Chapter 5 Demon Trap

Luc's POV

"It's been six months Luc, when can I bring my daughter home?"

"I know that you want her home Montgomery. If it was one of my children, I would feel the same way as you. I would want them home as well. I would do anything to bring them home. But, I would also hope that there would be someone there next to me that had my back to talk some sense into me."

"Meaning?" Montgomery asked.

"Meaning, that it would be too dangerous at the moment to bring her home, Montgomery. Palmyra is a demon, and if we bring her home, she could endanger everyone here. Even if I was willing to risk it, we can't get close enough to her to do so. She's never alone."

"It's not her fault; she didn't choose to become a demon. It was forced on it. You said that yourself, your words Luc and the words of everyone else who witnessed her get bitten."

Yes, I know. But, all the same, she's still a demon. We have a cure, let's us do our jobs, so we can get her alone and then treat her."

"You don't even know if the cure would work. It has only been used once. How do you know that Arch Angel is even telling the truth about it? Aren't you just the tiniest bit curious as to why it has only been used once?"

"I know that I have never been human Montgomery, so I don't know what it's like to get to choose to whether or not you get to choose to believe in a higher power. As a werewolf, a werewolf that was born a werewolf, as any supernatural actually, you don't get a choice. You just..."

"How so? How do you not get a choice, Luc?'

"Because we are taught from a young age that the Moon Goddess is our higher power, that she created us with love and careful thought. It wasn't just her, it was the human god as well that had a hand in helping to create us. Why would they crea..."

'Which god? There are several that humans believe in?"

"The christain god: the god that humans refer to as Jesus. Why would they take time to create us if they didn't love us; if they didn't care for us? That being said, I believe all things happen for a reason and I also believe that angels are not capable of lying. So, therefore, if the Arch Angel says a cure exists and that it works, I believe him. I also believe that there is a reason why they have never pushed it to be used more than just one time. We just have to be patient for the right moment to grab her back. Then, when we do, we do, we will use the cure on her and you will finally have her daughter home."

"And Elijah, how about him? Palmyra is his mate after all."

"That will be up to her. I would love to see them mated. Even as a human, Elijah was looking for a life partner for a while, once he transformed, that need only intensified. But, I also don't want her to be forced to make that decision. Elijah knows this and knows that after her getting her back that he is not allowed to force anything on her."

"Thank you, Luc."

: You're welcome my friend. All I ask is that you have patience. We will bring your daughter home; it's just going to take time. We are trying to work out a plausible plan, but it's getting her alone that is the issue."

"Ok, just keep me in the loop please Luc."

"Of course Montgomery. You know that I will."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

When my meeting with Montgomery was over, he stayed for a bit longer in my office. We talked about old times, the fun we had, the parties that we went to, the girls that we slept with. Knowing that our wives would not be happy about the girls if they walked in and heard us, we didn't stay on that subject for long. Goddess, how I missed just spending time with Montgomery, he is one of my closest friends. He was a really good friend. When I first called him and informed him of what happened to Palmyra, I was scared to death. He never wanted her, any of his girls, or even his wife to know about us. I of course understood, he wanted to keep them safe and the easiest way for that to happen was to keep us a secret from them. However, after his daughter was taken, we had no choice but to reveal ourselves to them, they thought that we were joking at first and they didn't take it as funny while Palmyra was M.I.A. Some freaked the fuck out; his wife was shaking beyond control up to the moment that she was put to bed. She had to be sedated just to get some sleep. Montgomery didn't want to do it at first, but she needed her rest, so he finally consented. When Palmyra first showed up at the border where she was bitten and turned into a demon, she had been missing for three months. I've told Montgomery time and again that he should have told me, I could have helped find her before she was bitten. It's a decision that he feels guilty about, a decision that he will always regret. But that can't be changed now. He said that he didn't want to burden me with everything else going on and the upcoming war. But, now, Palmyra has a play in it and unless we can capture her and cure her, he will never get his daughter back. I wish that there was more that we could do. A week to the day that she showed up here, after Montgomery and his family and friends showed up, he got a call from her. She was didn't know where she was at, she kept apologizing for deterring from her original plans and blames herself. She asked about werewolves, stating that she must have been imagining it when she saw Violet transform into her wolf. Montgomery told her that she was not. She was told that everyone that lived within the border was werewolves and that Elijah was her mate. Never being told anything about us before, other than the stories that the human realm made up about us, Montgomery explained to her only the main points. The demons wanted to make a deal, we surrender and admit defeat and they would release Palmyra. They wanted the human god to give up his throne, of course, that didn't happen, nor will it ever. So, here we are planning a war that will literally determine the fate of every creature to ever exist. In the midst of it all, my friend's daughter is a demon who we are also trying to figure out how to rescue and cure. Can't life ever be easy for once?

Tez' POV

"Tezcatlipoca, where are we at on the Forbidden Darkness girl, the mate to the Luna's brother? Is she still trying to escape or has she finally accepted her fate?"

"My Prince, I am afraid that she has been defiant every step of the way. She is still trying to fight. The venom has yet to take her over completely. It's as if her body is fighting it off."

"How the fuck is that possible? She's been with us for six months; she was injected when you first took her and then bitten by multiple demons, how is it that she has not been completely transformed by now?"

"I don't know my Prince. If it were anyone else, they would have been, but her. She is very strong, much stronger than we anticipated."

"She's very special that's for sure, and if we don't do something quick, I have a feeling that pack of mutts will do anything to get her back. She's very important to them."

"What do you suppose that we do my Prince?"

"Use that to our advantage."

"Pardon?"

"Tezcatlipoca, we are going to use the fact that she is mated to the Luna's brother to our advantage. We use their mating bond against them."

"How so?"

"We've been letting her go to the border, but not cross over, right?"

"Yes, Prince. Is there somewhere that you are going with this?"

"Let her keep going, this time without trying to stop her, still do not let her cross the border."

"My Prince, what happens if they try and capture her?"

"We will be there, waiting in the shadows for her Elijah to cross and to go to her, along with anyone else that crosses with him. Once that happens, we will capture him and whoever else that is with him. We will then turn Elijah and send him back into his pack."

"My Prince, how will that work? Elijah is smarter than that; he has been fighting the bond. How will you get him to cross and go to her? And, why turn him to just send him back to his pack? They will refuse him entry once they smell that he has been turned."

"Tezcatlipoca, your stupidity amazes me still. I thought by now that you would have grown out of it. Maybe, I should turn your family? Will that smarten you up?"

"You swore that if I went with you and turned that you would leave my sister and brothers alone. You already took me from them. I was all they had left when our parents passed. Why must you take their souls as well?"

"If you want me to leave those brats alone, I highly suggest Tezcatlipoca that you smarten up. Otherwise, they will not remain safe, only this time, I will not just turn them, and I will give them as mates to my demon born, only for them to die a painful death if and when anyone tries to cure them. Is that what you want?"

"No, my Prince."

"Good, now pay attention"

"My apologies my Prince."

"We will bloody Palmyra up and set her free afterward, send demons to follow her, but keep a distance. Their scent must be masked so that it cannot be picked up. Have her lure Elijah across the border. Once, she does, we will capture him. Once that is done, he will be turned, and sent back to his pack, after his scent is masked, so he does not smell of demon blood. We will use him to get inside information from the source themselves and use that to bring everyone that is not on our side, once and for all. They can't win, if all their battle tactics are being hand-delivered to the enemy, now can they?"

"When do you want it done my Prince?"

"Yesterdy!"

"Right away my Prince."
