Chapter 4 Lost Everything You Had

A taxi pulled up outside the Sky Corp. building.

Farris got out of the car and walked towards the entrance.

He had just finished cleaning the house and didn't have time to change his clothes.

When Farris walked into the hall, he saw someone familiar-Ines Jackson, Sheila's cousin.

Ines was also Sean Jackson's daughter.

Faustina had three sons. Sean Jackson was the second son, and Quinton Jackson was the third son.

The cosmetic company which Sheila ran was in dire straits, tottering on the brink of bankruptcy. Other members of her family were all plotting against them, trying to steal their business.

And, Ines was one of them.

The blue hot pants she had on bared ample amounts of her long, white legs. Her bare midriff T-shirt left even less to the imagination, and her heavy makeup rounded up a look popular among Internet celebrities. She sat on a revolving chair, with her legs coquettishly crossed, commanding all the attention in the hall.

Farris froze when he saw her. He didn't want her to know he had come to the Sky Corp., which would cause him unnecessary troubles. However, before he could make himself scarce, a female voice rang out.

"Farris?"

Ines had been enjoying flirtatious gazes from some of the male staff in the hall when she spotted Farris. Although his back was turned and he was making what seemed like a hasty escape attempt, she had recognized him at once.

Farris sighed and turned around to face Ines.

"It really is you. Why are you here at Sky Corp. instead of my uncle's house doing housework?"

Ines said, snorting derisively at him. Then, she stood up, walked over, and looked him up and down condescendingly.

The longer she looked at him, the more twisted her face became. "Look at your clothes. They're worse than those of our Jackson Family's servants. Look at the state you're in, disgracing our entire family with every step you take. I'm warning you now-don't tell anyone you know me! Otherwise, you'd be embarrassing me as well," she sneered.

"What I'm doing here is none of your business!"

Farris coldly replied.

He hated this woman. Of everyone in the Jackson Family, she was always mean to him.

He turned around to leave the unreasonable woman behind.

However, she rushed ahead and blocked his path. It seemed she had no plans to let him go.

"I want to point out that nobody like you is allowed to visit the Sky Corp.! I know Sheila wishes to cooperate with Sky Corp., but Mr. Davis has decided to give me this project. You guys just sit there and wait for bankruptcy!" Ines said, cackling sarcastically.

Farris couldn't be bothered speaking any further, so he just stared coldly at her.

Ines' family had always looked down on Sheila's family. They enjoyed making fun of members of Sheila's family and often did so on sight. There was no love between both families. Ines' family cared only about their interests.

Farris was so disappointed!

His glare was starting to make Ines scared, so she shrank back and waved him away like a fly. "Get out of here! Your clothes are smelly, and it's making me uncomfortable."

Farris continued to glare as Ines backed away. Suddenly, the corners of his lips curled into a cold smile, and he said, "I looked you up, paying particular attention to your educational background. You said you graduated from an American university, but that's a lie; you made it up to fool everyone in the Jackson Family!"

"You!"

Ines' face fell as she became livid with anger. Nothing infuriated her more than people bringing up her educational background.

"What? Did I say anything wrong? I graduated from a famous domestic university as a true top student, the sort you purport to be. Take a look at yourself. How dare you belittle me? You call me a loser, but you're even worse than one!"

As Farris unloaded the awful truth, he approached her one step at a time, and although Ines was furious, she continued to back away, one step at a time. Soon, her back hit the elevator doors, and she couldn't go any further!

Her face was completely red with anger, but she couldn't say a word to refute him.

Farris sneered. He had no plans to indulge her any further, as he had already vented his anger.

Ines had been making things difficult for Sheila, and every time she saw Farris, she'd mock him.

Suddenly, the elevator made a loud ding, and its doors opened, causing Ines to fall backward, exposing her underwear to all and sundry.

A middle-aged man with a potbelly and a terribly swollen face was the only person in the elevator. Ines had fallen in front of him. When he saw her, his eyes lit up, and he couldn't take them off her.

This man was Luka Davis.

He had lost all his assets, but if he retained his position as the purchasing department's manager, making a comeback wasn't impossible for him.

Therefore, despite having a face so swollen that it could be mistaken for that of an overweight pig, as well as damaged reputation and tainted corporate image, he could still hold his head high and walk with confidence. He was, after all, still a manager, a senior position in the group.

"Mr. Davis!"

Ines was surprised to see his face so swollen. She quickly stood up and asked with concern, "Mr. Davis, what happened to your face?"

Luka didn't reply. He shifted his gaze to Farris instead, observing him with a strange expression.

He couldn't help feeling that Farris resembled the man from last night, but he quickly ruled out the possibility.

That man was incomparably powerful, and Farris was the useless son-in-law of the Jackson Family. There were no similarities between the two of them.

"Farris, what are you doing here, you loser? If you want the cooperation to continue, have Sheila come to my house in person tonight! Only then will I show some mercy and give her another project," Luka coldly said.

Farris frowned in disgust at Luka's offer.

"Fuck off!" He replied, sneering at the pig-faced man.

Ines got angry and shouted, "Who do you think you are, you loser? Kneel and apologize to Mr. Davis right now!"

When Luka heard that, he smiled complacently and said, "Farris, this is the last chance I'll give you. Go back and tell Sheila to come to my house tonight. But first, you kneel and apologize, or else, you'll be hospitalized tomorrow and spend the rest of your life there!"

Farris' eyes flashed with a cold light. "Why should I kneel and apologize?"

He was no longer the bullied son-in-law in the Jackson Family. He was now the owner of the entire Sky Corp.!

"Because I'm Sky Corp.'s manager, and my annual salary is one million dollars. And with one word, I can make Sheila's company go bankrupt!" Luka said, laughing with disdain.

Farris laughed, too, and replied, "Then, today, I'll make you lose everything you have!"

Luka and Ines shared looks of surprise and then burst of laughing.

"Show me what you've got, you penniless loser!" Luka said with a condescending chuckle. Then, he held Ines' waist and pressed a button to call the elevator.

When the doors opened, he went in with Ines, and they left for a higher floor.

The security guards and receptionists had witnessed the confrontation. They couldn't help staring at Farris with surprise.

"Where did this loser come from? He said he'd make Mr. Davis lose everything he has. That's hilarious."

"It sure is. I have a friend in the purchasing department who told me that Mr. Davis will soon become a member of the board of directors, taking his career to new heights."

The onlookers discussed amongst themselves.

Their mockery didn't anger Farris. In fact, he didn't care about them at all!

Ignoring the chatter, Farris took out his phone and dialed a number.

A second later, the call connected!

"Hello, Mr. Leopard. What can I do for you?"

A sweet and melodious female voice rang out.

"Come down and get me. You have only five minutes!"

After saying that, he hung up!

The hall suddenly turned quiet. His actions had stunned the spectating employees.

What was that all about? Why did that tramp hang up after only a few words? Why did he act like he was the boss?

"Where did this loser come from? He's quite arrogant!"

"Yes, I'm afraid he's a lunatic."

"It's possible. His clothes are worth less than five hundred dollars. How dare he come here?"

"Maybe, he's a poor relative of one of our group's directors, and he came here to beg for help!"

Two receptionists gossiped loudly while staring at Farris as though he were a mad man.

However, Farris ignored them.

In less than five minutes, the elevator doors opened again.

A beautiful woman with long legs, who wore a smart business suit, hurried out.

She was no other than Jewel Leach, the VP of Sky Corp.!

Beads of sweat dripped down Jewel's forehead as she anxiously hurried out of the elevator. Then, she saw Farris.

"Excuse me. Are you Mr. Leopard?" she asked uncertainly.

Farris nodded.

A respectful smile surfaced on Jewel's face, and she said, "Please, follow me."

The scene shocked every staff member in the vicinity!

The hall, which was on the first floor, suddenly became as quiet as a grave.

"There is no rush. First thing's first, these two are fired!" Farris said.

Then, he pointed at two receptionists, both of whom openly mocked him only minutes ago. The two of them were now sitting upright with expressions of shock on their faces.

When they heard his request, they gasped in shock.

"Who the hell do you think you are? You can't fire whoever you want!" One of the receptionists suddenly stood up and bellowed.

Jewel's face fell. She walked over to the receptionist and slapped her hard across the face.

"Shut up! Pack your things now and go through the resignation procedures before the end of the day, you hear me! Guards, throw them out!"

Then, Jewel walked back to Farris and respectfully led him to the elevator.

As the doors closed, Farris' cold eyes surveyed everyone on the first floor. The place was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop!

Sky Corp. was an industry titan in Asopool, and its market value was a mind-blowing five hundred billion dollars!

Rude receptionists were a stain on the conglomerate's image.

Sky Corp. did not need ill-bred gossipers in its ranks!

Thus, two receptionists were disgraced and promptly fired, in public, just like that!

The first floor erupted in an uproar!

The security guards came over and threw the disgraced receptionists out of the building.

Everyone now remembered that seemingly ordinary man.

He wasn't someone to be trifled with!
