Chapter 2 THE OUTCOME

Seven years later

"Grandma, I'm back from school. I bought you some goodies".

Hohan, the young kid shouted while running towards grandma with a smile on his face.

"What did you buy for me? my child".Grandma replied with a smile also even though she is too old to smile, she did it for the sake of Hohan's happiness.

"Mum! It's a car toy. I bought you a small car but don't worry when I'm big, I will buy you a bigger one. manage this small car first". Hohan smiled hard and gave grandma the toy.

"Chuckle!. I believe in you , my son. Don't worry I will always be here for you. okay!. How was school today anyway". Grandma asked the young boy if he had a problem with school.

"School is very fine. I'm doing great in school. Everybody loves me, both my teachers and students. I think I'm favorite". Hohan replied

"Mum! I was wondering to ask you this, how come my parents died in a car accident but I didn't die? Where was I when the accident occurred because they taught us in school that an accident isn't something someone survived easily or is it maybe because I'm favorite that why I survive"?. Hohan asked again why laughing at the same time.

"My dear! You and your parents are having a good time at home, then your mum and dad decided to go get us some beverages and medication because you weren't so fine back then. all of a sudden, I didn't hear from them so I had to go look for them when I found out that they were involved in a car accident". Grandma replied with a crying face

Hohan started giving grandma pets just like he pet his dog. Grandma feels relaxed but she doesn't know what to tell Hohan. He is just a kid. What if she tells her now and his education will be hindered or this little kid will just have the zeal to join the armed forces just to take revenge?. I won't tell him. I can't. it's not right. Grandma said to herself

"Mum! don't worry when I grow up I will become a doctor and I won't allow anybody to die again". Hohan consoles grandma with a smile on his face.

Smile..............

Hohan is a kid and I think it best I keep it a secret for him. I know I'm getting old and I will soon leave this Earth someday so how will I tell him what happens? I can't bear it telling him in his face. oh, I have a brilliant idea. I will just do everything on videotape, then when it's time, I will tell him to play d video tap. Grandma said to herself in silence.

"It was a cold Sunday Evening about 5 mins after the Heavy rain that had just hit the surface of the Earth had just gone back to its source. Years after my NYSC service, life has been the way I have thought, my four years old daughter and my beautiful wife were both in the kitchen preparing dinner for the family. My family had been the happiest when I Introduced my wife to them Five years ago after my NYSC program as the lady who will be the Mother of my children ''. Mr. Brook, a tall talented scientist who is old enough to have grandchildren but he didn't finish his education on time and didn't get a wife on time. Having a wife now is the happiest thing that had to happen to him and his family. He works for a sci-fi fountain company and is also one of the brains behind the world-changing inventory but he seems tired of the experiment since he has a family already, nothing again bothered him. But he can't turn back what he has started. If not he will end up like Jeffrey's parents and that is what he wants to avoid. His wife Mrs. Brook is a beautiful young lady so I am also happy to be with her husband but she keeps having this feeling something fell off in the family and keeps telling her husband but everything seems perfect to him.

"Honey it's getting late for work, is the food not ready. I'm hungry and I need to be at work or should I go so you can come to get it for me?". Mr. Brook asked her wife because he is starving and he is avoiding shock from their master shio so he needed to go to work

"Ok fine honey, see you later". Mrs. Brook waves goodbye to her husband as he goes back to the door.

"where is master Shang. oh, he is late again. He always comes home late every time. I have told you guys to always be in the office before me but each time he keeps coming late. I think I should be strict with you guys now. let go to the lab. master Shang will meet us there". Manager shio talked to Mr. Brook and asked the cashier Mr. Felix to tell master Shang that when he comes, he should join them in the office.

The moment manager shio and Mr. Brook head to the lab to do one or two experiments, about fifteen minutes later master Shang walks into the lab

"Where are you coming from," manager shio asked as he grabbed his master Shang's neck with his hand and hit him on the wall making manager Shang shake and didn't say anything.

"The moment you come late again, I swear to myself, I will make you pay". manager shio says again as he releases his hand from his neck.

What a relief as master Shang buttoned his shirt and straightened it up, then headed to the table where the experiment was about to take place. as soon as the experiment is about to take place. Mr. Felix walks in and asks what the experiment is all about and he will love to help but they quickly reject the offer making Mr. Felix curious about what is going on in the lab.

He asked another cashier on the opposite end, Mrs. Julia, what the experiment is about but Mrs. Julia said that no one knows what the experiment is about and the moment you want to know what it is about, you will be removed from this company.

Mrs. Julia is a cashier also in the sci-fi fountain company and she has worked for four years in this company so she barely knows that she knows everything in the company except for what is going on in the lab because she values her job a lot. She is pretty and loves to be alone but something tells me she is fighting a battle that she doesn't want anyone to know about.

The moment Mr. Felix approach Mrs. Julia concerning the lab, she warned him not to get involved in what they are doing that they should focus on what they are here for which is to earn some money but Mr. Felix was just confused and he insisted on knowing what the experiment is all about but he then asked Mrs. Julia that it should be a secret and both of them should work together, that they can't be in a house where there is a lot of money in it that they don't know about but Mrs. Julia refused to work with Mr. Felix but she promised to keep it a secret.

"Hello sir, are we not supposed to go to Japan to collect some different samples? It will work this time," master Shang asked the manager as he tried the same thing he has been trying for ages, and now he taught to try a new one.

"Look at the guild line here, it says that we are doing the right thing but I still don't know why it is not working" manager shio complains as he looks through the manual over and over again because of the experiment.

"Something tells me that they didn't write a formula in the manual and they want us to figure it out ourselves. why don't we find who wrote the manual and then ask him for questioning and if he refuses to tell us, we should threaten to kill him". Mr. Brook said as he sat on the chair close to the table being frustrated with the experiment.

"Oh, yeah. That will be a nice idea and we all forgot about this, what is the name of the man written on the manual again and check his background. He must have written something". manager shio asked as he walks straight to master Shang to collect the manual from him

"Mr. Zuke Kennedy and he's from Japan. wow! same Japan that we go to every time to collect samples. I think we have to go on a trip tomorrow" manager shio said as he pack all the wasted experiment

"Tomorrow? It's too sudden. Why don't we wait for the weekend before we travel to Japan? How will I tell my wife about the trip? can't you be considerate of us? at least give us a time to spend with our wife and besides I was the one that brought the idea of consulting the man so why are you in a hurry". Mr. Brook said as he look sideways

"Are you questioning my request? go get your close early. This experiment has been going on for years and now that we have a smart idea you want to delay it? let us get ready now, now that the idea is still fresh and besides don't ask me any other question, you can call your side right away if you want". manager shio said as he walks out of the door and Mr. Felix came his way

"where were you heading to," manager shio asked

"I'm coming to see you, sir, I wanted to tell you that I won't be around tomorrow and that I would love to go see my aunt because she is sick". Mr. Felix said as he turn his head downwards

"Tomorrow? can't be possible, I'm traveling tomorrow and I need you all to be available in this company. don't worry you, Aunt is fine" manger shio replies

"But sir, it's my aun..." Mr. Felix was about to say that her aunt is sick and he needed to go see her but manager shio didn't let him speak. He walked out on him.

Tomorrow manager shio is traveling, I think it best for me to know what is in the secret lab that everyone is hiding and I pray my aunt gets well. Mr. Felix said to himself when he saw master Shang and Mr. Brook come out of the lab with a sad face and he asked.

"Sir, is anything the problem, why is your face like this? Are you two hungry, I can go get you some food to eat".Mr. Felix asked because of the look on their face

"Don't worry my dear, we are fine just that we will be traveling tomorrow and we have to count on you guys to take care of the company". Master Shang said as he tap Mr. Felix on his shoulder and walks by

"Wait sir, you guys are traveling too and you said you count on us to look after the company. does that mean you guys are not coming back and what is it that you, Mr. Brook, and manager shio has to travel all at once"? Mr. Felix asked as he walked straight to Mr. Brook and told him to wear a smile for the company and forget the sadness.

"Don't worry my son, we will be back in a couple of days. call all the staff for us. tell them to meet us in the conference Hall". Mr. Brook replied as he also tapped his shoulder and left.

Something fishy is going on in this company. Lately, I've been tired of working here but now it's like I'm about to embark on a mission that no one knows about. Mr. Felix said to himself and went to the security room where he used the microphone to communicate with other staff to meet in the conference Hall immediately. Every staff member runs to the conference Hall as soon as possible. no one wants to lose his/her job so they need to be serious.

"welcome hall, my college just told me he asked all of you to meet here as soon as possible and I can see that you all are serious with your job for being here early as I expected," manager shio said as he walks to the lectern and uses the microphone so that everyone would hear him.

"The purpose of this meeting is because my college manager Shang and Mr. Brook will be going for an urgent trip tomorrow morning and we asked for one favor from you. Take food care from the company for us. if you want to talk to anybody. meet my secretary Mrs. Lilian and she will put you through". Manager shio said as he asked the staff if they have any questions and some of them raised their hands but he said he'll only attend to two questions.
