Chapter 3: What to believe in

Jamie's story

Jamie was a good kid. He wasn't the most popular kid, but he wasn't a nerd either. He moved to the states from Ireland because his mom wanted to give him and his sister a better life.

His mother was a single mom, and he loved her very much. Jamie has had a hard life growing up. Over the years he stopped believing in religion and questioned everything he had ever been taught about it.

He was just fine with being an atheist and didn't care that people knew that. He wore his heart on his sleeve which in turn would only get him hurt. He has even given up on love maybe it was just a made-up thing like everything else.

He wasn't angry about it. He just felt like he shouldn't waste his time worrying about it. The only secret that Jamie had was he was an avid writer. He loved writing stories but was too scared to ever let anyone read them.

See Jamie was his harshest critic. He didn't believe in himself enough to try. He seemed to always be in some sort of fight with the school's little miss perfect Christian girl Lea.

He hated how bubbly she was and loved nothing more than to piss her off. He loved seeing just how angry he could get her. She acted so righteous, but he knew no one was ever really that perfect. Now with him in this project maybe he could finally show everyone the real Lea and expose her for the fraud she really is. Yes, this was going to be one fun project that he couldn't wait to do.

Lea's story

Lea was your sweet innocent little church girl. She did everything right and never got in trouble. Everyone loved her. Well, everyone except Jamie that is. That boy frustrated her so much.

But what he didn't know is that she has been in love with him ever since he moved in next door to her. He was the bad boy everyone always warned her about, but she didn't care. He had the face of an angel and the soul of the devil.

She was tired of being perfect. She wanted to be bad for once, and she wanted to do that with Jamie. Now she was paired up with him for the nerd project, and she only hoped he could see past her façade to the real her.

The her wanted him to touch her. She would give anything to win the heart of the guy she always fought with, but she knew that was never going to happen. So, she kept her love for him a secret, and pretended to hate him. Maybe with this project things could change? Or maybe things would forever remain the same.
