As I opened my eyes slowly, I noticed someone beside me on the bed. I jumped a little, frightened. I looked over to see Seth sleeping peacefully, then sigh. I felt my cheeks heat up when the memory of the night before came rushing back into my mind.
I had sex with Seth.
I had sex with Seth freaking Parker and I was the one who did the initiated it. I lift my hands and face palm myself.
The alcohol and the jazz music got to my head, but it wasn't their fault. I knew exactly what I was doing last night when I told him to kiss me. I knew what I was doing with I took off my bra and my panties. I knew exactly what I was doing when we did it again and again. I even knew what I was doing in the shower.
"Shit!" I muttered.
"I told you that you were going to regret it." I removed my hands from my face and look over at Seth. His dirty blond hair was messy, and his eyes were still close.
I mumbled something random which caused him to open his eyes. His greens looked straight into my brown ones. He looked like an angel, so handsome.
We stared there looking in each other's eyes for a few minutes not saying a thing. Our eye contact suddenly breaks when the alarm clock behind me start making noise. I turn around to lock it off when I noticed the time.
I shot up off the bed. "Is that the real time?" I asked panicking a little reading the clock that said 7:00 am
"Hmm...yea," he said as he scratched his head.
I quickly rolled off the side of the bed, forget I was naked. I look down at my naked self and sigh. That wasn't important at the moment.
"I have to leave." I looked at Seth was looking at my naked body.
Rolling my eyes, I start looking for my underwear on the floor. Spotting my panty close by I quickly bent down and pick up. I hurriedly put it on and then start looking for my bra.
"Instead of looking at my naked body you could help me look for my bra." I looked over at Seth who was just staring at me.
He bent his head to the side and then pointed over at the door. I quickly rushed over and pick it up putting it on.
"Why are you rushing?" his head resting on his hand.
"I have to be in court in less than two hours."
"Ah!" he pushed the cover off his body and stand from the bed looking all glorious. "Okay, I'll bring you home."
"No, I can't wait until you get ready." I can't be late for Mr. Benjamin's case. It was too important.
"Then what are you going to do?" he asked with hands raised.
"I'll walk it, I live five minutes from here. Ten if you walk."
He shakes his head. "I'm not letting you walk home. Especially not in that black dress."
"Then I'll call a taxi." It didn't really matter, what I needed to do now was get the hell way from Seth freaking Parker.
"No," he moved over to me, standing in front of me, still naked. He reached over and cup my face in his hands. "I won't be long. I have to be at work in less than two hours as well. You don't have to start acting all weird on me." He leaned in a place a kiss on my cheek, then scroll out of the bedroom.
Deciding to wait on him, I walked out of the bedroom to the living room where my dress was discarded. I put on my dress. I looked over at the same kitchen and decide I might as well make a little breakfast.
I opened his silver refrigerator and scan its content. For a single man, he sure has a lot of food. He had enough ingredients to choose from so I decided to make an omelette. I took out four eggs, cheese, sausages, onion and stallion. I searched the cupboards until I found a frying pan and the wheat bread.
I was mixing the ingredients in a bowl when I heard a meow. I looked down and saw the yellow cat that had made the noise.
I got excited immediately. This must be butter.
"Hello, butter." Butter comes to my feet and starts rubbing against it.
Since I was barefoot, it was ticklish.
I took up the vegetable oil and pour it into the pot. I moved over the other pot with the tea. I could smell the peppermint aroma lingering in the kitchen.
The cat disappeared again, leaving me a little sad because I was loving its company.
I gently place my combination in the pot the fry.
"What smells so good?"
I turned around to look at Seth. He was wearing a suit, without the jacket, his hair was no longer messy but neatly brushed back. He looked really handsome.
"Since you decide to live in the shower, I decide to make breakfast. We can eat it on our way to my apartment." I turn back to my pot. He moved over to where I was opening one of the cupboards. He took out the bag of cat chow and walked away.
I rolled my eyes and took up the spatula to turn the omelette. When it was almost finished, I sprinkled some cheese on the top. There is nothing better than a cheesy omelette.
I turn off the pots. I turn around and look at Seth who was around the island on his phone. "Do you have any termus that I can put the tea in?"
He lifts his head from his phone. "Yea look at that bottom cupboard." He points.
"Thanks, and what about containers to put the omelette in?"
"Same cupboard."
I finished placing the tea in the termus and the omelette in a dish, then in a little lunch bag. We could share it while he drives me home because I wouldn't have time before my court hearing.
I went over to the sink to start washing but Seth's hand stopped me. I looked up at him, I didn't even hear when he got up.
"Don't. It's almost eight. I don't want you to be late for work. We can leave those. I'll ask the housekeeper to wash up for me."
"Are you sure?" I didn't really like cooking and not washing up after myself. I hate leaving my apartment dirty.
He nods, "Yes, she'll be here soon. Don't worry about it."
He lifts the lunch bag and pulls me out of the kitchen with him.
"Hold my jacket for me, please." He said as he pointed at the jacket that laid on the edge of the sofa.
I took up quickly since he was still pulling me in the direction of the door.
"Don't put on the heels, put on my Nike slippers and just hold the heels in your hands." Doing exactly what he said, I place my tiny feet in his big slippers. It looked weird, but I brushed it off.
I took up a next piece of the omelette and place it in my mouth. It tasted so good. I looked over at Seth whose attention was the traffic ahead. He was holding the termus in his hands and bringing the tea to his head.
I turned and handed me the tea. I took it from him and he took up the dish and placed it in his laps. I watched as he took his first bite. He looked so good. I don't know what wrong with me but there was just something about watching him eat.
When he was finished he used one of the wipes from the glove compartment to wipe his face. He gave one to me and I followed.
"Thanks for the breakfast. It's been a long time since I had a home-cooked breakfast." A thank you was the last thing I was expecting from him, but I smiled.
"You're welcome." I looked ahead to the traffic that started to move. "You do have a lot of cooking products for a single man."
"I like to cook."
"Really, that great." If I had a checklist, A man who can cook would probably be at the top of the list.
"But I barely have time sometimes. I'm still trying to get used to my new job." I nod understanding what he meant. The business world in New York wasn't easy so I can imagine what he was going through.
He pulled over at the entrance of my building. He placed the car in park and turn to me.
"I had a great time last night." He said with a smile, the first one since morning.
I couldn't help but smile back, "I did too."
He leaned over and place his lips on mine. The kiss was soft and sweet. He removed his lips from mine then kiss my cheeks. "I don't wanna keep you, you have less than an hour to get ready." He reached down and release the seatbelt for me.
"Yea, I really have to go." I opened my door and exit.
"I'll text you."
I nod and move away from the car. He didn't drive away until I was inside the building. I found his gesture to be very sweet. Only a gentleman would care if a girl reached in safe.
Seth Parker was so many things a man could be, A Romantic, A gentleman and an excellent lover.
.....
I rushed into the court room, I only have three minutes left before my case would be call up. I spot Mr Benjamin sitting it the defendant area. I quickly walked up to the area and dropped my briefcase.
"I'm so sorry, I'm late. The traffic was terribly this morning." I lied. The traffic was perfectly the same as it always is in New York, I was just too busy getting laid to remember I had an Initial hearing.
"It's okay. I am okay." He assured. "Is he going to be the prosecutor?" Mr Benjamin points behind me, I followed his gaze over the prosecutor side.
My heart missed a beat at the face, I saw.
Nah, I must be hallucinating. Seth Parker is not in the courtroom. Not because you had sex with the guy last night you should start thinking about him.
Stop it Karishma! He is not real.
But he was because when he saw me looking at him, he waved.
I excused myself from beside Mr. Benjamin and walked over to the opposite side of the courtroom. Seth meeting me half way.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I said a little too loud.
"Well, I could ask you the same question, but I put two and two together," he said with his regular smirk.
I frown at him. "What are you talking about? This stalking thing is getting way out-of-hand you need to stop following me, especially following me in court." Like seriously Seth. Why are you so clingy?
He laughs and shakes his head. "I wasn't following you. I am the Prosecutor of the case of the death of Harrison Samuel. I am supposed to be here."
My eyes widen with shock. No, he can't be.
"No, you have to be DA."
"I am a DA honey."
"Don't call me that." Especially in the courtroom. "When did you become DA?"
"When I moved here."
"I thought you were a business man. You didn't tell me you're a lawyer." Probably because I assumed you were a business man like Brandon.
"You didn't ask." He was right, I didn't.
Before I could response we were interrupted by the voice of the court official, "All rise."
"We'll talk afterwards," he said before making it back to his side of the court.
I walked back over my side. I knew my face showed exactly how I was feeling because Mr. Benjamin was giving me a look.
"Don't worry, we'll still win this case," I assured my client.
As I stand erect looking at the judge I asked myself, what did hell did I get myself into?
Seth and I would always be on the opposite team.
Whatever happened last night, cannot happen again.
Never again
