Chapter 5 05

CHAPTER FIVE

Classes went on and on with different teachers coming into the class for their different Lessons.

All this while, Adam's mind was busy as he kept thinking of not being bullied again. He did not just want to have this experience again.

His mind kept leading him to Theo's guardian angel. "Why didn't Theo's guardian angel save us while we were under the desks?" Adam asked himself.

He seemed to be confused but did not have an answer to the question. One of the teachers saw his fave changing as he looked confused.

She immediately knew that his mind has left the class and was wandering off somewhere in another land and about something else.

"Adam, what are you thinking of?" She asked. Adam was too shocked to hear his name being called.

He hesitated to stand up as he did not even hear the question. "Am talking to you Adam" the teacher's voice came again.

"What are you thinking of?" She repeated her question. "Nothing ma," Adam said scratching the back of his head.

"You are not paying attention to what I am teaching and you are telling me that you are not thinking of anything". She said again with a frown on her face.

She gave Adam a question to answer. While Adam was standing he glanced through Theo's book as he knew that this question and answer game will surely come up.

He answered the question correctly but the teacher knew that his mind was not in the class. She just had to let him go so as to finish her lesson for the day.

"Next time I will not take it lightly with you, "The teacher said as Adam took his seat after answering the question.

"What were you really thinking if?" Theo asked Adam as he also saw that his mind was not in what the teachers have been teaching since after the break period.

"Am not thinking of anything" Adam answered Theo as his mind was still very much at work. He was thinking if Theo's guardian angel was an imagination that Theo had.

"I will get to find out more about this guardian angel after school," Adam said to himself trying to concentrate in the ongoing classes.

The last class for the day ended and Adam felt a huge relief. This was what he needed most as the classes seems to be unending for him.

Theo and Adam immediately packed up their school bags and headed out of the class. Just as they were about to leave the class, Theo pulled Adam back.

"We did not say thank you to Laura for coming to our aid earlier," Theo said looking Straight into Adam's eyes.

Adam knew what he wanted. "We will wait somewhere safe outside away from the bullies for her to come".

"Why don't we just say it at once?" Theo asked with a feeling of anxiety. "That is because someone us. coming after us now and we can't wait".

Immediately, Theo knew what was happening a d he turned around. He saw the bullies advancing in their direction.

The duo did not waste time as they ran out of the class almost immediately. The bullies kept laughing at them for the manner in which they ran.

"That wasn't funny," Laura said looking sternly at Jack's face. "You think that you have grown too big," Jack said looking harshly at Laura.

"Even your little boyfriend is a coward" he continued and the pack of bullies roared again with laughter.

"At least he is not a big dumb jerk like you" Laura concluded and was about to leave the class. Jack gave her a tight grip on the hand as he felt insulted.

"Who did you call a big dumb jerk?. He asked her with a clenched fist. At this time, everyone except the bullies had left the class.

"Leave me alone," Laura said as she began to struggle with Jack. "Does this mean that she really likes me?" Theo asked Laura.

"This is the time for you to prove yourself worthy of her love" Theo's guardian angel said. "But how will I do that?" Theo asked again.

"You can't do it alone but you Can with the help of your friend," the guardian angel said again. "we both are afraid f the bullies," he said again feeling helpless.

"Let's go and save your crush," Adam said as he stood up moving towards the class. Theo followed him as his courage was charged by Adam's words.

"Leave her alone" came Theo's voice as Adam told him to speak since she was his crush. He told him that it will make her have an advantage over her.

The bullies turned to look at the boys. "What are you gonna do?" Jim the fattest boy in the class and one of the bullies asked them.

"Just let her go and you will see" came Theo's voice again. This time it was so confident and the look on His face changed.

The bullies left Laura and she ran immediately to Theo's side. They started moving towards Theo and his team.

When Adam saw this he began tugging on Theo's clothes from behind. Immediately Theo knew the signal and saw that this was not going to end well.

"Run for your lives" he shouted and everyone took to their heels including Laura. They hid behind one of the secret passages in the school's hallway.

"Thank you for saving me," Laura said with a big smile on her face. "We are the ones to be thanking you for saving us earlier" Theo replied smiling back at her.

"We should get going," Adam said getting bored from all this drama. He did not like scenes like this one even in movies.

The trio came out of the passage as the bullies were gone. Theo and Adam headed to their houses while Laura's parents picked her up.

They knew that they will not be disturbed by the bullies as they thought that they had gone home.

This was one great day for Theo as he felt that he had finally won the heart of Laura.
