Anne watched her nanny as she moved to and fro the kitchen trying to prepare something for her to eat. After her father died this woman is the only persom who has ever cared for her like a father and a mother, her so called mother dosen't give two cents about her. She always likes listening to her nanny but suprisingly all her nanny always tells her is 'always listen to your mothers instruction, she knows whats best for you'.
She came out of her thoughts when a plate of mashed potatoes and sauce was placed before her. She gave her nanny a wide smile and she began eating her food.
In no time she was already through.
"So tell me my sweet child what did you discuss with your mother?".
Nanny Bee asked her.
"Well, do you remember that boy, Micheal O'neil i was in love with eight years ago before i was forcefully transported to london"?.
Anne asked with a squeezed brows.
"I think i do, the one your mother caught you with under the apple tree in the Georgia garden"?
Nanny Bee replied.
"Yes Nanny Bee, that one".
"So what about him?".
"Well, he got married 6 years ago and his marriage isn't that rosy so his mother wants me to help her set her him free". Anne concluded.
Nanny Bee gave her a confused look. Anne saw that her Nanny was confused so she decided to clear her on it.
"Nanny Bee, i recieved a call from his mother and she told me about how her daughter-in-law is making life a living hell for her son. According to her, the daughter-in-law never appreciates anything her son does for her and the kids. She then asked if i was still in love with her son to which i responded 'yes'.
Anne explained expressly.
"So she wants you to help destroy her son's marriage?, how did she even get your contact?, are you sure you're still in love with him?.
Nanny Bee was getting really impatient because she was still confused.
"Nanny one question at a time. Okay, i'm not destroying anybody's marriage besides their marriage is already at the verge of ending so i'm just gonna help the both of them out.
Second question: We've always spoken to each other Nanny: me, his mom and younger sister. He introduced me to them already and they approved of me since day one. If not for mother, we'd be married by now.
Third questions: I've been in many relationships in the past and have had many flings but none of them ever felt real. But the day we bumped into each other at the airport, though he didn't recognise me but right there i knew that my heart still beats for Micheal. I'll have him Nanny just a matter if time.
The next morning.
April woke up very early to prepare her kids for their grandmothers place.
April had already packed their things immediately they got back from the pack the previous day. At 9am, they were alreday through with al necessary preparations and were having breakfast when James spoke up.
"Mommy do we really have to go to that womans place, can't we just go over to aunt's Victoria place or even book a hotel"?.
"No, James we cannot. Your father wants us to spend time with your grandma, he wants us to bond".
April explained to the little boy.
"We all know that'll never happen, you may think me and James are still too young to understand anything but you're wrong" .
Jamie said directly to her mother and faced her food.
April was a little shocked but didn't let it show on her face.
"Yes mom, Jamie is absolutely correct. We know and see all that woman does and is still doing to you. Daddy is too blind to see it that is why he thinks of us as the one's causing the problem".
James said again.
"I have a really bad feeling about all this mom, a huge tornado is about to hit our family, i just pray it dosen't cause much havocI have a really bad feeling about all this mom, a huge tornado is about to hit our family, i just pray it dosen't cause much havoc".
This time it was Jamie speaking.
"That's enough kids, time to go. Pack all your stuffs into the car".
The kids obeyed their mother and did exactly as she asked. As April drove out of the estate she pondered on the discussion she had with the kids this morning, she tried to shrug it off but it kept bugging her. The one that baffled her most was what Jamie said; 'I have a really bad feeling about all this mom, a huge tornado is about to hit our family, i just pray it dosen't cause much havoc'.
They made a first stop at her aunts. The house where her aunty lived wasn't really fancy but 'twas really comfortable. Her aunt Victoria welcomed them and treated them like she hadn't seen them in ages.
"Aunt Vicky, i have something very important to discuss with you". April started the conversation as her aunt offered her a seat.
"What exactly is the matter dear, talk to me". Aunty Victoria probed.
"You know very well that i grew up in an orphanage home, i suffered there and until God used you to bring me out from that horrible place at age 19. I have no one else to talk to except you".
"April, you're making me really scared, what exactly is the problem"?.
Aunt Victoria asked with shaky voice.
April explained everything to her aunt Victoria right from when they got married to when Michael got his new job and to the dinner they had the other night before his trip to london.
After listening to April's side of the story, she gave her reply.
"April, marriage as we call it can be very rosy but isn't a bed of roses. There is no marriage without its own up and down. I need you to take things easy with him, he is really trying his best as a husband and you need to appreciate him more. Don't get me wrong, i'm not siding him neither am i siding you because in my own view the both of you are wrong. Since he already promised that this is going to be his last trip i don't think you should be worried anymore.
While April and Aunt Victoria spoke about random things, April phone rang. She brought it out from her bag and looked at the caller.
"Hey Marie, how are you today?, you want us to meet up today?, Georgia park, ok i'll be there in two hours time". Immediately April dropped the phone, she stood up from the chair ready to go.
"Who called you"?. Aunt Victoria inquired.
"My friend from way back in college. We were soo close we used to tell each other everything. Her mother forced her to travel abroad; not sure the exact country but now she's back and we are back togethere again".
April explained happily.
"I see you are very excited upon your reunion with her but i need you to be very careful, know who and who not to trust, your best friend today might become your worse enemy tomorrow".
Aunt Victoria warned.
" Aye captain". April responded with a hint of sacarsm in her voice. Okay kids it's time to go".
April and her kids arrived in front of the O'neil's family house where Micheal's mother and younger sister lived in. She drove in and found a good parking spot. Immediately She and the kids came down from the car, she signaled a maid to get their things from the boot and take it in. As the maid proceeded to the boot, a voice stopped her.
"If you touch anything in that car, be prepared to loose your job, and i 'Regina' will make sure that you don't get any job in the whole of Georgia".
Regina, Micheal's sister spoke from the second story of the huge mansion.
"Here's the witch".
Jamie muttered to James and he chuckled.
In a few moments, Regina was already on the ground floor. She cam outside the mansion and walked straight to where April and her kids stood.
"Welcome sister-in-law".
Regina greeted giving her a mockery bow.
April just looked at her without giving any response.
"Won't you say anything huh?" .
Regina paused and looked around like she was looking for something until her eyes landed on the twins. She scoffed and looked at them scornfully. The twins also scoffed and looked at her scornfully.
This got Regina really angry but she kept her cool and faced April.
"Where is your darling husband Mrs. O'neil?. Oh, my brain be playing tricks on me, he has traveled again leaving you to care for your little bastsrds.
Regina laughed out loud like someone insane.
"That's enough Regina, you don't want our dear daughter-in-law reporting us to her husband do you?".
Mrs. Rose said from behind Regina.
"Dinner is ready Madame". An elderly woman said to Mrs. Rose.
Mrs Rose turned around heading into the house while the rest followed her.
Anne sat down on a stool which stood very close to her window, just by looking at her, one would know sh was lost in thought.
She thought about all the wonderful moments she and Micheal had in their youth.
"We are going to get back together Michael, time is all we need.
She picked up her phone and dialed a number.
At the dinning everyone sat down having dinner quietly.
"So, April how are you coping without my son around"?.
Mrs Rose asked with an uninterested tone.
"I'm coping quite well mom". April answered.
"Haven't i told you never to call me mom, you don't have a mother, you were rescued from that dirt orphange by that equally dirty woman; Victoria".
Mrs Rose fired at her.
"Don't call her dirty". Jamie corrected.
"Yes, don't call her dirty, she's our grandma".
James said supporting Jamie.
"Well, i expect nothing less from you mannerless brats, your mother has refused to train you well. I would have loved to do that but time is no longer on my side".
Mrs Rose fired at the kids again, this time trying hard to keep her cool.
"Oh great news, you're dying soon"?".
Jamie asked with excitment very much visible in her voice.
"Jamie stop that, i'm so sorry mo..., i mean Mrs Rose'.
April cautioned Jamie and apologised to her Mother-in-law.
Mrs Rose was about to reply when her phone rang out loud interrupting her in the process. April sat close to her so she peeped into the screen of the phone.
"Mind your business and stop being pocky".
Mrs Rose Growled at her before exiting the dinning to recieve the call.
"What a great way to ruin dinner time". Regina also remarked and walked out leaving April and the kids all alone.
April didn't even pay attention to what Regina said, her mind was on the number she saw on her mother-in-law's phone. The number was saved with the name Anne but she is so sure that she had seen that number somewhere.
"Why does that number look very familiar, i'm sure i've see it somewhere. But where"?.
