Chapter 7 DING DONG...

Ding dong!! rang the doorbell for the third time. I walked lazily, and shirtless to the door and opened it a little, popping out my head.

"Urh, sorry, did I disturb you?" Sofia asked, looking nervous. She had her hair tied in a ponytail, with a green ribbon. It made her so beautiful.

"I...urm, no, not at all", I said rubbing my sleepy eyes. I opened the door halfway and gestured her in. She climbed on the sofa like a little cat, giving me a slight smile.

" I was wondering where I would find you" she began, gigglingly.

" Yeah, I was still asleep. You have no idea how tired I was" I said, leaning on a table, my hands were behind my back.

Well, she always kind of dumb in such cases.

" What's that?", She pointed towards my back. I smiled.

" Oh, it's... Its kinda embarrassing if I.... "

" C'mon, I won't find it that way", she said, standing and coming closer to me, staring hard at my hidden hands. She was just about to drag my hands out.

" Oh... Ok, fine", I said, reviewing my hands.

" Wow, how do you....get that? You are the best!! She jumped with excitement.

" I was just, urm, about to... " But she took the chocolate cupcake swiftly from my hand before I could finish.

" Hope you don't mind me having it all", she grinned happily and sat at the sofa opposite me to devour it.

'you had a cake and you hiding it from me. Are you kidding me?", She said after a bite, making me gobsmacked. I laughed and nodded. She got all it takes to make one happy.

"What about Peggy and Sonia" I asked rolling my eye to the bar, trying not to look at her.

"Shopping, they will drop by to pick me up" she said, so busy with the cake.

Minutes later, she was still on the least part of the cake, when her face suddenly turn pale. She bit her lips, looking worried.

"Urmm, I heard all you said two days ago when Alexander died. I couldn't bear it too", she said turning the atmosphere to a moody one.

"I don't want to talk about it", I said, looking away.

"I know, you look really sad even till now", she said dropping the little piece of cake, making her way to me. I could now perceive her regular scent which reminds me of cherries.

'I wish I could console you at that moment', she said almost in a whisper. She was so close to me now. Her cold eyes looked over me, up and down. Her voice was so persuasive.

She leaned forward to my ears and said 'I just wish'. Her Scottish accent made her voice sensuous. Her voice slipped past my defences and caressed my heart. My throat suddenly became very dry. She licked my earlobe with the flick of her tongue and her body brushed against mine. I became very aware of her breast pressing into my chest. I stood motionless and tensed as she withdrew her face behind mine and was about to make it to my lips...

DING DONG!!!

The doorbell interrupted and I took a quick breath. Sofia made to her sofa and threw the remaining cake into her mouth.

"That was quick" Sofia said, with a mouthful.

"Or maybe not", I said as I looked from the lock hole and saw Ranni at the doorstep. I opened the door, and look at Ranni as he looked back at me, and had his eyes off from mine.

"Look, Greg, I'm really sorry for all that, I.. I just wish I didn't do any of those.. I'm so sorry " he said and looked behind me.

" Apologies decline, Mate, you have to go and keep those apologies for your children", Sofia said behind me. He looked at her and rolled his eyes.

" A minute please..." I said and shut the door, turning to Sofia.

" What do you think you were doing", I asked wide-eyed.

" I was just doing what have to be done", she answered almost immediately.

" You weren't, you just trying to be rude, isn't it", I asked.

" What... Do you expect me to be nice with him after those fights with my brother", she said scarcastially, looking puzzled.

She was getting pissed off.

" Sofia, listen to me, ok.... Ranni was apologizing to me, not you, don't let all these look so serious", I said, calmly.

" Are you trying to say you accepting him back" she asked with a hushed whispers and unbelievable look.

" Just stay back and watch", I said.

I opened the door and he got up from the little staircase at our entrance.

"Ranni, I heard you. But I don't know how clean you are, so I'm giving you conditions", I said.

"Oh fuckkk", Sofia whispered furiously behind me.

"Fine, file them to me", Ranni said putting his hands up like he was surrendering.

"I wouldn't like to see you with your cousin, Arnold, whatsoever." I said looking at him narrowly with a smirk.

Ranni sighed.

"Is that so hard to keep? " I said with a larger smirk.

" I will do just that" he said nodding in affirmation.

" I will appreciate that" I said.

He smiled and brought out his hand for a shake. After shaking him, he left.

I shut the door and Sofia was on the sofa, looking at me with no expression and folding her hands.

"Can you trust someone that easily", she asked.

"No, and obviously I didn't" I said sitting next to her.

"Have you been betrayed before", she asked again. I looked at her with a puzzled look.

"I don't like this conversation" I answered.

"Well, I won't like you experiencing one", she added.

"I gave him conditions, don't you get it" I said, looking at her.

" Goddamn conditions!! Do you follow his movements everytime? Do you even know where he's going to now?" She asked, rising up.

' no, you don't get it, cause if you do... You won't think of such stupid decisions, if you do, you shouldn't have stopped me when I could have him off for good", Sofia added.

" He's not bad", I said shaking my head.

" Not bad? He's worst" she said in an outraged tone. I looked downward, almost regretting. She noticed she has pushed it far.

" Its gonna be fine", I whispered.

" I hope so", she sang along.

BING!!

My mobile vibrated.

'coming over to your den, to pick up my pet. Peggy', was the text.

"Nice try", I said.

I dropped my phone and went over to the dining table to have some toasted slice of bread. But I couldn't see any. I randomly went to the refrigerator and brought out a pack of chips. I went over to where Sofia sat and dropped it on the table in front of her.

She was now and then staring at me like I was wearing a Thanos costume and entertaining her sight.

I felt uncomfortable. I hate it when one stare at me like I am from another planet!!

Urgh!!

"Can you please stop", I manage to say.

"Pardon?", She asked.

"I'd appreciate if you stop staring at me as though I wasn't meant to be existing", I said sitting opposite her and munching my chips.

She bit her lips, trying not to laugh.

"Here, have some", I said, offering her some chips, she took a piece and threw it in her mouth.

"Hey, what are u feeling like", I asked after the dramatic act from her. She got up and went to the refrigerator. She took an apple and started munching it. She came back and sat next to me, crossing her legs.

Tapping me, she offered the apple to me. She mouthed something that instant and licked her lips seductively. I shaked my head in disapproval, stuffing my mouth with my chips.

"Really!!..." She got over me and held the apple with her teeth, beckoning me to take a bite from there.

DING DONG!!

The doorbell again...

But she couldn't let me go till I have a bite. I struggle with her but she had both hands of mine under both knees, making me powerless.

"Greg!!!" A voice called out.

"I will have a bite when you release me, please", but she refused. I came towards her for a bite, but just as soon as I wanted to have a chump of it, the apple fell and we ended up kissing.

"Anyone!!" Yelled the second person. Sofia wasn't ready to end the moment, so I shoved her off and made for the door.

Opening it, I smiled at Peggy and Sonia but they didn't smile back.

"What's that on your lower lip" Peggy asked. I wiped a lip gloss from my chin region and both looked suspectingly at me.

"Oh, Berries" I lied, trying to look innocent, but none listened to me and shoved themselves inside.

Sofia rushed to see their goodies.

"I smell cake here" Sonia said.

"I'm hungry, and why the heck are you topless?" Peggy asked me almost immediately..
