He went on a business trip and returned home with Daisy. She didn't remember anything, not even her name. The first day Sharon set her eyes on her she had known that she wasn't an ordinary lady. She had supernatural powers. Her hair wasn't as long as Odette's but her eyes did change a lot. From dark shade to gray. She couldn't call her a witch because she was different in everything.
Sharon was so desperate that she enchanted Daisy after she had given birth to Odette. Odette's father never knew that she was behind all their misfortunes. She just wanted to have her way. She didn't care if she hurt a thousand souls. All she ever wanted was Odette's father.
Years over years, she wanted more, all his properties and Odette's magic power. She wasn't sure how she was going to do it but she knew one day she was going to vanquish her. She tried to create a war between Odette and her father, but it didn't work. If she had known, she wouldn't have killed her father because after she did, that was when she knew that all his properties had been transferred to Odette.
Nothing was left for Sharon and daughters.
She had to find a way and put an end to Daisy. for now she needed to eliminate Odette out of her way. There must be another way, she thought. The pearl pin couldn't be her only weakness. She had to find another way out before she lost everything.
Sharon walked out of the room and headed toward the dark room. She halted when she reached Kendra's room. Her door was slightly opened. She peeped in and saw how Kendra had scattered her room, including her backpack.
She strolled in and stood beside the door. "What's the matter, Kendra?" She inquired.
"I can't find the tape." She said while looking under her bed.
"What tape?" Sharon grinned at the thought that she was going to need her assistant. This was her only chance to use her, she thought.
"Mum, are you here to mock me or what? Please don't distract me. Moreover, when do you start caring about me? All you know is Kennedy and your evil plans. Please just leave my room and leave me alone. I don't need your help, how am I sure you don't know about it." She said and started arranging her things.
"Really? Kendra, but I'm your mother." Sharon snapped.
"I regretted you ever being my birth mother the day you tried to hurt Odette. If you want me to love you just the way you deserve, leave Odette alone and fix your daughter's miserable life." She seethed and stomped out, leaving Sharon alone in the room.
"Wh-what?" She widened devastatingly.
Was she really her daughter? Sharon wondered.
"Oh no,this can be happening? What have you done to my daughter, Odette? Did she really say all that to me? Her mother?"
Kennedy may be her first child but Kendra was the apple of her eyes. She had to pretend as if she never loved her because she chose Odette over her. What Kendra did infuriated her. She glanced around the room before walking out.
Kendra didn't really need a witch or wizard to tell her that Kennedy took the tape. She stomped inside her room. She met her already dressed for school. She smiled to herself and ran her fingers through her hair.
"Never knew that you're now a thief Kennedy, but trust me you've messed with the wrong person. Where is the tape?" She asked and extended her hand toward her.
"Wh-what tape are you talking about?
"The one you took. Oops! The one you stole from me. I want my tape back." She said hostilely.
"What do you mean? I didn't steal anything from you, kendra. Please leave me alone." She said and grabbed her backpack.
"And you want me to believe you? I'm going to ask again. Where the hell is the tape?"
"Leave my daughter alone, Kendra. She'll never steal anything from you." Sharon butted in.
Kendra huffed and rolled her eyes.
"We ain't done with this conversation, Kennedy. I swear I'm still coming for you. Dumb head." She walked out furiously to prepare for school.
What was she supposed to do? She didn't know what to tell Odette if she asked about the tape. There was no way she could get the tape from Kennedy, Sharon would never give her a chance.
They alighted from the car. Kendra walked toward the classroom. Genevieve and Mia sat patiently on their chairs. Immediately they saw her, they rushed toward her. "Where is it?" They extended their hands to her.
"I didn't bring it." She mumbled.
"Well, you have twenty four days left." Genevieve said.
"And you have just a week to break up with Mr handsome and you..." She paused "Mia, won't you miss your long hair? I can't wait to see you guys crying till your eyes become red." She said and sat down.
"Whatever." They mumbled and exited the classroom.
Kendra walked out of the classroom and went straight to Kennedy. She was in the classroom. She decided to check the locker room. Nathan walked up to Kennedy and barged his hand on her locker.
"What again Nathan?" She demurred.
" I don't want anything from a bitch." He said.
"Really? Bitch? Stop calling me a bitch, Nathan. I'm no longer your girlfriend." She yelled. She unlocked and opened the locker as she tried to keep the tape inside it slipped and landed on Nathan's shoe.
"I'm sorry." She apologized and crouched down to pick it up but Nathan had stepped on it.
"Please don't destroy it. It isn't mine." She begged him when he tried to crush it with his shoe. She was furious, she knew nothing would stop him from crushing the tape.
"Really? What if I destroy it now?" He smirked mischievously.
"You won't dare. Please don't."
"Too late baby." He pressed his leg on it very hard that she heard the crack of the tape. She pushed him away and quickly picked it and ran out.
Kendra saw everything. She followed her. She grabbed Kennedy's hand and pulled her back. "You prick. How dare you, Kennedy!"
Kennedy looked at her before she could do anything and a slap landed across her face.
"What?" She widened her eyes in shock. She wasn't sure if it was her imagination but the slap was real when she touched her cheek.
"How dare you lie to me kennedy? I knew you took the tape. Tell me how are you going to repair it? I'm only giving you twenty-four hours to find a way to repair the damaged tape or else I'm gonna kill you, psycho." She pushed Kennedy out of her way with her shoulder and stormed away.
The tape fell down. She bent over to pick it up. She picked everything then headed to the cafeteria. Her cheek was red because of the slap she had received from Kendra. She massaged it as she walked in.
ODETTE HAD TIED her hair and covered it with the scarf. She made her way through the dwindling crowd. Wandering the street during the daylight, she couldn't remember the last time she did that. Perhaps when her father was still alive. He wouldn't let her stay in the mansion for a whole week. All the people that walked past her seemed different to her. No. She was the different one, not the people. She had covered half of her face with facemask. She put her hands in the pockets, looking at the pedestrian as she walked on the pedestrian side of the road.
She wouldn't be wandering around for nothing. She had lost a bracelet her father gave her as a gift on her way to the woods. She walked in a hurry while looking around. Maybe she had lost it in the woods when she went to sing for the strange woman. She had to get the bracelet and return home before Sharon or anyone else did.
When the traffic pointed red, pedestrians were to cross to the next side of the road.
Odette was lost. She was admiring every beautiful thing she came across. It was when the traffic light showed green she made her way to the other side. She was almost hit by a car. The driver was fast enough to halt the car before it could lead to a fatal accident. She had a twisted ankle as she fell on the road.
"Ouch." She groaned. The scarf loosened and long hair was on the floor. Kyle rushed out to her.
"I'm so sorry Miss." Other cars started moving but she never budged an inch from where she was sitting. She wanted to stand up on her own, despite her best efforts not to fall against him. Kyle grabbed her before she lost her balance.
"Hey. Be careful." He assisted her to the other side. He moved his car out of the road and returned to her.
She hadn't uttered anything. The only word in her head was, run! She wanted to disappear or run home.
"I'm sorry. Please forgive my clumsiness." He apologized. He thought it was his fault. Immediately he dropped the call, he had to hurry up to the studio. He wondered what Davis wanted. He didn't wait for any driver since he could drive.
Unanticipatedly, his phone started ringing. He tried to connect it but the phone slipped out of his hand so he couldn't concentrate on the traffic lights. He was distracted and by the time he looked up, the car had hit a lady but he was able to control the wheel.
"I'm sorry." He repeated. He crouched beside her and massaged her ankle in a gentle manner. Her body was cold. He looked at her to see if she was going to respond or not, but she didn't say anything.
"It hurts." She murmured eventually. She held his hand to stop him.
"Let me call for an ambulance."
"No... I'm good." He looked at her. He widened his eyes in shock when he saw something strange. The facemask he had used loosened.
"What?" He gasped. Odette blinked severally. As she did that her eyes kept changing. "Oh my gosh!" Kyle moved away from her frighteningly.
