Chapter 3 An Uninvited Guest

Felix's POV:

After tucking Angelina in bed, I watched as she drifted to sleep almost immediately. Some minutes later, I got a call from Isabella. "Hey, Felix. How is it going?"

"She has just fallen asleep. We have to wait a little longer. I want to make sure she's sleeping soundly."

"Hurry up! Ugh! I have been waiting for you for a long time. My patience is running out."

"Isabella, please wait for me a little longer. I promise to be there soon. Be a good girl,"

I assured her in a sweet tone.

An hour later, I left Angelina's house after making sure she was fast asleep and wouldn't notice my absence. When I opened the front door of Isabella's house, I was greeted with the sight of her lying on the sofa provocatively with a glass of red wine in her hand.

When I got home, I looked for the light switch on the wall with my fingers. Before I could flip the switch, a woman hugged me and put her arms around my neck.

"Baby, why did you come back so late today? Don't you like your new school?"

Instead of answering her, I turned on the light and walked in slowly.

"What's wrong? Why aren't you answering me or even acknowledging my presence?"

Angelina's POV:

"It's so noisy. Who disturbed my sleep this early morning? Why can't people be civilized?"

Turning on my bed, I grabbed a pillow and covered my ears in a bid to reduce the noise. Due to the sudden appearance of that devil, I couldn't sleep well. I felt a pair of vicious eyes looking at me all through the night. Humph! This was all his fault. That bastard!

After rubbing my face, I forced myself to open my eyes. Yawning tiredly, I ran my fingers through my hair as I walked out of the room. My sight was still blurry due to my dizziness. In the living room, I saw 'Felix' sitting on one of the sofas. Rubbing my eyes, I subconsciously walked to him and sat down beside him. With my eyes closed, I put my arms around his neck and rubbed it lovingly.

"Good morning, Felix. It's so noisy here. Did you wake up because of the noise too?"

"Yeah!"

Hearing this simple answer, I inched closer to him and rested my head on his arm. I tried to get a more comfortable position due to my tiredness.

"I don't know why people can't go about their daily business without making too much noise. I couldn't sleep well. Look at my dark circles!"

He touched my face slowly after I complained. Unlike before, Felix's hand felt a little rough against my skin. For a while, he gently massaged my eye bags and this made me comfortable. I also felt sleepy again.

"You didn't sleep well? Then you should sleep a little longer." As he spoke, he put his arm on my waist.

An alarm clock seemed to go off in my head. This familiar and terrible voice made me wide awake immediately. My eyes instantly flew open. And I saw the face of the person in front of me. I gasped in shock.

It was Cedric, the devil!

I closed my eyes and shook my head in disbelief. No, no. It was impossible. How could he be at my house this early morning? It was just a dream! At this moment, I didn't believe what I just saw now. I concluded that it was an illusion since I didn't have enough sleep last night. I took a deep breath and slowly opened my eyes again. The only thing I saw was his smiling face.

My face instantly turned pale and I shuddered. In the blink of an eye, I got up and wanted to run out.

He pulled me back when I had only taken a few steps. Holding the back of my head with one hand, he kissed my lips ruthlessly.

"Didn't you slap me enough yesterday? Do you want to continue from where you stopped?" Cedric held my hand and placed it on his cheek that I slapped yesterday. "My cheek still hurts. You shouldn't have hit me like that, baby."

Seeing the mockery in his eyes, I struggled to yank my hand away. Just then, Felix's voice came from the kitchen, "Honey, are you awake?"

His voice shocked me. It was at this moment that I knew that Felix was also in the house.

"Yes. Good morning!" I answered in a hurry. The noise coming from the kitchen was too loud that I was afraid that he wouldn't hear me, so I deliberately shouted my response.

"Damn it! The range hood broke down early in the morning and keeps making noises. I'm currently fixing it. Sorry about the noise. By the way, your chairman came to see you. Please entertain your visitor first. I really can't move away from here until I'm done fixing it!"

Widening my eyes in shock, I stared at the man in front of me. I tried to digest what Felix had just said.

Chairman? What chairman?

Noticing that I was confused, Cedric raised his eyebrows and kissed the tip of my nose. He then whispered in my ear, "Dear Angelina, it's my honor to be your chairman. I hope we can build and maintain a cordial relationship. Please cooperate with me from now on."

I knew that he stressed the word 'cooperate' deliberately. My instincts told me that I was in grave danger now. Seeing as an evil glint appeared in his eyes, I began to shake like a leaf. As I clenched my fists tightly, my sharp nails sank into my palms. However, I didn't feel any pain at this moment.
