Chapter 4 WHERE WAS THE GIRL GOING

Auntie will call a nurse so that your wound can be stitched up," my mother said then turned around, but my mother stopped because the girl held her hand, my mother was not allowed to go.

"No need, wait for my parents to come first, Aunty" she said holding my mother by holding my mother's hand.

My mother squinted at the girl, then briefly glanced at me.

"I'm all right, Auntie," the girl said to reassure my mother.

"Are you okay?" My mother looks restless. "But if this wound is left, it can become infected oh!" said my mother with a face that looks so worried.

"That's right, Auntie. I'm fine."

Mother let out a shaky breath. "That's it then." Mother turned her gaze to me for a moment, then looked back at the girl and my mother said again, "I go home first, I will be escorted by Nando. But Nando will come back to take care of you later."

Before leaving, my mother gave the girl her last smile while stroking her head. "I will call you a nurse to stitch up your wound later, so you don't go anywhere. Okay?"

The girl nodded, then we left her.

"How did you find a girl in such a state?" asked my mother who was now sitting in the seat next to the driver's seat.

I who was driving the car could only answer while glancing at my mother, "I found that girl on the top of the building almost killed by a vampire-"

"Vampire?" my mother was surprised.

"Yes!" I confirmed though that the creature I had met might not be a vampire.

Before I saved the girl, only my Mom and Dad knew of my abilities, abilities that were amazing to them, but not to me. Because to me, this ability that I have is just a curse that makes me look weird and different from my parents and other human beings.

"So vampires do exist."

I couldn't see the look on Mother's face clearly, but she seemed to be stupefied.

"Is it possible that the vampire is related to the recent disappearance of babies in the Hospital?" my mother's words made my heart feel a little jolted.

"Lost baby?" I said as I glanced at my mother.

This was the first time my mother had spoken about missing babies.

"Yes, missing babies. Police are investigating this case. Haven't you heard the news about it?"

I shook my head because it's true I've never heard anything about it. I'm not a fan of news, whether media comes from any media. Because as far as I know, the news that has been spread in the media lately is more news that smells of sensation than the news that smells of information. But I'm not surprised by that, because most of the inhabitants of this country do like all things sensational.

My house is not too far from the hospital. After passing several red-light intersections, the car I was driving arrived at the gate of our house.

My mother got off at my doorstep. Previously, I thought that my mother would go down first to open the closed gate of the House. But My mother said to me after getting out of the car, "Just stay here. You have to go back to meet the girl. Poor her."

"But i have tomorrow's morning class, Ma," I said because I felt a little objected to the request. As a final student, I must be more disciplined, because if I am not disciplined, then I will not be able to graduate on time.

"I know. But you can go home after his parents come later. If tomorrow you wake up late, I'll wake you up."

I couldn't refuse my mother's wish, because following her orders was absolute for me. Even though I felt forced, I had to keep the girl company and listen to her annoying words.

After arriving at the hospital grounds, I hurriedly walked towards the room where the girl was being treated. The atmosphere in the hospital was getting quiet, only a few people passed in the lobby of the hospital. Likewise with the atmosphere in the corridor of the Hospital when I passed it.

And after going through various rooms, I arrived at the room I was aiming for. But when I arrived at the room, the girl had already left the room.

When I saw a nurse about to enter the room, I asked the nurse, "Excuse me! Where is the girl who was being treated in this room earlier?"

The nurse who had just arrived looked confused when she saw the empty room, "I don't know either. Your mother asked me to stitch up the wound, but I was just about to examine it now."

The girl brings up a new riddle. "Where did that girl go? What if he couldn't survive in such a bad condition? But, where should I look for her to be sure that she will be okay?"

These questions invaded my mind. Although actually, I don't care about it. I'm just worried that she's seriously injured.
