"Aurora." She heard a voice in her room. Charlotte must have entered her room, looking for her.
She stepped out when she was done in the bathroom . She dried her wet hair and walked over the bed. She clasped the adhesive bra and put on a deep V top. She went for a black skinny jean.
She didn't really had to apply makeover, she looked perfect. She grabbed her bag and stalked out of the room after getting her car key on the bed.
"Charlotte, I was in the bathroom when you came in. How may I help you this time?" She walked over to stare blindly at the flat-screen on, displaying. She took the remote control and turned it off. She took the coffee mug on the table and took a sip. She hadn't heard Charlotte's voice ever since she stepped out to the sitting room.
She reminded herself that she might be feeding her rabbits. She sat back on the couch still holding the mug. She used her magic to control the mug. it hung and wagged in the air. She brushed a tip of her fingers on it.
Behind her there were footsteps approaching. She didn't bother to look back since she knew the person was Charlotte. Unfortunately it was the person she had longed for.
"Aurora Hammond." The mug fell down and it shattered on the floor when she removed her gaze. She turned her head abruptly. At the moment she didn't care about how much he missed him but did he see what she just did? What would he said about her?
Luckily, Kevin didn't see that. His mind was distracted. He was trying to come up with an apology speech.
"Kevin..." Her voice came out in whisper. She stared at him, looking hopelessly and devastated. She pinched herself to be sure it was never one of her dream. She had to resist the urge of crying when he halted in front of her.
A whole month, a whole fucking month. She wanted to hit me and yell at his face but she could only stare at him intently.
"Have you been doing well, sweetheart?" He asked calmly. Eyes locked emotionally.
"Damn you Kevin. " That was the only thing she could utter. "I hate you." He was holding a bouquet in a hand. He took her right hand and smile.
"You can hit me if that will make you feel better. I'm sorry for not picking your call for the past four days, the business trip distressed my mind and I couldn't concentrate for days. You know I went for the trip instead of my boss who is currently indisposed. It's not my fault. I'm sorry."
Even if she was mad at him. A part of her wanted to jump on him and kissing him over. "I was scarified by the thought you're going to leave me for another woman because I was never a good girlfriend." He put his hand on her face.
"Of course not. You've always be the best lover ever. You should erase the thought from your head." He used a tip of his finger to push her forehead gently.
"I really want to kill you right now." She said and hit him on the chest playfully. "Are those flowers for me?" She pointed at the bouquet he was holding.
"Yeah." She collected it and smelled it. "I'm going to take you out for dinner. I will drop you off at work and come pick you up at night. So we can have more for ourselves. " He winked at her seductively and gnawed his lower lip lusciously.
"Pervert." She hit him and grinned.
"Aurora, did you see the mug I keep on the table for you? I know you don't like bread so I reserve the chocolate cake for you in the refrigerator. " Charlotte said from outside. she caressed her rabbits before walking inside. It was even better she stopped halfway to the sitting room. Seeing Kevin and Aurora, she didn't want to disturb them. She made her way to the kitchen.
"So are you set for work?"
"Yeah I am."
"And one more thing, you look wonderful today."
"Thank you." She returned the car key back to her bag since Kevin was going to drive her to the hospital. There was no need for the car. He opened the car door for her. She smiled at him as she hopped in. He also joined her in the car and drove to the hospital.
"You haven't told me how the trip went. Were you able to make it up with your boss expectations?"
"Yeah, he was impressed that I won the clients over."
"I'm glad to hear that. So what's your schedules for today?"
"Nothing much."
"Any free time?" She fluttered her lashes at him.
"Chill Aurora. I'll pick you at hospital. Don't worry." She sighed, giving up as she looked out through the car window.
He glanced at her before fixing her gaze on the road.
Awkward silence took on and none of them was ready to start a conversation, including Aurora.
The car pulled to a halt in front of the hospital. She took her bag and opened the car door before he could step out. "Have a pleasant day, Kevin." She mumbled.
"You too. I love you."
"Um... I love you, too." She walked into the hospital. Went to the changing room, she changed into their surgery outfit. She ribboned her hair and stepped out.
"Dr. Aurora. " Doctor Harry called her.
"Good call Doctor Harry. Now that you're here you should get prepared for the surgery in the next two hours."
"Dora doesn't want the surgery. She prefers treatment. In fact other doctors have tried to convince her but she never listened. Her doctor has to let her be when she threatens her mom that she is going to kill herself."
"Not everyone. We are going to perform the surgery because that's what her parent want. Get ready."
"Allow me to speak to her mom."
"You don't have to. We've discussed about the surgery yesterday." Dr. Harry realized that no matter how hard he tried Aurora would never surrendered. To be told, her doctor had assigned her to Aurora because she noticed her to be confident and secretly powerful when convincing patients.
"All right." She nodded. She strolled toward the ward. She opened the door and walked. Dora rolled her eyes when she saw her and hissed loudly.
Aurora ignored what she did, she walked up to her and stuffed her hands into her pockets. "Hey."
"I don't want any surgery." She snapped.
"Can you tell me why?" She inquired.
"Because I want to die. I don't want to live anymore."
"I just figure out. Something is bothering you and you don't want to tell anyone. Not even your mother?" She huffed.
"It none of your flaming business. You doctors should go to hell." Aurora laughed sarcastically.
"Really? But a lot of people will die if that happens. Dora, I'm not here as a doctor. I'm here as a friend. No matter what the situation could be you shouldn't be selfish. If you die or kill yourself what would become your parent's fate. Not everyone is lucky to have the kind of parent you have. They want you to be healthy and fine."
Dora hit her hands on the bed. "No. No, there are terrible. They are horrible." She cried. "They never listen to me. They don't even care about me at all."
Aurora felt bad because she was feeling the same way. She knew how awful the feeling was. And apparently she knew a way to convince her.
"Have you try to talk to them about their faults?"
"I want to get a transfer from my school. My classmates have been bullying me over three years. I told my mother but she had never done anything it."
"So what do you want now?"
"A transfer and I need them to apologize for all they did. If they don't I won't forgive them."
"So what you're insinuating now is you want the surgery if they do that? "
"I never said that. I don't want any surgery but I promise you that I won't skip my treatments. "
She stared at her for a moment. "All right. If you want the transfer badly then you have two options." Dora looked at her in dismay.
"Are you here to threaten me Dr. Aurora?"
"Huh? Of course not. I'm trying to make... Um. What should I call it?" She hesitated as she ran her hand on her hair. "A deal. Yes, a deal. You want you the surgery and I will become your friend forever and I will make sure your parent do whatever you want. Two, you don't want the surgery then you should forget about me telling your parent about the transfer."
"Really? Seriously? Are you really a doctor or manipulator?"
"I guess I just got another compliment from a patient." Aurora uttered and gave a shrug.
"I don't want your damn help."
"I have nothing to lose but you do." She said and turned around. She had taken a pace when Dora spoke up.
"You will surely pay for this." Aurora looked back, shot her a smirk. She had given in and that was what she wanted to hear from her.
"They will prepare you for the surgery. I need to talk to your parent as I promised."
She rolled at eyes at her insolently and faced the other side. Aurora walked out of the ward.
"Yes I did." She did a little dance and when she saw nurses coming she composed herself quickly. She headed to the receptionist in search for her parent. She glanced around the crowd until her eyes caught in a pair of blue eyes with brisk of black. She couldn't remove her gaze or could he? They both stared at each other intently.
Each step he took toward her sank her heart, making it beating than usual. What was happening to her; She thought.
