Chapter 5 True crush 2

Ryan sat down on the couch across the television waiting for Stephanie to come down from her room, her mom had called her telling her Ryan was around.

Her parents already knew him because he had come visiting once or twice.

Stephanie jumped out of bed when she heard her Mom. "What is he doing here?" She asked herself as she ran her hands through her hair. She ran to the bathroom to clean her face and dressed properly.

She saw Ryan sitting on the couch uncomfortably when she reached the living room. She went to him. "Ryan" she called his name like she has been longing to see him.

"What are you doing here?" She asked as she sat next to him not waiting for his response.

"Aren't you suppose to be at Patricia's party?" She asked, like she wanted him to be there when she was actually happy he's with her. He turned to look at her, he felt sorry for hurting her.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked seeing that sad expression on his cute face.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked, his expression not changing and the tone he use in asking made Stephanie confused.

"Tell you what?" She asked, still confused. He turned around to see who was approaching them. Sarah dropped the potato chips she made for them and left the both of them alone.

" Stephanie" he called her name softly and turned to look at her again

"Why didn't you tell me you like me?" He asked staring at her as she looks confused and surprised. When did he know all that? Who told him?

"How did you know that?"

"I just..... know, no one told me"

"That's a lie, you were always after Janet, hurting me everyday. You said you couldn't understand me. So how come you find out all of a sudden that I like you?" She asked, knowing he was lying with the way he said it. Watching him as he struggles to say the truth. He finally let it out.

"I find out at the party" he paused and turned to look at her again

"Phil likes you" he paused again to study the expression on her face but he couldn't explain, why was he even telling her that, Phil was the one to express what he felt for her not him. She didn't say anything she just stared into space. Upon hearing him says Phil liked her. Her expression didn't change. She thought, that jerk liking her. That must be a terrible lie, with the way he acted that day makes it hard for her to believe he likes her.

"Phil told me at the party, he told me you will never like him back because you like me" he said and Stephanie took the bowl of potato chips, pick one and chewed it, offering some to Ryan but he didn't pick anyone instead he moved closer to her. He likes telling everything to her because she was his best friend or he just don't know why he always tell her what was on his mind.

"Stephanie, I'm sorry for hurting you" he apologized watching Stephanie as she keeps eating the snack

"Say something"

"What do you want me to say? I'm speechless but I've accepted your apology" she said curving her left leg on the couch and place the bowl of potato chips on the side that formed an angle. Ryan watched her every move. " I don't know how to feel or what to do"

He was still feeling kinda guilty.

"Now that you know, what will you do about it"

"I don't know Stephanie. I just hope it doesn't spoil our friendship" he said and covered his face with his hands while Stephanie planted another chip in her mouth, chewing it, her eyes following him as he turned to face her again, staring at her lips as she chewed the chip, he felt the urge to kiss her.

"It wouldn't" she assured him as he leaned closer to her and she watched him as he came closer, he didn't heard what she said because he wasn't with her anymore, his aim now was to kiss her. Why? He didn't know.

She wanted his lip on hers, she has dreamt about him kissing her and now was it actually going to happen? He moved closer and closer and closer to her and close his eyes to kiss her, she did the same. They both closed their eyes waiting for their lips to touch but something unexpected happened. The sound of the bowl of potato chips hitting the floor. They both gasped before laughing as they bent to pick it up.
