She still had her ring on,it became more of a reminder of the betrayal she encountered from her most beloved person than the love they shared.It tore her apart to think of it.

"Miss,you're free to go."she heard the cell door click open and a voice of an officer she saw around followed.

"What,am free?"a smile broke through her face.

"Not so fast miss Jeffery" that was the detective she knew and despised "you were only bailed out,to be completely free is after you attend a trial and proven innocent,till then you are not supposed to leave the city or country."he spitted

She looked at him with so much hate in her eyes if only looks could kill,the detective would be six feet under right now.

"You don't have to worry detective, my lawyer will inform me of the instructions,she knows her responsibilities unlike some." between him and her there was some sort of unspoken feud, they always talked to each other in sarcastic and venomous tones.She walked away from the hall and went straight to retrieve her belongings to find Claudia already having them.She ran to her and embraced her in a tight hug.

"Ohh am so happy,finally i will breath the air outside this hell hole"she rolled her eyes.

"Don't celebrate yet,we still have to go to trial..."

"Blah,blah,blah Claudia don't be such a party pooper i should atleast celebrate for being out of here,God i never knew i wanted the outside air so much".

Claudia was happy to see that her friend is excited but she wasn't a fool,deep down Alina was hurting and she knew that.

"Let's get you home then"she uttered cheerfully.They got out of the police station and headed straight to her apartment.

"Oh i missed this confinment,"she got inside speaking dreamily.Walking to the kitchen,she opened the fridge to see if there was groceries ss she wanted to prepare something to eat.

"Arrgh you don't know how horrible the food there was,i had to swallow down bile whenever i was about to puke,how disgusting is that?."

Claudia was laughing at her friend's dramatic behaviour.Seeing this had Ali irritated.

"Am telling you a serious matter here why the heck are you laughing?"

"Okay Okay am sorry my lady"she rose her hands up in surrender.Her expression turned serious all of a sudden and Ali wondered if her friend had multiple personalities to switch to and from.

"Did you talk to Alex about this?"She asked with concern.

With the mention of his name hurt flashed through her features and it didn't take a genius to know that she did have an encounter with him which wasn't a good one.

"You did didn't you?"Claudia asked and Ali could not stop the tears that escaped her eyes and the only sound that was able to come from her voice box was a sob.She nodded her head.

"He doesn't believe me Claudia, the man who claimed to love me multiple times,i should have known that love never came with trust."she spoke with so much hurt.

"That bastard,"Claudia new that her friend needed a shoulder to cry on and what was she there for?

She heard her chukle humorless like and what she said next left Caludia with shock "he even accused me of cheating and you know what's the worst part is? He said it was with my supposedly accomplice whom he thinks to be Marco".

"Marco the..."Claudia's eyes were now as wide as saucers and she didn't finish the sentence since she knew that Ali understood.

"The very same Marco,i never even had eyes for the guy,the only thing that we had was pure business"she seems to have been lost in thoughts as she said the next words "destructive one at that."

She stood up from the sofa that Claudia took her to when she had been crying and went back to the kitchen with Claudia following in elegant strides then continued from where she left.

"But you know what Ali,maybe all of what he said was just out of anger,am not goint to justify his behaviour in anyway but let him cool off then go talk to him."Claudia tried to reason but Ali a girl with her pride would never go to him to just 'talk' he did the mistake and he shoud be the one coming to her.

She did promise herself to go meet him in his office but that was so she could return back his ring.

A while later after they were done talking and eating,Claudia went back to her house and Ali sat in her's as a thought came in mind.She felt the urge to write down her will and didn't know why that sudden urge came to her so she wrote the necessary information to be turned valid by the law.

With her apartment,she wanted it sold and the money to be deposited in a trust fund she had opened for Clara.As for her jewelries they were to be divided among her sister Abi,her sister in law Isabella,Clara and Claudia.She had four cars,a Bentley,Porche,BMW and a Lambo.Two of them to be sold and the rest two were a gift for her nephew Kyle and Clara.She was to choose which one were to be sold and the money for the ones sold would go directly to her trust fund.

She used to fund an orphanage named 'the daughters of mother Mary' she wrote a cheque of one million dollar to be withdrawn from her account and the rest to go to Clara since she didn't have anyone except for her.Her parents had everything so she didn't have to write them anything other than her love towards them.Her brothers Leo and Jack were the ones remaining.With Leo,he always wanted a lake house but was too busy to arrange for one so she decided she would look for one and buy it for him that will also be his 30th birthday gift and as for Jack he always wanted a painting she had in her living room of a very famous artist he loved so she decided to give him that and a new version of the Bentley which were his favorite cars.

She thought of anyone she might have left out but there was none,so she closed her notebook and went on sipping her wine but someone came to her mind

Alex!but why?she didn't have to give him anything they were over but something in her felt the need to do that so she opened her book and wrote a watch adorned with star-shaped diamonds and a note she planned to write.She'll make sure to complete all of this before her trial starts.It was a month away.

Alina visited her office that day,she wanted to see what had happened after she left.When she got there,people were staring at her and whispering at each other.She felt naked,they didn't show her any respect but she didn't mind and went on to her office when her Alma saw her she was ecstatic and Ali was happy to know that atleast there are some who are on her side.

"Miss,oh my God i missed you so much"she had tears in her eyes as she hugged her.Ali hugged back

"Geez Ayou're going to suffocate me"she said jokingly and laughed a little

"Am sorry miss it's just that am so excited to see you i mean look at you"she sniffed wiping her tears.

"Don't worry girl am very fine now,am going to my father catch yoh later"she said waving

"Okay miss"

She knocked on the door of her father's office and heard a 'come in'as she went inside he raised his eyes from the papers he was signing and seeing that it was her he went on with what he was doing.

"I can see that you are not happy to see me here?"she asked as she took a seat.

"What are you doing here Ali,i thought i suspended you till this matter subsides,it's not good for the company's image."he said boringly

"Wow,my own father thinks am bad for his company's image isn't that just great"she sarcastically pointed out.

Taking a deep sigh,David took off his glasses and stopped what he was doing to have his full concentration on her

"You do know very well that that's not the case,plus this company isn't just mine it's a family's company Ali and please i had so much to deal with already if you would please let me finish this"he was speaking in a very gentle tone that she found shocking.

"You didn't come to visit me"it was a statement

"Ali,i had so much on my plate already i didn't have time to come but i did send my lawyer however you already had one"

"So i your daughter also have to be on the schedule for you to meet me?Anyway,i didn't come here to argue but ask you for something."

"You know am your father and you can ask me for anything"he reassured her.

"Since i don't intend on coming back here,i want you to give my position to Alma and increase her salary by fifteen percent."

"What?your salary is already too high why would i increase it if she was to take your place?Plus why are you saying you won't be coming back it is not like i fired you Alina this is just for sometime and you'll be back in your position"he said angrily

"Won't that be 'a bad image'for your company?Besides,even if this matter will be settled i won't be coming back to work here since i can't work with people who don't trust me so are you going to do it or not Father?"her voice was anything but gentle.

"Fine,if that's what you want.I'll give her the promotion but for the time being we'll stick to the salary you had been getting,the office isn't in good condition.When we get past this then we will increase her salary."he said defeatedly

"You won't regret it Dad,she's a good employee and have the qualifications for the job you can check her CV."she said that standing up and went over the desk hugged her father and muttered a 'good day dad' then started leaving.

"Did you do it?"he asked

"If i tell you i didn't and the evidence says otherwise,will you believe me?"she answered back with a question and seeing that he went mute by her question she knew what the answer was and decided to leave.

David loved his daughter very much and trusted her.The issue is the evidence against her,that's what he failed to understand.Although Ali was hurt by her father not coming even once to see how she was doing,she still held much love and respect for him so all her affection towards him were true.

After the talk with her father,she decided to head to her brothers asking them the same question 'why didn't you visit me'the answers they gave was nothing but disappointing the same as what her father told her.They were both in Leo's office and Jack tried to excuse their behaviour.

"Ali,you know we love and we were hurt by what happened but things in the office where hectic and we had no choice but engross ourselves in it."although they were both genuine she still could not wrap her head in the fact that they didn't visit her!

The next meeting she had was with her mom and sister in her mother's workplace,they talked and laughed like a happy family they are.Both Abi and Eleanor were over the moon seeing her there but scolded her for not telling them much sooner.

She was glad she had a family that loved her and misses her when she's gone although some of them didn't show it.

Next she was going to meet someone who isn't family but holds a sacred place in her heart.She's yet to find out how he will react seeing her______________
