Chapter 5 About the Dream

Zoltark had gone to the entrance to the complex after noticing more conversations. He returned with another of his kind.

-Kae, Caleb came from Sayra's bridge village, she has another person with her, one who also came from the forests, she also doesn't remember much, but she's looking for someone called Saphyre. Her name is Ambhar

- Ambhar, yes, my sister. - looked at Kaeidh, her eyes filled with tears - I remember that. - Kaeidh held her hands. - I'm remembering her. Gods! - Hugged him.

– Where is she Caleb? – asked Kaeidh

"She's with Sayra, she's safe," Caleb said. - Could you prepare everything for her to come here or would you prefer that I take her to the palace?

– You decide Saphyre. - Kae said calling her by name for the first time. – We have to find her, and we have to go to the city of Nárë, the land of dragons, so that you can learn to control her power. Or, we can go straight to Nárë and send her and Caleb there. It will take us a day even with the carriage to reach Sayra and two days to fly to Nárë.

"Then in two days I'll see my sister." Kaeidh spoke to Caleb and Zoltark stating that they should take Saphyre's sister to Dragon City and went back to talking to Cadmy about the dream. She said the dream ended right then and there, and they spoke of the Tentri attack.

– They dug under the base at the end of the bridge, my roots held most of it but attacked below them too, deep, all the way to the end. I literally lost the ground - she said, disconsolate for having been attacked and injured in this way.

- Yes Kae, the soldiers on duty, had to extend the magic for a large part in front of the bridge. But even wounded, Cadmy remained strong, there were no entrances and no infected. And we have already extended care to other bridges, most of them have already been inspected and we are going to monitor the entire extent of protection. Just in case. – Kae looked at him and thanked him.

– Thank you great friend. We are all indebted to you all – she said looking at each one – of the guard and of the magic. We owe you our lives and the safety of our cities. – She stood up – Thank you very much. I have no words to thank.

"We do it for everyone and for us too, our families and friends," said Zoltark.

We said goodbye to everyone and headed towards the stairs, the landing point. From there we went to the city of dragons! We climbed into the carriage, Kaeidh giving me her hand to lean on. We sat down and the carriage went up, while Kaeidh gave some commands, she was only going up in a straight line vertically. Up, up, up.

Then the top of the carriage slowly closed and we were protected in a kind of crystal bubble and we climbed higher and higher.

When it stopped and we saw the plains and mountains, verdant and flowery valleys everywhere you looked, streams of small rivers, lakes, streams and waterfalls, very tall trees and their trunks were very wide, so tall and so wide that we saw from up as if we were close to them. I was amazed at their size and he explained to me that they were ancient trees, many of them really alive, some so old that they had even learned to sing songs they had heard from some villager or traveler who had sung by and memorized them. He said he would show me and explain everything I saw during the trip.

We flew most of the time with him explaining the directions and where each one led, including roads. He explained to me about one of the mountains we saw, it shone and he said they were diamonds that were being made and as time passed and with the natural earthquakes they would come out on their own and end up being exposed. He showed the animals running free and calm, all of different species coexisting. I thought it was great and after the day started to end I leaned back against the comfortable backrest, next to him, who pulled a seat extension under our legs, said that if I wanted I could sleep. I thought I wouldn't make it and I continued talking to him, leaning closer and falling asleep.

After some noise and rattling I woke up in Kaeidh's arms.

I got up quickly, embarrassed.

– Sorry, I slept on top of you!

- There is no need to apologize, I would make a good pillow - he joked. - And since you slipped here, I just supported you so you wouldn't fall.

- Thanks! – I looked around – Where are we?

– We stopped at my house in Paramar, tomorrow we continue the journey and at night we will arrive in Nárë. For now, we go in and enjoy our stay at this beach. If you want, we can come another day and stay a week. – He helped her down and showed her the landscape. The sun was dying at the end of the horizon and it was impossible to see where the waters were coming from. It was huge and the strip of sand was blue and beige. She was intrigued by the color and he explained that they were chunks of blue stones and minerals, such as Sapphire.

– Saphyre, as her name tarine. I hope you enjoy the place. It's one of my favorite places. Come on, we have a meal and a place to refresh and relax. – They went down a side staircase of the house, decorated with blue stones, of various shades. The house was made of the same colored sand as the beach, making it something of a continuation of the place, as if it had carved out the hardened sand and made a house inside. There were rounded windows and doors with small and large arabesques made from the larger stones around them.

- Your house is charming Kaeidh, I'm in love with the place. And this smell of sea and flowers is divine. – She told him.

-I'm glad you liked tarine. If you want, we can return for another opportunity to enjoy the sea. The water is cold but at times it is warm and many animals come to the bay to have their young. We are at the time when it is heated. It is very pleasant to the touch. We'll go there later, would you like it?

- Yes! I would love to - she said smiling and once again Kaeidh was in love with her smile. They entered a room with large pillows arranged in a circle around a round fireplace. On one side, in the corner of the room, in an open place, there was a shady tree that came out of the ground and rose to the top, passing through the roof of the house, around it a small pond with plump-looking beings with tentacles on the sides from their heads they played releasing air bubbles into the water. One released it with his mouth and the other caught swallowed and released another.

– Oh what pretty things, what are they?

– They are axonites, a kind of aquatic lizard, they appeared in a freshwater lake nearby, one that is part of this one through an underground tunnel, and they spontaneously came to live here from there. They go out to eat, I think, whenever we put something, and I've put many types of food, for them to eat, they don't eat, then they disappear for a time during the day and then come back.

– They are precious.

– You must be tired, come, here is fruit – he showed some fruit trees after the lake in a wide hallway – and over here, he pointed to a door next to another at the end of the hall – is your room. You can come in and make yourself comfortable. It's my sister's room, there are her clothes there, you can wear whatever you like. Relax, bathe, rest, do what you want and after, if you want, I'm next door, I'll do the same, let me know if you go to sleep or call when you're finished if you're awake and want to talk.

- Thanks. We already talked then. - She said and entered the room while she heard him open and close the door of the room next door. She took a bath in the same bathtub as the one in the room she had stayed in at the castle, behind a curved wall. She washed her hair and dried it with a towel. He entered a room with clothes arranged in all four corners with comfortable shoes and sandals. She thought about putting a bikini under the white dress she'd put on, but didn't know if Kaeidh would want to go in the water with her, since only she had slept during the trip. She put on just her dress and simple panties, sandals and left. She sat on the edge of the lake with a fruit she picked up in the hallway and ate as she watched the axonites swim placidly. She was laughing at a little jump one of them took when the other nipped the small tentacle of his head with his mouth as Kae entered.

- One of the things I love about you is when you smile, but hearing your laugh is even better. What made you laugh like that? - She turned to him who was magnificent with wet hair, a sleeveless shirt and short pants exposing his strong legs, with slippers on his feet, and told what happened. He laughed too and commented.

– They are really playful. Whenever my nephew comes, he spends hours trying to figure out what they do and where they go when they're not here. – She took your hand – let's see what we have in the kitchen?

- Yes let's go! – I followed him

– You know, I understand your nephew, I also like to unravel mysteries. I think I like to try to figure out what is going to happen or at least imagine what it would be like, then I take the next step just to trigger the events. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that I don't have memories, at least not many, just the ones triggered by events. But, I chose this week, to let it happen, without too much suspicion, without getting stressed or irritated for not remembering things as it happened in the beginning, when I woke up. I cried and raged at myself for not remembering and then went to sleep exhausted. During the day I was distracted with parchments, stones, people and at night I suffered. I won't do this anymore.

- I did not know that. He could have told us, me or my sister, that he was like this. We would have helped you - Kae said and hugged her - Sit down and let's see what we have here. He pulled up a tall stool for her to sit on and lowered it to her eyes, lifted her chin.

– Saphyre, I want you to know that you can count on me for everything, even if it's just for crying. He understands?

– Yes Kae, thank you. He kissed her lips and walked away opening cupboard doors.

- We are provided, because I had already warned that I would arrive anytime this week. My aunt Élene, my father's sister, lives five minutes from here and comes to supply when I ask. We have breads, cookies, assorted jams, sweets and spreads, what would you like? – She said and opened a compartment on the floor, filled with water with lots of ice cubes – Oh, you're going to like this a lot, it's a family recipe – she took three large jars of food. – It's salty, I'll heat it up for you.

– I'll help, what do you need?

– We have pans up there, can you get three, please?

- Of course - she took the pots that were there and took them to him, he opened the pots and dumped the contents into the pots, separated and took to the fire that ignited quickly. Soon everything was sizzling and the scent of the food was mouth-watering it was so perfect. He opened another cabinet and took out plates, glasses and silverware.

– Would you like a different drink? We have alcoholic fruit juices. - said Kae

- I would like to try. – They helped themselves and Kae got a bottle of a red drink that was bubbly. She put them in the glasses and sat down. A soft, sweet breeze blew outside, and they ate and talked and Saphyre told of the lonely, unsafe nights she'd spent and Kae told of when her parents died and the death of her fiancée, something he'd never talked about before.

– Are you willing? Are we going for a walk on the beach? - She nodded thoughtfully and went out to the beach, down the patio stairs, Kae took off her slippers, so did she and stepped barefoot on the soft sand. They walked hand in hand for a while feeling the sea breeze, she caught in thought and he looking at every detail of her perfect profile.

- What is thinking? - Kae asked, plunging her feet into the heated water.

- Thinking about your betrothed, did not imagine there was one.

– Yes, there was, but we didn't know each other, when I saw her for the first time she was already very sick and didn't even see me in person or talk to me. – He paused for a moment – A village suffered a tentri attack, we were called to help fight them and that's why we built the bridges and the protective wall. Because of their attacks, thousands died without finding a cure, she was scratched and bitten, we arrived at the village and she was already in a coma. I didn't even get to meet her. We have something called âme sœur. My species doesn't fall in love and doesn't have loving feelings lightly, I don't know how to explain it, but we don't have sexual adventures with just anyone, understand? It's something exclusive, I don't know how to put it in a way you can understand... We just love our âme sœur, no other person makes us feel like our "soulmate" so to speak, we are asleep until we find the âme sœur and when we look at each other, it's done.
