She cocked her head in a funny way, "Yeah, you were and it was creepy."
I rolled my eyes at her, "Whatever."
I grabbed my bag and walked out of my room, we said goodbye to Mrs. Stanley.
"So... you aren't going to tell me what happened after practice?."
"Well, I got into the swimming team."
"Oh my gosh." She pulled me into a tight bear hug.
"I can't breathe...." I managed to say.
She let go, "Wait, that didn't seem to be the only thing that happened yesterday..."
I looked away and walked towards the direction of the car.
"Issy....."
"Okay, I saw Kyle again after practice and we had a little chat..."
"And?."
"He offered me a ride home."
"Did you accept?."
"Yeah, I did, it was his motorbike and I had to hold him tight.... gosh..cologne."
A creepy smile of achievement appeared on her face, "So, you got a ride home from the school's hottest guy!."
"Badboy.... not only hot."
"I'm so happy for you but just so you know, Kaylee is definitely going to kill you when she finds out."
"I think she already knows by now and if she hasn't, Stephanie is definitely going to tell."
"Wow, you sure have alot of girls that hate you."
"As if I care about their little anger they have for me."
"Let's forget about them, so, what does this mean for you and Kyle?."
I shrugged, "I don't know, it's up to him, if he's smart enough to know that I like him then good for us, I'm not going to throw myself at him like other girls, for now, we are just friends."
She burst into laughter, "Friends?, I'm not sure."
"That's your uncertainty, not mine." I smiled at her before getting into the car.
"Well, atleast, your crush has finally noticed you, that's a good thing, I'm not sure you can't wait to see him." She teased.
"Carly, he has a girlfriend...."
"Forbidden romance isn't a bad thing."
"It's not forbidden romance, I'm not a werewolf or vampire that's in love with a human."
"Well, he's hot as a human, just imagine, if he was a werewolf."
I bit my lips, " You have been reading too many werewolf books."
"Coming from someone that's a paranormal and fantasy freak." She commented as she ignited the engine.
I started getting anxious as we drove into school premises, my first class was Chemistry and he was definitely going to be there.
The bell rang for first period, I hurried to the chemistry lab after putting on my lab coat.
"See ya." I waved Carly goodbye as she walked to her History class.
Everybody was busy chatting when I walked into the lab, I sat down quietly, trying so hard to resist searching for him, I didn't want to appear desperate but I did eventually.
He was sitting with his friends and Kaylee had her hands all over me.
The moment she sighted me, she became even more touchy, he noticed and stopped her.
I thought maybe we would have an eye contact and maybe smile at me or do something but he looked away.
His side profile was something else....
No wonder Kaylee doesn't want to loose him.
Who would have a guy like that and let him slip out except he wants to leave of course and there's nothing you can do about it.
I sighed and stared at the white board filled with chemical equations.
Probably from Sophomores last class.
Mr. Williams got in and we started our practical, even though, I didn't concentrate much, it was my group members did most work, I just assisted.
The rest of the day was rather slow and I didn't see him, the urge was getting worst.
I longed for his touch and I wanted to touch him as well.
"How has your day been?." Carly asked as she dropped her stuffs in her locker.
"Slow as fuck."
"Quite the opposite."
"So....did you guys talk?."
"No, we didn't, Kaylee was everywhere and it was as if we never had a conversation yesterday."
"Well, Kaylee has been on to him as you said, maybe that's the reason."
I shrugged, "Maybe."
"Hey." Myles greeted.
"Hi...." I perked my right brow in confusion.
Why would Myles, another popular guy who's known for throwing the most coolest parties be talking to us.
"Myles....I'm quite surprised that you are talking to us, why exactly?."
"Stop acting as you are among the uncool kids, you are just not popular yet that's not a reason for me not to talk to you guys though, I'm hosting a party on Saturday at my place and I'm inviting you."
"Okay, we will be there."
"I will be expecting you, besides, if you want to get laid, this is going to be the right party." He directed the statement at Carly and winked at her before heading off.
She gasped in shock, "Did you just see that?."
"Yeah, I did." I nodded with a smile.
"He was flirting with me!."
"So, is it bad? You want bad boy right? Well, Myles is one of them."
"Point of correction, I want bad boys that will bring heaven to me, not the ones that are just trying to get into my pants."
"We both know you want to get laid, Carly and I know you don't care about who does it as long as he's hot, bad and handsome."
"Of course, I care, not just anybody can sleep with Cheerleaders, it will be a disgrace to our tradition." She complained.
"That's why you might be fucked by Myles, he's a nice soul trapped in a bad boy's body."
"How do you know that?."
"If you keep dragging this issue, I will assume that you both have a hate to love story."
"No, we don't." She scoffed.
"You see, you are dragging it." I stated.
We walked into the cafeteria and went straight to get our lunch from the lunch lady.
"The day that she will actually have a smile on her face, that's the day, I will start bring my lunch because it will be very creepy." Carly commented and I stifled a laugh.
We sat down at our regular table opposite the populars', I tried to not look at them but I couldn't.
Our eyes made eye contact and I became weak in the knees.
He broke the eye contact coldly without a smile or anything and it broke me.
Maybe, I was thinking too far, just because he talked to me doesn't mean he has interest in me.
I decided to distract myself with something or someone, yes.
The party.
It was the perfect opportunity to find a guy...
More like hook up...
Nobody ever finds their Mr right bad boy qt a party.
I ignored my subconscious and decided that my senior year wasn't going to be wasted on a guy that hasn't got my time for years now.
"I'm going to the party..." I announced to Carly.
"That's a first."
"Yes, I'm going to have the best year of my life before I leave for college." I told myself.
"Are you trying to distract yourself from...."
"I'm not." I cut her short.
"You definitely are, you like him alot, don't you?."
Her words made me weak, "Yes, I do but what's the use? I might end up being a victim of unrequited love."
"Yeah and he's going to be in a love triangle." She stated.
"I know."
"Well, he might have a reason for acting as if you are invisible."
"Acting?, I have always been invisible to him, I shouldn't feel entitled just because he talked to me for just a day besides Kaylee is everything that I'm not... hot...pretty..."
"Dumb." Carly commented harshly.
I rolled my eyes because of her bitterness, "All I'm saying is I don't think girls like me get to be with guys like him."
"It happens in movies..."
"Oh, please."
"They are tons of guys in our class that are hot, so forget about him."
"They are all jerks." I stated.
"So what he did doesn't make him a jerk, huh?."
"You are saying it like he broke up with me or something...we aren't a thing."
"You are defending him, it's advisable you forget about him before he hurts you more than this."
"He didn't hurt me, maybe he's in a bad mood today and doesn't want to socialize as usual, come on, he hardly talks to his friends or his girlfriend."
"You mean his permanent concubine." She frowned referring to Kaylee.
"I sense a fight coming up between both of you."
"I'm not going to fight, I'm just going to hit her where it hurts the most, I have had a enough of her." She glared at Kaylee who hasn't noticed that if looks could kill she would be six feets below.
"You still haven't forgiven her yet, huh?."
"No."
Carly and Kaylee haven't been best of friends ever since forever, the last straw that broke the camel's back was when Kaylee set Carly up and she almost got kicked out of the cheerleading team because Kaylee saw her as a competition.
Low blow.
"Let me guess you want to be the captain."
An evil smile appeared on her face, "Yes."
"That won't be easy though."
"I know because it's Kaylee, every one hates her, they are just scared of her, that's all, I'm not."
"You, go girl!." I screamed in cheers and all eyes focused on our table except him.
I awkwardly lowered my head and laughed.
"Do you have swimming practice, today?." Carly asked.
"No, I don't."
"Please, wait up for me, I got practice today."
"That's not a problem, I barely have anything to do at home and besides, Mrs. Stanley will be in our neighbor's house." I stated.
"Sweet."
"Please, don't create a scene at practice." I warned her.
"I will try." She shrugged before we stood up to leave the cafeteria.
Cheerleading practice went well, quite calm, a little bit of sarcastic comments here and there from the two enemies, glaring of course and me, giggling at the two girls.
Atleast, I was being myself until I got a whiff of his scent....
I could identify his cologne anywhere....
He just finished basketball practice and was looking so irresistible.
His eyes met mine and it locked and I felt that feeling once again, vulnerability.
I tried to search and made read through his eyes, why he hasn't said a word to me but I couldn't...he was a hard nut to crack.
He broke the stare and his eyes starting searching for Kaylee.
His girlfriend....
She smiled at him and then looked at me, a sly smile appeared on her smile, she clutched his arms against her body as she walked.
She was obviously insecure.
He didn't give me another glance before he left.
"Come on, let's go." Carly dragged me.
She was trying her best to distract me from thinking about him but it wasn't working.
I might sound crazy but it's like we are meant to be...okay...that's creepy.
There's something pulling me to him but I can't explain it, it's beyond physical attraction.
As if he was going to be my first and last...
Crazy... High school love story hardly makes it but this attraction...is beyond explanation.
Kyle, what have you done to me?....
