Chapter 6 I'm a wanted man

[you shouldn't trust my kind]

I woke up to find myself tied to my seat. Hades was driving, he's eyes didn't leave the road as he said, "you're awake."

"No shit Sherlock." I tried moving my legs but felt a sharp pain in my thigh.

"Don't move too much or else your wounds will re-open."

"What happened back there."

"I shot your thigh and injected you at the same time."

"I thought I was dead." He's hold on the steering wheel tightened. It was like he was trying not to comfort me.

"So do they."

"Why are you helping me?"

"I'm not, I'm just making my job easier." Oh

I must admit I was disappointed. I focused on the road. We were in the middle of nowhere. There were only trees around. After what seemed like forever he finally parked the car.

"I'll carry you there." I didn't say anything as he carried me bridal style.

We reached a small cottage that was already filled with stuff. Someone probably used to live there.

"Make yourself at home." He dropped me on the only couch in the room and went to the kitchen.

The betrayal rushed into my thoughts and I clenched my jaw, I was going to make them pay. Painfully.

"Eat something. We have a lot to discuss."

I didn't need to be told twice, the food wasn't delicious but it was still food so I ate.

I stopped eating when I realized that he was staring at me. "Stop gawking."

"Sorry." He lowered his head and started eating. Once we were done he took the plates and upon coming back he took a seat next to me.

"It's story time. Don't interrupt." He said and I nodded.

"I'm the rightful heir to the Lunnie throne but Sunn has taken that from me, you see he's my fathers best man's son I'm sure you know about the fall of the Lunnies, it was my father's best man who betrayed him. He took control but was killed during an attack many fled the city but some stayed behind now we are back and Sunn, being the only son alive took the role as leader. I want you to help me take back what is mine."

"Like father like son," I put one leg on top of the other, "You're in luck because betrayal in my books is paid by death but that doesn't mean that I'll help you."

"You need to." He said

"You expect me to help you when you're looking forward to taking my place."

"It's either me or Sunn, he has control over all the gangs and no matter how mighty you think you are you don't stand a chance." He was right

"What do I gain from this."

"You gain control over the gangs and once this is all over I will challenge you traditionally like every other gang." Fair enough

"How can I trust you will keep your word."

"You don't have to trust me, but if we are to win against Sunn, we will need each other."

"The only I need is Charlie." My baby

"That won't be a problem. I already have her with me." I snapped my head towards him and found him smiling at me.

"Deal." I said immediately.

"Good. Once your wound is fully healed we'll start training."

"If you betray me I'll come for you."

"I wouldn't mind that." He was serious. We stared at each other until I understood what he meant. I was the first to break eye contact blushing. I heard him leave and close the door behind him. I closed my eyes and dreamt of all the ways I'd make Sunn pay.
