Chapter 2 Cold Reception

The look on his face when he heard his mom had address me, there was disgust on his face one that would make someone cringe. "I don't remember sleeping with any other woman except from my wife, so it's either you pay her off like she wants....." He sized me from my feet up until my head and mumbled much to my hearing, "People like her will do anything for money" he closed his eyes and groaned like he couldn't wait to leave my presence.

I was ready to defend myself because of how offended I was with his statement. Normally I won't do a thing like this or think of doing it but I was begged by a woman who was desperate for a child as I was for money, she had tears, one that couldn't be controlled which moved me to a point I felt Good had been cruel not to give a kind-hearted woman a chance to hold a child in her arm.

I moved to give him a piece of my mind, one that would slap so hard it's stings on his face..... his handsome face.

"Son please don't be rude" Damon's mother said before I could give him my actual piece of mind. "She is actually the woman Elizabeth met for the surrogacy thing, or didn't she tell you? I am sure Elizabeth lied a lot but I can't believe she didn't let you know about this....."

"Beatriz! Never speak about my wife like that again, you and I know you are not even half the woman she is" Damon blurted out evilly, he didn't care that woman he was talking to was his mother.

I am already tired of this family and I only have just put a step in.

"How dare you.... I raised you, gave you my nipples to suckle on, took you to school by myself especially when he had nothing, I did everything thing for you and you still can't get over a single mistake that I made...." She paused and paced back and front stamping her feet on the ground. "I would have you know that your righteous wife took your sperm without your notice and gave it to this woman, she did this at your very own back, under your nose and you had no clue about it....."

Damon was silent. I would have been too if my wife never told me about something we should have discussed together, only to find out from my mother whom I despised.

I hated having to be in the middle of this argument, because Elizabeth was no longer and now the fact she used me for a substitute would make me seem like a bad person.

If I knew her husband never knew of this, I would never had done it. Every meeting we had she always tried to cover up for Damon's absence, because of this I personally termed him irresponsible for having to leave his wife to do the whole work by herself but now seeing all this family argument, I realized one thing and that I was in on a bumpy ride......

"Ms Priscilla let me take you to your room" Damon's mother, Beatriz took my left hand and guided me to the stairs. I felt someone get a tight grip on my right hand, a grip that won't let go and was persistent which made me to turn to see who it actually was.

"I need to have a word with her" he dragged me to follow him, Beatriz who had been holding my left hand dropped down immediately, letting go of my hand. Damon never bothered to check if she was alright, he just pulled me to an enclosed office with a very large table and an executive chair.

He threw me inside like I had no value and quickly locked the door and covered the curtains incase of any known Intruders.

"Get rid of the child, I promise to pay you the amount of money that you need or even more, I will give you what you want right now...."

"You would give me what I want?" I asked again so I could be sure and then he nodded.

He mentioned all the tantalizing places any person in place would have wanted and I was fascinated.

"........" He waited so patiently for my response. "Then.... Let me have this child"

He paused. Let out a heartily laugh and then his face got really serious and dark, so dark I could see his veins showing, his anger rising.

"I think I have not been clear enough so I would repeat it again, I want that growing thing gotten rid of...." His voice strong and hard you could feel the evilness he possessed.

"I can't.... Your wife begged and I promised her, she doesn't deserve to have something she worked really hard for taken away from her just because she is gone, my promise to her is greater than the millions you are offering, please excuse me...."

I pushed open the curtains and tried open the door forgetting he had locked and taken the key away. He came over to my side and said nothing only to open the door and leave.

After that encounter I never got to see him, though we lived at the same mansion, I was never able to cross path with him..... Which was a good thing if you considered how I turned down his offer.

The maids said he was a really busy person and was actually not always around, he could go for a business trip or travel to another head quarters to handle the situation there, in a nutshell, he was never home to his wife.

For the first time since I stayed here the power went off in the whole house while I was trying to locate my room, I touched on the door trying to feel the texture to see if it was mine, they were all the same so it was actually hard to tell.

When I eventually found it, I quickly located the bed and laid on it. I tried to cover myself with the blanket only for me to get a arm wrapped around my waist.

"Elizabeth" the calm husky voice oozed through my ear.
