote, are we gonna fight over it too?" Eva groaned, pulling it with full force and I also did the same.

The remote ended up flying up to the air and scattering to pieces on the ground

"Great, now you've spoilt the remote too" Eva threw her hands up in a dramatic manner.

"Oh wait, if only you gave it to me" I hissed.

" So I'm at fault here?" She asked

" Yep"I replied and she scoffed.

" You know what, I'm out of here" Eva said and made to leave but I pulled her back and both of us fell to the coach.

Our lips met immediately and starring into a deep blue eyes, my heart began beating faster than usual like it was gonna explode

I pulled Eva closer to deepen the kiss but she quickly pushed me off and stood up.

"Don't try to cross your line Xavier" Eva warned.

I could sense the anger in her voice because she shot me those deadly glares.

"Am sor......" I tried saying but she already stormed off.

Good. Now she's angry with me because of my stupidity.

Why did even pull he to myself at the first place?

I'll apologize to her tomorrow and I think I know how.

NEXT MORNING

ALEXA'S POV (EVA)

I went downstairs when I was done bathing.

I was still at the staircase when I started perceiving some amazing and mouthwatering aroma.

Even my stomach agrees with me.

Who is cooking this early?

Is it Xavier?

Of course it has to be Xavier cause there are only the two of us living in this house.

"Good morning" Xavier greeted immediately he spotted me but I ignored.

"I'm almost done, go sit at the dinning table" Xavier added.

I complied and headed to the dinning.

Soon he dished out the food and served it.

I was staring at him trying to calculate why he's doing all this.

"What? Com'on eat up" Xavier said.

"And why should I?"I asked.

" And why shouldn't you? "He asked back.

Ooh,so now he's replying my question with a question.

Wow, he got some nerves.

If only he knew what I am capable of doing to him, he won't dare reply my question with a question.

"Are you doing all this as a way of apologizing?" I asked and he stopped eating.

" Ok, yes" He answered.

"And you think all this stuff will get me,huh?" I asked, my anger already boiling.

" Ermm...yeah.. maybe" He mumbled.

"Listen" I snapped angrily hitting my hand hard on the table, hard enough to break it.

"I don't have the time to waste my anger on you, but you better not try what you did last night or you might not have the hand to do all this. STAY WITHIN YOUR LIMITS"I warned and left.

And not to forget, I took my food along.

Finally I was done inserting cameras everywhere in the house.

Been planning that ever since I came and finally I was done.

Xavier later told me there is a robbery case in an office and right now we're on our way.

Immediately we arrived, I asked Xavier where the security room was located.

He told me on the 30th floor.

I headed to the 30th floor immediately.

Upon getting there, I searched through the CCTV and saw the two robbers in the elevator, heading to the 3rd floor.

I entered the other elevator and when I reached at the 3rd floor, I waited for them to come out.

They elited from the other elevator but I blocked them.

"Hey,young lady step out of our way or else I'll shot" One of them said pointing a gun at me.

I kicked the gun off his hand and sent a hard punch, making some of his tooth fell off.

I grabbed the other by the collar and pushed both of them into the elevator.

To end the story short, I dealt with them and tied them up.

I was about calling Xavier but instead he called.

"Eva where are you" He asked and I could sense the worry in his voice.

"In the building of course" I replied.

"You need to get out of there right now" He said.

"But I just caught the criminals so what's wrong" I asked.

" Forget about them and get out now" He replied.

"Why?" I asked.

"I'll tell you once you're out" he replied.

"No. I'm not moving an inch till you tell me what's wrong" I insisted.

" Eva, this isn't a time to become stubborn, it's important you leave that building now" He almost yelled.

" Still not moving an inch" I shrugged and Xavier sighed in frustration.

"Ok, listen; There's a bomb planted in the building and it's gonna explode soon, so you get out of that building now" He replied .

" Is that all?" I asked scoffing.

" Ok, I'll be out soon" I added before ending the call.

Thought it was something important, just a bomb.

I ain't scared of that stuff.

Since I was at the third floor, I decided to jump off the stairs.

Wouldn't be a problem because I'm a gymnastics.

I jumped off and was about landing but I missed a step and landed the wrong way.

A sharp pain ran through my body and that only shows one thing; I've broken my leg and I can't move an inch.

HOLY MOLLY!!!!!.

XAVIER'S POV

Eva is taking too much time to come out.

Did she even understood what I told her?

I've been waiting for her since no one allowed me to enter inside the building but I can't take it anymore.

Eva needs my help and I don't think I can forgive myself if anything happens to her.

I took 4 steps forward before they pulled me back.

"You can't go in there Xavier , it's too dangerous" They said.

"Eva is inside and I need to get her out, so don't try to stop me" I warned.

I took another two step but then

BOOM!.

The building exploded.

The force and the heat was too much that it blown everything away.

I could hear glasses scattering to pieces.

Due to the force of the explosion, I loosed my balance and with full force, I hit my head on the pavement and passed out.........

I slowly opened my eyes.

At first everywhere was a little bit blurry but after my vision became clear.

I looked around and noticed that I was at the hospital.

What am I doing here?

Something rang in my brain immediately.

"EVA" I exclaimed jerking up from the hospital bed.

I removed the drip that was inserted in my hand and got up.

I made to move but my head started spinning.

A slight headache ran through my head.

I supported myself with the edge of the bed.

"What are you trying to do?" A voice asked and I looked up to saw Dr Jordan.

He approached and helped me sit on the bed.

"You can't move Xavier, you just suffered from a head injury" Dr Jordan said.

" Where's Eva" I asked immediately.

My heart was already pounding out of nervousness.

What if something happened to her?

What if she didn't make it out on time?.

To my amazement, a sharp pain pierced through my heart, thinking about what might have happened to her and seriously don't even understand why.

"She's at the other ward receiving some treatment" Dr Jordan said.

I hived out a sigh of relief.

"I want to see her" I said immediately.

"But you're still........ "

" Am perfectly fine"I cut him off.

He nodded and help me stood up.

We arrived at her ward and I rushed in immediately.

I saw her lying on the bed with a bandage wrapped around her right leg.

"What happened to her" I asked.

"She has a severe leg injury or let's put it this way; a broken leg"Dr Jordan answered.

I walked to her bed and held her hand, starring at her.

Wow! Even with her eyes closed, she looks extremely beautiful.

I bet she's a goddess.

She slowly opened her eyes and I flashed her a smile.

She looked around her and jerked up immediately.

"What on earth am I doing at the hospital" She asked, shocked.

" You had some injuries, so they brought you here" I replied.

She pulled out the drip on her and pushed me off.

She stood up and made to go but she loosed her balance and was about falling but I held her.

"You can't move Eva, you've broken you leg" I whispered to her.

" Hey doctor, I want you to discharge me right now, I'm perfectly fine" She snapped.

" But, you're........... "

" I said am perfectly okay doctor" she snapped angrily.

Jeez. Why is she behaving this way?

" Okay, here are you crutches" Dr Jordan said and Eva snatched it from him before he could even finish whatever he wanted to say.

We were discharge and we arrived home.

I offered her a glass of water but she refused.

I kept the glass of water on the table in front of her and she took it, gulping it down.

Ok, seriously?

She refused to accept the water because I gave it to her?.

"Are you okay now?" I asked.

"Do I look okay to you? "She asked.

" No"I replied.

" Then go wash some lenses for yourself" She snapped.

"I've been thinking of something lately"I said.

" What?" she asked.

" How come we didn't notice that a bomb was planted in the building" I asked.

" Because it was a trap" She replied immediately which caught me off guard.

" Trap? How is that a trap" I asked.

" Because those criminals are not actual criminals and didn't come to rob the office. They only came there to plant the bomb, knowing full well that the F. B. I which includes you Xavier will try to stop them and if the F. B. I arrives they will all be killed in the bomb blast" She explained.

" It was a plan to kill you. The whole robbery thing was just a set up" She added and I was already staring at her in shock, my lips parted.

This lady is extremely smart.

I couldn't even come up with this.

"But who will want to kill me" I asked and she scoffed.

" Looks like you've forgotten that you're the late presidents son, so you got lots of enemies "She said and I let out an " oh".

" Listen Xavier, you better go learn how to deal with your enemies. I don't wanna get involve in your issues, okay? "She added and with the help of her crutches, she stood up and headed to the stairs.

"You might need help, yunno" I said with a smirk.

" I don't need your help" She replied.

I approached her, collected the crutches from her and swiped her off her feet, carrying her in a bridal style.

"Hey, bring me down moron" She protested but I ignored and headed to her room.

I laid her gently on her bed.

I was about leaving but she grabbed me by the collar and pulled me to herself...........
