Chapter 2 ON THE RUN { I am the last of my kind }

CHAPTER 2

Mexico 12th August 2015.

Silent cold night, howling of owls could be heard and the cold atmosphere made me shivered as I got to my apartment.

I signed, knocking on the door twice, few minutes, it was opened, revealing green as she stared at me expressionlessly before opening the door wide for me to come in.

"your late" I heard her say as I dropped my bag on the dining table

"Sorry" I replied promptly as I ambled towards the kitchen to get water.

"Mum?" I asked stepping out of the kitchen, while green joined me at the dining.

"She's fine, sleeping " she retorted while I nodded.

"so....."

"shhh". I cut her short when I heard wild snarls in my head

"quickly, hide!" I yelled as we both ran upstairs, got into the room, and rushed towards mum, we both held her up from the bed while she grunted, we moved towards the big wardrobe far end in the room and hid her inside. While green and I hurriedly hid under the bed.

"When will this ever get over, not again" green muttered, while my eyes drifted off to my glowing necklace. It was glowing so brightly, I quickly covered it with my hands.

I had always had this necklace since I was a little girl, don't know how I got it but mum told me it was from someone special to me. And whenever this unknown creature came after me, it always glows brightly. It seemed like it was some kind of connection to them and I don't seem to know why they are after me or the necklace.

" I'm always on the run, running from these raucous creatures " I gasped as their snarls got louder in my head, green seem to hear it as she clamped her ears shut.

I clamped my ears as well, the creatures showed up right inside the room searching, snarl and red eyes, my heart pounded heavily as one of the creatures got close to the wardrobe we hid mum.

"No! please no!!" I cried out in my head, we watched the creature trying to open the wardrobe while we stayed quiet under the bed.

About to open the wardrobe, it stopped and turned around before dashing out of the room while the others followed suit, seconds, we heaved a sigh exhaling heavily, that was a close one, we stayed numbed till we hear the snarls no more.

We quickly came out of our hiding rushing towards mum, we held her tightly as we got to the bed and placed her properly on it, we ran downstairs to closed the door.

"That was a close one!" Green yelled, spreading her arms as she scoffed.

"yeah I know, I wasn't surprised tho they found me here, anywhere we go, they find us," Charlie said painfully, as she looked away, frowning.

"Which country are we going to this time?" green asked exhaling heavily as she wiped away the sweat from her forehead.

"None" Charlie replied lowly as she stared at the door, it was obvious she already had enough of the creatures, she doesn't care anymore if they wanna kill her or whatever, but she wouldn't want to risk the life of her family.

"California would do, green said as they both darted back into the room and stayed with Mrs Gwen for few minutes before retiring back to charlie's room.

Mum has been paralyzed after she tried saving me from the fire that morning, she got scars and.......Couldn't move around on her own anymore, I felt, guilty. Charlie thought hardly as they both stepped into the room.

"wondering why those beasts are after you??," green asked as she dresses the bed.

"don't know" Charlie replied shrugging

" anytime they come after me, I kind of feel it, like I hear their snarls in my head even before they get to me and this necklace......" I said, removing it from my neck.

"yeah I know it glows" green cut in, she jumped and fell on the bed.

" Seemed like they wanted it, " Charlie said laying beside her.

" they wanted it or you are still a mystery Charlie and mum wouldn't tell us how you got the necklace." green said as her forefinger darted in different directions.

" aside from that, your mysterious powers is also something I can't quite put my finger on," green added rolling her eyes

"What about my red hair?"

"Red hair is normal Charlie, stop being silly, I know yeah, you've been on a fugitive run away from those ugly monstrous beasts coming after you, glowing necklace, supernatural powers and nightmares are quiet......."

"let's not talk about it, I wanna sleep!" charlie cut her short as she tossed her on the other side of the bed and closed her eyes.

"What about the unknown feminine voice you said you hear in your dreams??"

"not now green!" Charlie replied half yelling.

"Okay, okay okay, but! pray you don't have nightmares again, I already had one for a night ma'am" charlie heard green muttered, she ignored her.

Her heart pounded rapidly, of course, she was scared to sleep, scared to encounter her terrifying nightmares again.

" wake up CHARLIE GWEN! It's morning already!!" green yelled as she chuckled and quickly ran out of the room before Charlie wakes up

"not now green, I wanna sleep okay" Charlie muttered sleepily as she tried sitting up on the bed, she rubbed her inching eyes as she scan the room before sighing deeply.

"Good morning sister, how was your beauty sleep?!" She heard green say, she quickly drifted her eyes towards the door and green winked at her.

"Your such a killjoy green," Charlie said scoffing as she stood up from the bed, stretching her hands yawing tiredly.

" Want me to bath you?" green teased

"You wish" Charlie rolled her eyes as she walked towards the bathroom, got in before closing the door.

She pulled off her clothes too bad she forgot to put on her nights because of those monstrous creatures. She turned on the shower and stood beneath it, while the water ran through her skin, she signed remembering her nightmare last night, she was grateful she didn't wake green-up, she still couldn't understand why the beast she sees in her dreams keep hunting her and the unfamiliar feminine voice.

"Geez! this is is so frustrating!!" Charlie roughen her hair as she hissed angrily. Few minutes she was done, she stepped out of the bathroom, walking towards the closet, she heard her phone rang up.

"not now!" she groaned as she left the closet, walked towards the dressing mirror and picked up her phone.

"Dean Roseline!" she exclaimed as she quickly clicked the caller icon and placed the phone on her right ear.

"Morning ma'am!"

"It's about time miss Charlie, don't be late!"

"I won't ma'am" Charlie replied rapidly as she threw her phone on the bed and hurried towards the closet to get dressed.

"your luggage is ready!!" green announced as she stepped into Charlie's room, she fell on the bed with a loud sign, pouting her lips.

" oh, you ready!! So fast!!" She exclaimed as Charlie stepped out of the closet, hurrying towards the dressing mirror to pack her hair ponytail, she turned and dashed towards the bed.

"get away! get away!!" She said as she shoved green aside and picked up her phone and ran out of the room

"green get down here!!" she yelled downstairs

" ugh, has she forgotten I'm her elder sister??, I deserve some respect!" green muttered as she left the room.

" ain't you gonna wish mum goodbye??" Green asked, as she got to the parking lot.

"Nope" Charlie replied shortly, she got inside the car while green got into the driver seat.

"I understand", green said igniting the car, kicked the brake and took off.

"Fuck dicks plentiful as you want Charlie, college boys are handsome, I bet they'd crawl over you dear Lil sis, your pretty no doubt," green teased as she looked away and chuckled, playing her fingers on the steering.

"gross green, stop that okay, I'm not gonna do anything " Charlie rolled her eyes looking away through the car window.

"Okay ma'am" green replied with a straight face before they both busted out laughing loudly.
