"What are you talking about family birthmark?" He asked. I didn't realize I yelled out loud until he spoke. I let my towel drop to the floor and pointed at the birthmark on my stomach.
"This. This is the only thing I got from my mother. The family birthmark. I call it the triple heart. How is it possible that you have this birthmark!"
He narrowed his eyes at my stomach then looked at his own. "What was your mother's name?"
"Helen Lilith."
"Not possible! She had no child before me!" He yelled, making me step back from him. He began pacing back and forth.
I watched him pace for a while then looked at me. "How old are you?" He asked.
"199. You are the child born after I left. But, how are you the same as me? I'm the only one of my kind." I said.
"I think I might need to speak to the Goddesses. Did you know the Moon Goddess is missing?"
"She's not exactly missing anymore. She's-- She's my wolf."
His eyes nearly popped out of his head and his jaw dropped. "How? Why?"
"I don't know. I don't even know what to call myself at this point. Scarlet created me and had mother birth me. Born of human flesh, blood of the werewolf king, eyes of the vampire king, wings of an owl, and blood of a God, Scarlet's father."
"I was told the same things, except, I don't have owl wings. Dragon wings was given to me." He looked at his stomach again then at mine. "This means, I am your little brother I guess."
I nodded then pulled him into a hug. "Sister! No!" He pushed me away. I looked down. I completely forgot I wasn't dressed. Quickly, I grabbed my towel and covered myself.
"Sorry." I muttered. He laughed and turned away towards the showers.
"I'm going to assume that you no longer have to bathe me now that it turns out I am your little brother." I shook my head.
"Luna said I had to, but I might be able to get away with just washing your hair. Then I'll talk to Luna after we leave here." He nodded and switched on the showers.
I didn't realize how dirty he actually was. The floor beneath him was now dirt filled and the water was nearly black. I ended up washing his hair a good five times before it came clean. He had father's raven black hair. "Where they nice to you at least?" I asked suddenly, making him jump.
"No. They were cold and once I turned 16 they had me leave saying something along the lines of finding a monster. I wasn't allowed back until I had its head in a bag. I don't know what they were talking about. In fact, I still don't."
I dropped my hands to my sides. "Me. They told you that only if you killed me, they would take you back." I looked down at the floor.
"I don't think I would have been able to do it. I know I am your brother and I probably shouldn't say this but you are too beautiful to have your head in a bag. Sister," He turned and lowered his head to me. "Please forgive me for even having thought of doing such. I was never told about you. Just the stories of a monster who ate flames, breathed under water, was able to open the earth and ate poisonous plants to make itself immune. Please forgive me for ever being afraid of someone so kind hearted."
I fell to my knees in front of his bowed figure. Everything was blurry, as I took a ragged breath. I pulled him into a hug. "Little brother, I could never hate you or be mad at you for what our parents did to us." Someone cleared their throat and I looked over. "Alexander!" I yelled. I was crying, but also smiling.
"This situation doesn't look good for you. However I will give you the benefit of the doubt and let you explain what the fuck is going on in here and who the hell he is." Alexander said, crossing his arms across his chest.
I stood up and wiped my tears away. "Alexander, I'm not the only one of my kind! This is my little brother. He's just like me. And before you even ask, yes I have proof that he's my little brother." I pulled my brother to stand and pointed to his birthmark. "This is a family birthmark. We got it from our mother." I opened my towel and showed Alexander my stomach. I hoped this would be enough to convince him. I didn't have much else to prove that he is my brother.
He stood there for a while looking back and forth between us. "What is your mother's name?" He asked.
"Helen Lilith." My brother and I said in unison. Alexander blinked a few times.
"Okay. That was creepy. Though, there are a whole lot of similarities between you two. So, I'll believe you. Now hurry up, mom's waiting." He turned and left the bathroom.
"I forgot to ask sister, what is your name?"
"Kanna. You little brother?"
He smiled. "A wonderful name, Kanna. My name isn't as good as yours." He turned back to the water to wash his body.
"What is it?" I picked up my clothes. I was only washing his hair, so I wasn't needed anymore.
"Ryu. Ryu Lilith. Do you still have their last name?"
"I do. Kanna Lilith. I decided that I was going to keep the name instead of getting rid of it. I thought that one day I'd be able to meet a retaliative from further down the chain." I giggled. "Turns out that person is my little brother."
He chuckled as he turned the water off. "Pass me a towel Sis." I picked up a towel and tossed it to him. "Could you get me some clothes? I don't own any."
I smiled. "Papa," I looked at the little bird sitting on the table. "Do you have two loose feathers I could have?" He chirped and shook out his feathers. A blue one and a small white one fell out. I smiled and gave him a little pet on the head. "Thank you Papa." I handed the feathers to Ryu. He looked very confused. I couldn't help but laugh.
"What are these for?" He asked. I ran my fingers through my hair pulling out the loose ones.
"Hold all of this please." As he held them I held my hands out and envisioned clothes for him. When I opened my eyes again, he was holding a nice button down white shirt and a pair of blue jeans. "There you go." I left the bathroom leaving my very shocked brother behind.
A few moments later, he came out. "How did you do that? Could you teach me? They fit so nicely. Like no clothing has ever fit this nicely." He said. I smiled then heard his stomach growl loudly.
I burst into laughter. "Little brother, I think your wolf is speaking through your stomach."
He turned bright red. "Sister!" He yelled.
I laughed harder as I ran toward the kitchen. "Wait till I get my hands on you!" He yelled. I was much faster than he was, but I am a nice person so I stayed slow for him. He caught me by tackling me to the ground. "Now I have you sister." He reached for my sides and began tickling me.
I laughed and wiggled around. "Teasing me gets you tickled dear sister!" He laughed
"S-stop! I-- I'm sorry!" I laughed as tears rolled down my face. He didn't stop. "P-please little brother!" I begged in fits of laughter. He let me go and I gasped for air.
"Are you okay?" He asked, smiling at me.
"I am. Now let's go get something to eat. All that laughing has made me a bit peckish." I said,
"What the hell does 'peckish' mean?"
I giggled. "It simply means that I am up for a snack."
"Do you not eat proper meals?" Alexander asked from behind us. I jumped and Ryu caught me.
"Let's not have you flying away on us, sister."
Alexander growled and pulled me away from Ryu. "Just because you claim to be my mates little brother, doesn't mean I fully trust or believe you."
"Alexander." I growled in warning. He looked at me, confused. "I saw my father when I looked at him for the first time. I only know he was my brother by our mother's birthmark. You cannot say that you don't trust me. I was the one who did most of the talking. He only said around two words."
He opened and closed his mouth a few times, but didn't say anything and walked away. I sighed and followed him toward the kitchen. "Ryu, I hope you earn his trust soon. I don't like seeing the only men in my life act this way toward each other."
"I will only try if he does." Ryu growled.
We entered the kitchen to a wide spread of food. Every pack member was seated around a huge red oak table. "Alright everyone, the last three we were waiting for are here. Eat your fill." Alpha Luke said.
I watched Alexander go to sit with his parents at the head of the table. I gently pulled Ryu's sleeve to sit with me at the other end. "Are you sure that he is your little brother?" Alexander linked me.
"Yes. I told you, he looks almost identical to my father and has my mother's birthmark. I have no reason to lie to you do I? I've lived off the land before and I can do it again, if you so choose to reject me for thinking that I am lying." A pained look crossed his face, but he hid it quickly.
"I believe you. I just don't trust him. I don't know where his loyalty lies."
"Learn to trust him Alexander. He is my brother and there will be no sending him away. If he gets sent away, I'm going with him." I growled. He closed the link and went back to talking with his father.
"Kanna? Are you okay? I can feel your aura all the way over here." Alpha Luke asked. Everyone stopped and looked at me.
"I am fine. Just some memories are bugging me as of late. Please don't fret or take my aura seriously." I smiled politely. Alpha watched me for a while, but I calmed myself down and nibbled on some fruit. I watch Ryu gobble food down like he has been starving for months.
"Ryu, when was the last time you ate a proper meal?" I asked.
He swallowed his mouthful. "About a week and a half ago. Came across a dead deer and ate it. It was only about five days old, so it was still good." I gagged and covered my mouth.
"Dear Goddess little brother!"
"What? Gotta do what you gotta do right?"
"No Ryu! Never eat anything that isn't fresh. You could get very sick doing stuff like that." I sighed. "At least I know that I have my work cut out for me."
He laughed and dropped a small piece of meat on my plate. "Eat. You can't live off of fruit and vegetables like I see you have been."
I looked at it then looked back at Ryu with pleading eye. "Please don't make me eat that." I begged.
He shook his head. "Eat. I may be the younger sibling, but I am the male of the family we have. It's my job to make sure that you are healthy and strong enough to wed off."
I burst into laughter. "It's September of the 21st century Ryu. Men don't do that anymore. Nor do they wed off the eligible women." A few of the girls giggled at us. They must think our time was funny compared to now.
He huffed. "Well I'm still old school and I still want to make sure that my sister is well taken care of." I smiled and patted his head.
"I make no promises that this meat does not come back up is seconds after it going down." I stated.
"You'll get used to it if you eat it more."
"Ugh." I said and picked at the meat on my plate. "I am so going to throw this up." I mumbled. I put a small piece in my mouth and gagged. I covered my mouth to try and keep it in, but nope. I got up and ran to the bathroom. Turns out I went into the he-wolves bathroom, but I did not care. I hurled everything in my stomach into the toilet.
"You really can't huh?" Ryu asked. He must have followed me.
"No. No I can't. That was disgusting and I am never doing such again." I flushed the toilet and Ryu helped me up. "I'm going to wash my face then I am going to find a place to curl up and stop my stomach from turning." I walked to the sink and washed up.
"You aren't leaving my site." Ryu said bluntly.
"Watch me little brother. I'm a whole lot faster than you."
He smiled that smile I only saw father give to mother when he was about to say something cheeky. "I will find you. You know I will."
"That smile is just like fathers." I said. He shrugged. I turned and walked away, but the moment I was out of the bathroom, I bumped into Alexander.
"Sorry are you okay, my love?"
"I'm fine."
"Are you sure? You left the table to suddenly. Mom got worried that you got sick from her food."
"No no. Ryu had me take a bite of meat. I don't eat meat. He said I'm too thin and not eligible to wed off." I laughed. "He's too old for his own good."
Alexander growled at Ryu who just left the bathroom. "What do you mean by wed off?"
"He--" Alexander held up his hand to me. He didn't want me to answer, he wanted Ryu to answer him.
Ryu sighed. "If I am to wed her off, she must be fit and in perfect condition. Her flower must be intact until the night of her marriage. Hopefully you understand that meaning because I really do not feel like talking about that part any further. Any-who, seeing as how our parents have ruined her skin with scars, I must have her gain weight the the desired pound. Her not being able to eat meat, is going to make it a whole lot more difficult." Ryu paused to look directly at Alexander. "You, dear brother in-law, will not lay a hand on her until after you are married to her. Am I clear?"
Alexander was growling. I feel like I'm am going to have to break up a fight between these two. In fact, I'm not going to let either of them start a damn fight. I stood between them, putting a hand on each. "If you two are going to fight, you two are going to sit under a waterfall for an hour. I am not in the mood to deal with your jealousy act Alexander. Or your overly protectiveness Ryu. I am 199 years old. Been on my own since I was around 27. I don't need any of this. Now you boys go finish dinner while I go find somewhere to rest. And no, you cannot know where I am going and no, you cannot follow me." I walked away leaving them to stare in shock.
I walked a little while in the forest when I can across a small entrance to a cave. I decided that this place was good enough to curl up and rest. I did sniff around to make sure nothing else lived there, but it seemed it was just an empty cave. I laid down in the shadows and watched the forest. Listening to its every sound. I felt my eyes getting heavy after a while. I didn't feel like going back to the house, so I just let my eyes fall shut and let myself drift off into slumber.
