Chapter 4 Fate

Amani is a witch, the fiercest and almost as strong as Phoebe. She is very good with weapons and the best fighter they had.

And the last member, kamil, a demon and also Amani's best friend. He manipulate the wolves and can kill them by just blinking his eyes

" Good job everyone", Chioma praised. " That is all for today, no wolf seen apart from the one we just chased away", she said as she dismissed them.

Kamil and Amani walked together as they approached their secret hideout.

" What really happened out there?", Kamil curiously asked.

" What do you mean by that?"

" I can sense when someone is lying or hiding something which you are and moreover, you are no longer limping", he stated.

" Psst", Amani scoffed, she knew kamil will never sell her out so she answered him truthfully.

" I released it, the wolf might have a mate or family. I won't want to end someone's happiness just like that."

" But they are our biggest enemy, they don't belong here", said kamil.

" I know but we are meant to send them back to their territory, kill the ones that threatens our people. That is all, some of them might be little pups and must have missed their way back home."

" Our fiercest has become a softie."

Kamil dramatically sighed, he ruffled her hair to which he got a slap on his nape.

" Ouch!", He exclaimed.

" I am not a softie", Amani remarked.

They walked towards their cave, Lucy was already waiting for them to arrive. She jumped happily and flew towards them.

" Guys", she flapped her wings happily to which Amani rolled her eyes. " What took you so long?", She pouted.

" Werewolf in the territory", kamil replied.

" Oh my goodness, did they hurt anyone?"

" No of course, why will they hurt anyone when we the hunters are everywhere", Amani boasted.

" Guys guess what", Lucy squealed.

" What?"

" I found my mate."

" Wow, you are eighteen already", Amani scratched her head.

" Don't tell me you forgot today is my birthday?", Lucy asked as she looked at her friends.

" Noooo, why would I forget. I can never do that, right kamil?", Amani nervously laughed as she nudged kamil.

" Yes, we did. I mean we didn't forget our dearest friend birthday."

Lucy was not totally convinced that they didn't forget her birthday but she chose to let it slide and celebrate with them.

" So where are we going to celebrate your birthday?", Amani asked.

" We are going to town, that new joint that was opened by the elf."

" That sounds good."

" So tell me, who is your mate?", Amani asked.

" He is a fairy, the most handsome one I have ever seen", Lucy sighed dreamily. " I should introduce you to him, his name is Raphael."

" That is fine by me", Amani shrugged, she was happy her friend found her mate.

The chirping sounds of the birds, the sounds of traders selling their goods and buyers negotiating, all echoed in Amani's ears. Her ears twiched as it became itchy, she never like the town because it was more like market area.

" Come on Amani, let us check those jewelry out", her friend, Lucy dragged her along with kamil. They stopped in front of the banshee selling jewelry.

" Oh! what a beauty. The colour of your eyes suits this jade", she handed a jade ring to which Amani smiled.

" Where did you get this?", She asked the banshee.

" It is mine, where else will I get it?", The banshee huffed and crossed her arms. " Are you buying or not?"

Amani twirled her small knife in her hand ready to slice the banshee's neck.

" This jade is mine so tell me, where did you get it?", She pointed the knife in front of her to which the banshee panicked.

" You wouldn't want to scream here and I am a witch, I will seize your voice and turn it to portion", her face twisted when I said that.

" A gobliy sold it to me, I am sorry I didn't know it was yours", she confessed.

" It is fine but still I am going to pay for it", Amani dropped some coins on the table.

Lucy stared at the scene with her mouth agape.

" I think we need to teach Amani how to behave like a lady", Lucy whispered to kamil who nodded in approval.

They headed to the newest joint the elf built. Ordering a full chicken and wine, they chatted happily.

When they were about to leave, an old hag came to the joint, she was begging for food.

" Get out you witch", a fairy yelled at her, he pushed the woman away from him.

" Please, I need food, please", she begged.

" Woman I said out you bitc......"

The man tried to slap the old woman but Amani seized his hand. " Don't you dare", she sneered at him.

" How dare you you touch me. Guards!"

" I wouldn't do that if I were you", the demon spoke as he stood beside Amani.

" D-d-demon", the man stammered.

" That is right and she is a witch."

The man didn't even wait to hear that before running away.

" Here woman", Amani said as she gave the woman her bag of coins.

The woman thanked her and spoke.

" He is here", she whispered to which Amani and kamil frowned.

Is it a werewolf?

" Who is here?", Kamil demanded.

The old woman stared at kamil, she clearly didn't want to say it in front of him so he excused himself.

" The true Alpha, you shall meet him at full moon", the woman grinned, showing her rotten teeth. She moved closer to Amani and whispered in her ears. " Your mate."

Amani's eyes widen, she doesn't believe what the woman told her. Every fortune teller told her the same thing but they never mentioned Alpha.

The woman disappeared in the thin air.

" What did she tell you?", Kamil curiously asked.

" She said my mate will be here at full moon", Amani shrugged.

Her frown deepen, should she be happy or what?

She suddenly felt nervous, what is he?
