Chapter 4 Guardian Angel

Eury's POV:

"Brother, please buy me a doll? I want snow white." Said the little girl as she clung to her brother's arm.

"Yes, princess I'll buy you that one okay?" A tall strong man answered sweetly.

The siblings walk happily and buy everything their little princess' wish.

But the happy scenario shifted and the beautiful scene before her change into a dark place. The little girl was aimlessly walking with tall and sturdy trees standing tall.

She walked and walked before she felt herself slip and fell into a cliff.

"Ahh!" I shouted in horror as I turned my head.

"Eury, daughter, wake up!" My mama's worried voice resounded as I felt someone tapping my cheeks.

I was gasping and sweating when I woke up, tears gushing out from my eyes continuously.

I looked at Mama and immediately hugged her tightly. Crying because of the horrifying feeling I still felt from my dreams. They felt like they were so true. They were so vivid.

"Eury, calm down.." Mama told me while stroking my hair. "It's just a dream..." She added.

"I-It felt so real Mama ..." I softly told her and took a deep breath.

"Did you take your medicine before you sleep?" She asked softly.

I've been taking a medicine for a year, my mama told me when I first woke up, I was mumbling and screaming words while I was asleep that she didn't understand, that's why I was admitted in the hospital for long. But being in the hospital made me feel like crazy. I kept dreaming and it was keeping me from sleeping. The last thing I dreamed of, were three males who have the same pair of eyes like mine.

"Yes, mama, I did..." I told her, weakly.

I grew up here in Sitio Hermosa but we have already discussed that I am going to Manila. I am going to transfer out. The course that I took up had more access and opportunities in Manila.

They didn't agree right away but because I insisted, I was able to get their permission after a couple of set conditions. Of course I would follow their wishes, because I knew they were only looking after me. Since the operation, they have taken great care of me.

I wanted to find the woman who gave me a second life but I failed in doing so. I was hoping I could visit her grave someday to properly thanked her.

"All right, take a bath. Didn't you say you'll be late for your job?" She finally sighed in relief.

"Yes, mama..." I told her with a sheepish smile, scratching my neck.

She smiled at me.

I went to kissed her cheek first before going in the bathroom.

I work as a waitress in a coffee shop here in Sitio Hermoso and I earned a lot from it, getting a pay of about five thousand per month. That helped me save a lot.

After I took a shower I put on a high waist pants and a white t-shirt that I tucked inside my pants. I tied my hair in high ponytail, put some powder on my face and applied lipgloss.

I grabbed my small bag and went downstairs for breakfast. I kissed the two of them and ate with them and we shared stories and we laughed a lot- the breakfast ended happily.

"Call, when you want to go home..." Dad told me while we were both outside.

"Yes, Papa...." I answered in a polite tone and waved.

I rode a tricycle because I wanted to get used to traveling alone to prepare myself in Manila. I will be alone there and had to stand on my own feet.

I take in a breath of fresh air and watched the people busying outside their house.

"Thank you." I politely said and got off the tricycle.

The driver just smiled.

I walked my way in the coffee shop. When the people inside saw me, they gave me curious stares but I blinked and ignored their gazes.

I went straight to the employees area and put my stuff inside the locker. I took my red uniform and immediately put it on. I also picked up the apron, grooming myself presentable before going out.

"Oh, you're here Eury..." Miss Candy, the owner of the coffee shop, greeted me with a smile.

"Are there many costumers?" I ask her.

"Yes, so go to work and don't tire yourself out..." She smiled before she went back doing her work.

I approached those who have not yet ordered, smiling at them. I saw them blinked in surprise, and I know its because of my eyes.

I wrote down their orders and bow my head in respect to get their orders.

"Wow, mommy her eyes are blue ..." I heard the little girl said.

I took the tray and immediately gave them their order. I smiled at the young girl. She smiled back at me and thanked me, before I left to take care of the other costumers. There are many costumers and you really need to get their order quickly. Miss Candy's coffee shop is famous here because the coffee she makes is really delicious. And there were also complimentary snack and meals, which are equally delicious.

I rested for a while because I felt like dizzy going around in circles to get the customer's order. After finally having enough rest, I took a deep breath and saw the shop's door being pushed to open. I immediately stood up to took care of the newly arrived costumer.

"Hi, good day Sir, may I have your order?" I respectfully approach him.

He stared at me for a long time so I felt awkward with his blunt stare, and I cleared my throat to get his attention.

He blinked and spoke, "Oh, I'm sorry, you just look like one of my friends..." He quickly apologized.

"It's okay Sir..." I told him with a smile. "So, uh ... c-can I have your order now, Sir?" I added.

"Oh..." He said and scratched his neck.

"One expresso and a cinnamon roll please." He smiled.

He has these soft features, his hair is in bun because it is quite long. He have this thick eyebrow and thick eyelashes. He have a perfect stubborn jaw and his eyes are jet black. He is handsome so I would not be surprised if all women are obsessed with him.

"Table 2." I said and handed the paper to the front.

I looked at table two and blinked because he was looking at me. Weird. I just looked at Scott, my fellow worker, and thanked him after I picked up the tray. I walked over and gently placed his order and he immediately thanked me but he asked something so I had to stopped.

"Uh... Sorry, can I asked for your name?" He said in a manly voice.

I stilled.

"Oh, uh... I'm Vienne." I answered, a bit anxious.

"Oh, what a nice name." He nodded and smiled at me.

"I'm Sebastian and nice to meet you .." He turned to introduce himself..

"It's nice to meet you Sir .." I politely said and bowed before leaving.

Different customers come and go and I enjoyed getting and serving their orders for them. It was tiring but I enjoyed it so much and I am having fun. I was at the end of my shift and I have served the last order to a customer before I was done and ready to go. It was already dark outside but I ordered a cup of coffee too while resting for a while. When the time was right to go home, I send a text to my driver to asked him to pick me up.

To: Uncle Berting

Uncle Berting, please pick me up at the Coffee shop. I'll be waiting for you outside.

When Uncle Berting came, I immediately bid a goodbye to Miss Candy. She thanked me so I just smiled at her and went straight to our van smiling at Mang Berting before going inside.

When I get home, I should do my assignments and the ones I haven't finished yet.

We parked our van and I thanked Uncle while he nodded and smile in response.

I took a deep breath, grabbing my bag, going inside the house and saw mama talking to someone, I announce my arrival kissing my mother's cheek and my father's cheek.

I looked at the two men Dad was talking to so they looked at me and stared at me for a long time.

"Arturo, this is my daughter Eury Vienne Gomez..." Papa introduced me to them.

"Eury, this is Mayor Arturo and Clint, his assistant..." Papa said and gestured his hand forward.

"Good evening..." I politely greeted the both of them.

"What a beautiful child Ariel..."

The mayor smiled and looked at me from head to toe.

I blinked because I felt nervous when he looked at me.

When I couldn't stand it, I said goodbye to them and went upstairs. I tried to looked at them and caught his sticky gaze on me so I avoided his look and went straight to my room.

"Why would he look at me like that?" I whispered and went straight to my little table. "It's creepy ..." I added.

I chose to ignored it and started doing my assignments.

Sometimes I wonder where my parents are? Are they looking for me? Or did they forgot about me? I can't get- the three men in my dream, with blue eyes like me- out from my mind.

I paused and massage my temples, my head is hurting again so I took a deep breath and chose to focus what's in front of me, and forget those memories.

If I insist on remembering, I will be taken to the hospital again and I will be a burden to them. So instead of thinking about my past which I know will be a futile attempt, I will choose to be normal.

I combed my hair and just read of my chosen course. I really want to be a policewoman and I wanted to see myself wearing a police uniform catching criminals and lawless people in the society.

Caressing my heart that was beating against my chest, I felt an overwhelming feeling of meeting the person who gave me the chance to live.

"My angel ..." I whispered as I caressed my chest where my heart was.
