Chapter 8 Ep 8

"Girls this is our men's choir members: at my side, it's Josh, Raymart, Leandro, Henry, and Justine. The others are inside the chapel so maybe later I will introduce them to you." Mark said. The group greets us.

I can't look at Leandro long because he stared at me. Why he is staring at me like that? Is he interested in me? I thought.

"Are you leave here in Sergovia?" Henry asked in no particular. We stared at him.

"No. They are not here." Marites answered.

"Oh, are they a college student?" Asked Justine.

"No, we are still in high school," Marites said.

"What school?" Leandro spoke this time.

"Same as mine. Maullier High School." Marites said.

"Oh, that is near to place. We also came from the school except for Henry and Leandro."

"Oh, that is good to hear," Mylene said.

"Maybe you are hungry, did you try the food?" Leandro said.

"No. Not yet." Marites said.

"Let's go. Let's try the food." Leandro said.

"Sure!" Marites and Mylene said together. I just smile and quietly followed them.

"Do you feel good?" Leandro asked me. I was surprised when I heard him at my back when I get a plate.

"Oh, yeah. I'm good." I said not looking at him. I go straight to the buffet and put a spoon of everything on my plate.

"Are you graduating in high school like Marites?" He asked. I thought I left him. I never expected that he follows me at the buffet table.

"Oh, yes," I replied.

"Are you classmates?" He asked.

"No. Mylene and I are classmates," I said.

"I see. Good thing that you come to the party here. We met you." He said smiling. I glanced at him.

"Oh, yeah. It's nice to meet you." I replied.

"What time did you finish your last subject?" He said. I was stunned but I replied.

"Six o'clock," I replied. He keeps silent.

When I finish putting my plate with food, I went to Mylene and Marites's table, he followed behind me. I try to hide my nervous feeling. Henry is on the table also with Mark.

"Hey, Leandro. Are you also joining us at this table? Mark asked.

Yes." He said and he pull the chair for me and he let me take my seat before he take his seat beside me. Marites and Mylene glance secretly at each other. I feel also the striking stares from the girls who saw the gentlemanliness of Leandro to me. They envied me.

I quietly eat my food. The three men starts to chat, Marites joined them. Mylene and I feel shy but the three boys make sure that we joined to their conversation. They are entertainers, I think. In the whole event, Henry and Leandro are with us.

Henry and Leandro drove us to the exit and Mylene took a taxi for us.

"Thank you for tonight," I said to the two boys.

"Did you enjoy the party?" Henry asked. We nod.

"Oh, yes," I said.

"Yeah. We enjoyed ourselves so much. And thank you for accompanying us." Mylene said.

"That is good to hear," Henry said.

"Are you here next Sunday?" Leandro said. I glanced at Mylene.

"Yes," Mylene said.

"Okay, maybe we could meet after the worship service. We will schedule early morning at seven. Is that okay with you?" Henry said.

"Yeah, sure!" Mylene replied.

"Are you fine that early morning, Elaida?" Leandro asked me.

"Oh, yeah. I am going with her." I replied.

"Okay see you and take care," Henry said. He opens the door for us.

"Thank you, guys!" We said in unison. Leandro stared at me with a smile. I smile, too. The driver drives the taxi.

Mylene and I were happy to go home. As usual, I slept at Mylene's house. I'll just wake up early tomorrow to have breakfast and hang out at Mylene's house again. I just texted my dad for I am staying at Mylene tonight for tomorrow night I'm going home. My phone vibrates. It's my dad.

Dad: Okay, Elaida. See you tomorrow night. Take care. Give my regards to Mylene. Goodnight.

Me: Thank you, Dad. I will. Love you. Goodnight.

I put back my phone in my bag.

"Hey, my dad said regards to you." I sid to Mylene.

"Give my thanks to him," Mylene said.

The next morning Mylene and I woke up early and finished our projects. After this, we talked about Henry and Leandro again.

"Do you think, Henry likes me?" She asked me.

"I think, yes," I said.

"Oh, how did you know?" She asked.

"Well, I can say that he is always looking at you at worship day. And last night, he doesn't want to stay away from you. Like last night, his friend called him but he excused himself not to disturb our table." I plainly said while coloring my drawing using watercolors.

"Oh, yes. He did it last night." She shuddered when she remembered last night. She elbows my arm.

"Hey, I am coloring, can't you see?!" I complain.

"Leandro likes you. He always followed you last night, huh?!" She starts with the topic that I was afraid to open up.

"No. It was just your illusion, girl. Of course, he will sit at our table because of Henry. I think they are best of friends, did you not notice their closeness?" I said trying to lure her.

"Hmm, I think you are right. They are closeness but you see, every Sunday, it's not only Henry who looked in my direction, too. Leandro is looking in our direction and now I am sure he is looking at you" She said.

"What?! What a stupid idea. He is looking at the girl at my back, not me. Are you in drugs?" I said.

"I'm not in drugs, you fool! How can he look at your back last time when the woman at your back last Sunday is an old woman as his grandmother?!" Mylene exclaimed. I laughed at loud when she said that.

"Oh, God?" I asked her with amusement. She nods with a serious look.

"Yes. I thought it first, like you, she is looking at the woman at your back, not you but, omg, the woman is like our grandmother. Do you think he will have at least a crush on her?" She said with his right brow raised. I chuckled.

"It made sense. But honey, you know maybe there is a girl at the back of that old woman he is looking for but that is not me. Ha! Ha! Ha!" I said laughing out loud. Mylene rolled her eyes.
