This guy... why did she have this weird feeling around him? Deciding to ignore them, she walked past, but the minute their eyes met, Nicholas threw her a wink which of course, she ignored, walking into the office.
"Good morning, Ma'am." She greeted the woman in her fifties deciding not to fake a smile.
"Hello, Aurelia. Do have a seat."
She took a seat obediently, waiting for the elderly woman who kept writing on a paper on her desk. Bored, Aurelia decided to feed her eyes, looking around the office while awaiting her sentence.
"You are a lucky chap, I must say." The woman finally spoke up, "Bella's parents have decided not to push forth this case."
Aurelia's brows creased, "How?" This looked quite suspicious, especially with the way Bella had threatened her in class just some hours ago.
The woman shrugged, "I don't know. But whatever it is, I think the person you owe a 'thank you' is the new kid. He managed to talk both of them out of it."
Aurelia opened her mouth but no words came out. Nicholas? How did this guy manage to... managing a smile, she thanked the woman and left after a repeated warning never to involve herself in a fight again. Stepping out of the principal's office, she looked towards the direction she had seen Bella's parents walk to with Nicholas. She only wanted to know who the guy was and why he seemed to be helping her.
"Looking for me?" his deep, rich baritone voice sounded right next to her.
Aurelia frowned. Was this guy a magician or something? Definitely not a magician. Those people don't exist. Just some people by the roadside, doing petty tricks for money. Maybe, he was a mind reader; or better still, a stalker. She hated people who stalked other people. Walking away without bothering to spare him a glance, he quickly stopped her with his arms.
"That doesn't look like a 'thank you' or didn't the principal tell you you weren't suspended from school because of me?" He said with a big grin.
Aurelia threw him a glare. What a narcissist!
Ignoring him still, she carefully evaded his arms and walked out on him but the guy didn't frown or go mad, instead, a smile played on his lips. A naughty smile. Aurelia returned to the class to meet a sulking Bella. She had caught sight of her with her parents and guessed she must have heard the news. The girl kept staring daggers at her but it wasn't like she cared anyway. Walking to her seat, she sat down quietly, hoping to finish the rest of the day without any more drama when suddenly, she saw the person sitting next to her stand up. At first, she didn't read much meaning to it but a few minutes later when he was replaced with the new narcissist guy, did Aurelia understand what had happened. the rest of the day hadn't gone out well, all thanks to Mr. Stalker who seized every opportunity he had to taunt her. The minute the school bell rang, Aurelia gathered her things quickly in a bid to rush out as soon as she could but she wasn't so fast.
"For a girl, I think you are too conceited." He insulted.
Aurelia could feel her anger on the rise. She didn't want this to happen again. Somehow, she could feel the myriad of emotions at the bottom of her belly. Getting angry now would only give it a chance to overwhelm her again.
She pinched the space between her brows, becoming frustrated, "What do you want?"
Instead of replying, Nicholas clapped and exclaimed. "Finally, she spoke! So tell me, how was it? It wasn't so bad, was it?"
Aurelia sighed. This was a bad idea. A total freaking bad idea.
Throwing him a glare, she made to walk away, and quickly, his arms stopped her again.
"Fine, how about lunch for a thank you?"
She looked at him for some time and just when he thought she was finally going to say yes, she pushed his arm off and walked away, leaving him speechless.
Such a stubborn girl
